Eloise L. Cindrich, 80, who was a lifelong member of Holy Ghost Lutheran Church, died Monday (Oct. 22, 2001) in Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center after a brief illness.
Born Eloise Camann in Wheatfield, she attended Holy Ghost Lutheran School and was a graduate of LaSalle High School in Niagara Falls.
During the 1940s and '50s, she worked at Wurlitzer County, North Tonawanda, and at Bell Aerospace Textron, Wheatfield.
She was a past member of the Bergholz Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary and enjoyed reading, cooking, gardening and garage sales.
Her husband, John Sr., died in 1990.
Survivors include three sons, Jack Jr., Rodney and Richard, all of Niagara Falls; a daughter, Brenda Butry of Niagara Falls; two brothers, Warren Camann of Bergholz and Robert Camann of Waynesboro, Va.; and two grandchildren-.
Services will be held at 11 A.M. Friday in Holy Ghost Lutheran Church, Niagara Road and Luther Street. Burial will be in the church cemetery

Warren E. Camann, well know and respected WNY Drum Major, died Saturday July 26, 2003, in the Kenmore Mercy Hospital after a short illness.
A life long resident of Bergholz, NY, in the Town of Wheatfield, he was born on October 1, 1923, the son of Edwin J. and Lydia [ Baars ] Camann. He attended local schools and was a graduate of the Trot Vocational High School, in Niagara Falls, Niagara County, NY.
He served in the United States Army, during World War II, in Ardennes Central Europe, Normandy and Northern France, and was awarded the European-African-Middle Eastern Service Good Conduct Medal and the World War II Victory Medal.
He was employed as a machinist at General Abrasives for 48 years, retiring in 1989, and at Hutchin's Automotive, for 11 years, retiring last year. Warren was an Honorary Member of the Sanborn Fire Company, where he was a member of the Sanborn Band for over 50 years. He began as a member of the trombone section, he served as band manager for many years later becoming Drum Major, serving for 15 years, retiring in 2001. His proudest memories were leading the band in the Fourth of July Parades, in Washington, DC, and Philadelphia, PA., and twice in Canton, OH, for the Football Hall of Fame Parade, which is regarded as the # 3 Parade in the Country. He was a Charter and Life member of the Wheatfield Post #1451 American Legion. He was a member of the St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church, in Sanborn.
Surviving is his wife of 54 years, the former June Haseley, who he married on October 8, 1949; a brother, Robert Camann, of Waynesboro, VA, and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Eloise Cindrich.
Visitation will be at the RHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 5893 Hoover Road, Sanborn, NY, from 7 - 9 PM, Sunday, 2 - 4 & 7 - 9 PM, Monday.

