WOLCOTTSVILLE. Feb 26-
The funeral of Henry D. Bruning, 89,
was held on Saturday afternoon at 1:30
from the home and at 2 o'clock from
Trinity Lutheran church of which he
was a member.
He left to mourn his loss three
daughters, Mrs. David Hellart, of Me-
dina, Mrs. Fred Zieman, of Middleport,
and Mrs. Edward Benthene, of West
Barry, N.Y., 17 grandchildren and 16
great grandchildren. Mr. Bruning was
the father of Henry Bruning, Jr., who
died last May and of the late Mrs. John
Urtle.
He came from Germany when a boy
eight years old, and he also served
throughout the civil war.
The bearers were John C. Fink, Gus-
tave Williams, John Sy, Fred Yayo,
Hermany Klienhans and John Rhodes.
Interment was in Wolcottsvillel ceme-
tery.

AKRON - The crushed body of
Town of Newstead farmer Lloyd
Bruning, 48, of Teanow Rd., was
discovered in his car shortly afternoon
Sunday by four hunters in
the Town of Alabama in Genesee-
County,
Hidden by foliage and partially
ausmeigaJ in the old Feeder Canal
near the Tonawanda Indian
Reservation, the car apparently
failed to negotiate a curve in
Judge Rd., near Feeder Rd.
The vehicle had leaped across
the 20-foot-wide canal and
slammed into the steep opposite
bank, its rear in the water. Mr
Bruning was trapped in the front
seat by the steering wheel.
Genesee County Coroner Dr.
Raymond Warn of Oakfield estimated
the time of death as 12:15
Sunday morning. An autopsy performed
In the Genesee County
Laboratory at Batavia revealed
Mr. Bruning died of a crushed
chest.
DEPOSITED MONEY
Mr. Bruning, who left his home
for a hunting trip with $2,200 in
cash, was reported missing about
10:30 Sunday morning by his son
Richard.
Investigation showed that all
but $200 of the money had been
deposited in a bank before Mr.
Brunning left late Saturday night
for Medina.
State Troopers B. C. Mustek
of the Clarence Sub-station and
Warren Terryberry and E. J.
Fechter of the Batavia Barracks
investigated.
Mr. Bruning was born Sept. 4,
1911, in Wolcottsville, a son of the
late Rudolph Bruning and Mrs.
Minnie Bruning of the Tesow Rd.

He was a resident of the Town
of Newstead for the past 29 years
and a member of St. John's
Lutheran Church, Akron.

school for 26 years, retiring 15
years ago. He was a member

Rose Weber Dies after Long Illness
Mrs. Rose M. Weber of Fisk Road, Wolcottsville, died yesterday at the United Church Colony Home, Gasport. She was born May 21, 1892 in the Town of Newstead the daughter of Henry Koepsel and Malvina (Kleinhans) Koepsel. She had lived in this area all of her life. Her husband, Elmer Weber, died in 1961. Mrs. Weber was a member of the Wolcottsville Golden Agers and St. Michael's Lutheran Church, Wolcottsville. Surviving are two sons, Elton and LaVerne Weber, two daughters, Mrs. Helen Hotte and Mrs. Marian Brauen, all of Wolcottsville; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. John (Mabel) Pafk of Akron; and several nieces and nephews. memorial Hospital. He was

She was a former member of the

the choir for many years. She was a

worked at die reception desk for 20
years. She had been employed at one
time for Newell Shirt Factory in
Medina and had also worked for
several years for J.C. Penney Co. in
Medina.
