Doebler, Charles G., Wheatfield, was born in Germany in 1856, and came to America in 1967, with his parents and only brother. They settled in Niagara county and began farming, in which occupation Charles G. was reared. After following different occupations interspersed with farming, he finally went into a planing mill of the Export Lumber Company in 1882. He was subsequently employed with A. M. Dodge & County, and in 1888 formed a partnership with Mr. W. W. Robertson. (An outline of this business will be found in the article headed W. W. Robertson.) Mr. Doebler married Elizabeth Lang of Buffalo, and they have five children: Charles, Rosa, Alfred, Herman and Hulda. His parents were Louis and Dora Doebler, both deceased, as is also his brother William. referred to above. Mr. Doebler is a prominent Republican, and a trustee of St. Matthew's church.

NORTH TONAWANDA, July 26. - John Doebler, 46 years old, 77 Felton street, died yesterday at the DeGraff Memorial hospital. He was Injured on Monday of last week while working at the plant of the Buffalo Bolt company. His injuries were not regarded as serious. Plans were made yesterday to remove him to his home today. His condition took a sudden change for the worse this morning. The unexpected death of her husband prostrated Mrs. Doebler and her condition became so grave that several physicians were called in during the day. besides the wife, a son Alvin survives. Mr. Doebler was a member of Gratwick Hose and St Marks Evangelical Lutheran church. he was well known in the Gratwick section of North Tonawanda where he lived many years.

Edward A. Doebler, 42 years old, a former resident of North Tonawanda, died today at his home on North Ridge road. He had lived at North Ridge Road for the past ten years. He is survived by a wife Louise; two sons, Wilbur and Verne; two daughters, Delores and Iverna all of North Ridge, and three brothers, Gustave C., Charles A., and Herman, all of North Tonawanda. The funeral will be held Monday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the residence and half an hour later at the Evangelical Lutheran Church in North Ridge. Rev. LOCKPORT — E. Clarence Doebler, age 88, of North Tonawanda, June 15, 2011, in Odd Fellow & Rebekah Health Facility, Lockport. Clarence was a life-long resident of North Tonawanda and was a faithful member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church.

He was the son of the late Gustav and Minnie (Kolbe) Doebler and brother of the late Edmund Doebler. He is survived by cousins and many friends. Clarence was employed by Buffalo Bolt for 17 years and then worked for National Grinding Wheel for 23 years, until he retired. Clarence was a volunteer for the North Tonawanda Meals on Wheels.

Friends may call at the Fretthold Funeral Home Inc., 1241 Oliver St. at Ward Rd., in North Tonawanda on Friday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 10 AM from St. Matthew Lutheran Church, 875 Eggert Dr., in North Tonawanda, the Rev. Gregory Schultz will officiate. Born in North Tonawanda, Mrs Beckett resided for the greater part of her life in Tonawanda. She was a member of St Francis Church and the Mothers Club of St Francis School. Her husband the late George Beckett died in Aug of 1952.