Camann, Waldemar H. "Wally"
Waldemar H. "Wally" Camann, age 91, was called to his heavenly home on Tuesday, September 23, 2008. He was born in Bergholz, the son of the late Albert A. and Emma (Baars) Camann on January 26, 1917. Mr. Camann lived in Bergholz nearly all of his life and was a lifelong member of Holy Ghost Lutheran Church. He married the former Lucille E. Wilksen on April 26, 1941. They enjoyed 55 years of marriage until her death on April 23, 1996. Mr. Camann received his early education at Holy Ghost Lutheran School, followed by South Junior High School, quit school to work at Carborundum for a time during the Depression, then returned to school and graduated from Trott Vocational School in 1937.Mr. Camann started work at DuPont in 1938 as a welding apprentice and eventually worked in sheet metal layout, until his retirement in 1978. He also crafted and installed gutters on many homes in the area to supplement the income needed to support his large family.After retirement, the Camann's enjoyed traveling and enjoying the scenery, and for visits with far-flung family and friends. He was involved with volunteering from an early age and was always available to "lend a hand" whether to individuals or through organizations to which he belonged. He was a very active member of his church, the Walther League, the Lutheran Laymen's League, the historical society and had over 70 years of volunteer service with the First Volunteer Fire Company of Bergholz, Inc. Mr. Camann is survived by his children, sons, William (JoAnne) Camann, Kent, NY, Dr. Keith (Ellen) Camann, Okemos, MI, Richard (Sue) Camann, Plymouth, MI; and daughters, Cecile Beutel, Walworth, NY, Barbara Sniffen, Gainesville, FL, Audrey Pfohl, Highlands Ranch, CO, and Donna (Jeffrey) Zygmont, Salem, NH. BERGHOLZ - Eugene W. Camann, an author, historian and former accountant for Carborundum County, died Sunday in Mount St. Mary's Hospital, Lewiston, after a brief illness. He was 84.
Born in Wheatfield, Mr.
Camann was a longtime resident of the hamlet of Bergholz. He graduated from Holy Ghost Lutheran School in Bergholz, LaSalle High School and Harvard Business School.
Mr. Camann worked at Carborundum for 32 years, retiring as a cost accountant. He was also an office manager for 10 years with the Eastern District office of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod.
In 1975, he founded the Historical Society of North German Settlements in Western New York. He also served as curator of its Heritage Museum in Bergholz, co-founded the Bergholz German Band and was a member of the Bergholz Fire Company Band.
Mr. Camann wrote two books - "Uprooted From Prussia, Transplanted in America" and "More Prussian Transplantings in Wheatfield" - as well as numerous historical pamphlets. He took numerous trips to Germany to do research for his books.
Mr. Camann was a lifelong member of Holy Ghost Lutheran Church in Bergholz, where he served as an elder, chairman of the congregation, Sunday school superintendent, choir member and on the youth and stewardship boards. He also researched and spoke on Lutheran Church history in Western New York.
His wife of 45 years, Janice R. Wienke Camann, died in 1988.
Survivors include four sons, David of San Antonio, TX,
Michael of Germantown, Stephen of Waldorf, MD., and Timothy of Unadilla; four daughters, Ruth Voelker, Lois Wiseman, Mary Fuerch and Deborah Feick, all of Bergholz; two brothers, Waldemar and Roland, both of Wheatfield; 19 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

LOCKPORT — Roland "Joe" E. Camann, age 86, of Wheatfield, was called to his heavenly home to be with our Lord, on Sunday, May 2, 2010, in Eastern Niagara Hospital, Lockport. Born in the Town of Wheatfield, NY on December 6, 1923 to the late Albert and Emma (Baars) Camann. He attended Holy Ghost Lutheran School and Trott Vocational. A United States Army Veteran, he was a lifelong member of Holy Ghost Lutheran Church in Bergholz, where he held numerous positions over the years and sang in the choir. He was employed as a maintenance supervisor at the E.I.DuPont & Co. for many years. Joe was an exempt member and past Chief of the Bergholz Fire Co., past Commander of the Wheatfield American Legion, Post 1451, former member of the Bergholz German Band, Bergholz Cooperative Insurance Co., and past President of the Board of Directors, Firemen's Association of the State of New York, and past President of the Niagara County Fire Chiefs Association. Hobbies and interests included music, traveling, photography, chair caining, keeping family trees and the historical society.

Survivors include his beloved wife, Bernice "Bonnie" (Milleville) Camann. They were united in marriage June 1, 1946; loving twin daughters, Karen (late Howard) Binkley of North Tonawanda and Maureen (Rev. Wayne) Jagow of Lockport; five grandchildren, Nicole (Allen) Ganz, Rev. Andrew (Kathy) Jagow, Kim Binkley, Bethany (Michael) Moulden and Karrie (Glen) Gebhardt; four great-grandchildren, Jamie and Sarah Ganz, Lily and Claire Jagow; sister-in-law, Doris Camann; and many nieces and nephews. Reverend Francis "Frank" Edward Camann, age 73 of Clintonville, entered his eternal home on Tuesday, July 5, 2005 at his residence. He was born on October 22, 1931 in Niagara Falls, Niagara County, NY. He was the son of the late Albert and Emma (Baars) Camann. Frank was baptized on November 15, 1931 and confirmed on March 25, 1945 into the Lutheran faith at Holy Ghost Lutheran Church in Bergholz, NY. Upon graduating from Niagara Falls Senior High School, he worked at General Abrasive Corp. and Niagara Power Co. one year before attending Concordia Teachers College, River Forest, IL. He graduated there on June 11, 1954 with a B.S. Degree in Education. On June 25, 1955 he married Doris Schmidt. His parochial school teaching years were spent in Plymouth, WI (1954-1963), Cabot, PA (1963-1965), and Luxemburg, WI (1965-1968). He enrolled at Concordia Seminary, Springfield, IL in 1968. During his 3 years of studies he assisted congregations in Farmersville and Danville, IL. His vicarage year was spent at St. John, Rochester, MI. In 1972 Frank graduated with a Master of Divinity degree from Concordia Seminary. He served pastorates at Zion, Wayside, WI (1972-1978), St. Paul, Williamsburg, IA (1978-1979), and Trinity and Grace, Bear Creek, WI (1979-1994). He retired from full-time ministry in 1994, completing 40 years of service to the church. During retirement Frank assisted the chaplain at Wisconsin State Veterans Home in King, WI. He also helped at various area churches, primarily Zion Embarrass and St. Peter Pella Opening, and St. Martin in Clintonville until early 2003 when his health began to fail.

