Sharon Anne Brandt, of Lockport, passed away Saturday, February 13, 2010 at Niagara Hospice House, Lockport, NY. Mrs. Brandt was born in Medina, NY on September 11, 1944, daughter of Ruth (Wolfe) Ewald and the late Carlton Ewald.She grew up in the Wolcottsville area and had lived in Lockport for 43 years. She and her husband, Edward H. Brandt, were married May 6, 1978. She was a member of the Emmanuel United Methodist Church in Lockport and was a Pre-K teacher for the church from l988 to l999. She enjoyed her family, crafts and gardening.She is survived by her husband, Edward H. Brandt; her children, Allen Hoste and Gregory Tammy) Hoste, all of Lockport and Cheryl (Darren) May of Michigan and her mother, Ruth Ewald of Clarence, NY. Also surviving are her step-children, Edward Brandt of Frankfort, NY, Mary Brandt and Cynthia Brandt, both of Mohawk, NY and Sharon (David) Wert of South Carolina. Also surviving are eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild; three brothers and one sister, Ralph (Margaret) Ewald of Ransomville, Sandra (late Donald) Frey of Lockport, Keith (Diane) Ewald of Ohio and Kevin (Nancy) Ewald of Akron, NY; a brother-in-law, David (Anne) Brandt of Pennsylvania and several nieces and nephews.Friends may call Thursday from 2 to 4 PM and 7 to 9 PM at the Bates, Wallace and Heath Funeral Home, 38 State St., Middleport. Funeral services will be held Friday at 11:00 AM at Emmanuel United Methodist Church in Lockport. Rev. Karen Smith will officiate and burial will be in Hartland Central Cemetery.