The funeral of Eugene Tuttle 19, of the Falls boulevard, near St. Johnsburg, was held this afternoon from the home of the boy's aunt. Mrs John Bluhm, whom he lived and from the St. John's church in St Johnsburg. The Rev. Walter Thiemecke officiated. Burial was in St John's cemetery. Tuttle was instantly killed Tuesday night while walking along Ward road near the Niagara Falls boulevard on his way to a church Halloween party with three other boys. The four had their backs to traffic according the statement made to the state troopers by the driver of the car.
Paul Mittelstaedt, Ward road, Niagara Falls. Mittelstaedt said he was unable to see the boys against the glare of oncoming headlights. One other boy, Howard Siegmann, 13, of Pierce road, North Tonawanda, is in the DeGraff Memorial hospital with compound fractures of both legs. James Strassburg, 14, Ward road. North Tonawanda, suffered minor bruises of the left leg, but was able to be taken to his home after the accident. The fourth boy, Norman Richert, 15, Nash road North Tonawanda, was uninjured. ohn P. Cindrich, Jr. "Jack", age 76 of (Bergholz) Town of Wheatfield, NY, was called to his heavenly home on May 14, 2023, at Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital. Born in Ransomville, NY on April 11, 1947; son of the late John and Eloise (Camann) Cindrich, Sr. Jack served in the U.S. Army from 1966-1972, where he was a medical transport officer, and received training as a Projectionist. He was employed at the former Boulevard Drive-in for 15 years, and Harrison Radiator in Lockport, until his retirement. Jack was a life long member of Holy Ghost Lutheran Church, member of the German Historical Society, exempt member of the Bergholz Fire Company, Train Collectors Society, and the Niagara County Fire Police Association. He enjoyed model railroading, WWE, NASCAR, and his pets.Jack was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, Daniel. and Rodney.Survivors include a brother, Richard (Maria) Cindrich; sister, Brenda Butry; several aunts and many cousins.Friends may call at the DuBois Funeral Home, 2436 Niagara Road, (Bergholz) in Wheatfield, on Thursday, May 18 from 3-7 p.m. Services will be conducted by the Rev. Rodney E. Cindrich, age 58, of Wheatfield, was called to his heavenly home on March 9, 2014 at his residence of natural causes. Born in Ransomville, NY on August 30, 1955, he was the son of the late John and Eloise (Camann) Cindrich, Sr.
Rodney was a 1974 graduate of Niagara Wheatfield High School, and was employed as a press operator at Delphi in Lockport for 30 years. He enjoyed classic cars and NASCAR.
Survivors include a daughter, Candice (Jeremy) Polaikis; grandson, Daniel; two brothers, Jack and Richard (Maria) Cindrich; a sister, Brenda Butry; an uncle, several aunts and cousins. He was also predeceased by a brother, Daniel.
Friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service conducted by the Rev. Philip N. Sallach on Saturday, March 15th at 7:00 PM in the DUBOIS FUNERAL HOME (731-3234), 2436 Niagara Road, (Bergholz) in Wheatfield. A private interment will take place in Holy Ghost Lutheran Cemetery.

Cecile C. “CiCi” Beutel (Camann), age 66, was called to her heavenly home on Tuesday, January 20, 2009. She was born in Bergholz, the daughter of the late Waldemar H. and Lucille E. Camann, on February 24, 1942. Her strong family values developed early as she helped in the raising of her brothers, William (JoAnne) Camann, Dr. Keith (Ellen) Camann, Richard (Sue) Camann; and her sisters, Barbara Sniffen, Audrey Pfohl and Donna (Jeffery) Zygmont. Two additional brothers, Joel and Frederick predeceased Mrs. Beutel. She spent her early years attending Holy Ghost Lutheran School. She graduated as Valedictorian of her Senior Class at Niagara Falls High School in 1959. She completed one year of college at the University of Rochester, where she had received academic scholarships. She chose to forego completing her degree in order to marry her sweetheart, Marvin I. Beutel. They moved to Fairport, NY and enjoyed 32 years of marriage, until his untimely death on August 26, 1994. Cici enjoyed her role as a homemaker and proudly raised her five sons, Andrew, Dennis, Matthew, Edward and Adam, with her strong beliefs and values. Her motherly love carried on to their respective wives and fiancés, Ladelle, Jodi, Vicki, Nancy and Lisa, all of whom grew to love, respect and cherish her. She was especially proud of her nine grandchildren, Emily, Jennifer, Justin, Zak, Ryan, Justin, Mia, Jake and Noah.Mrs. Beutel was actively involved in Bethlehem Lutheran Church and in the ELCA Synod, where she served on numerous committees and leadership positions. She was instrumental in the development and startup of Advent House Hospice care, located in Fairport, where she also volunteered. She sponsored and hosted refugee families from Laos and Somalia. Mrs. Beutel also acted as Coordinator for Reach to Recovery for newly diagnosed cancer patients. She contributed much time and energy to other programs devoted to helping others.She is also survived by sister–in-law, Carol (RADM James) Doebler, Uncle Roland (Bonnie) Camann; aunts, Doris Camann, Violet Wurm, Lorraine Wilksen, Lydia Stoelting, Gladys Hasley; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.Friends and family may call Friday, January 23rd, 2-4, 7-9 PM at the Richard H. Stephen attended Holy Ghost Lutheran School, and was a 1968 graduate of Niagara Wheatfield High School. He went on and graduated from the United States Air Force Academy with a Master's degree. Stephen served in the Air Force from 1972-1994 as a pilot, retiring with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. He then worked for Southwest Airlines, as a pilot for 20 years. Stephen enjoyed bicycling and woodworking.
Survivors include his beloved wife, Mary "Liz" Camann; children, Jane, Rachel, and Paul Camann; siblings, David (Lin) Camann, Ruth (Earl) Voelker, Mike (Debbie) Camann, Tim (Christine) Camann, Mary (Les) Fuerch, Lois (Rick) Wiseman, and Debbie (Robin) Feick; and many nieces and nephews.

NORTH TONAWANDA - Karen S. Binkley (Camann), age 64, of North Tonawanda, was called to her heavenly home to be with our Lord and reunited with loved ones on March 6, 2011, after a courageous battle with her illness. Born in Niagara Falls, NY on March 4, 1947 to the late Roland and Bernice (Milleville) Camann. Karen grew up attending Holy Ghost Lutheran Church and School, an active member of the Walther League of which she held many offices, and later became a faithful member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church in North Tonawanda, where she served as the church secretary for 20 years, member of St. Matthew PTL, a Sunday School officer for 13 years, taught Vacation Bible School, was on the 100th Anniversary Committee, handwrote and directed Christmas programs and was a district deacon. Karen also enjoyed gardening, writing and spending quality time with her family.

Predeceased by her loving husband, Howard L. Binkley on September 14, 1997. She was a devoted mother and is survived by three daughters, Nicole (Allen) Ganz of Pendleton, Kim Binkley of North Tonawanda and Karrie (Glen) Gebhardt of Wheatfield; twin sister, Maureen (Rev. Wayne) Jagow of Lockport; granddaughters, Jamie Ganz and Sarah Ganz; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law and many friends.
