    DIES SUDDENLY
    Mrs. Minnie M. Peters passes at North Tonawanda Home
    NORTH TONAWANDA - Mrs. Minnie M. Peters, 56, died suddenly last night at her home, 44 Filner avenue. She recently underwent an operation and appeared to be on the road to recovery when stricken with a heart attack. She was a lifelong resident of this city, a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church and the Ladies Aid Society. She leaves her husband, William Peter; two daughters, Mrs. Harry Kubiak, Jr. and Miss Ruth Peter; a son, Wilbert Peter, all of this city, and two sisters, Mrs. Benjamin Sahr of this city, and Mrs. John Lamp, of Tonawanda. The funeral will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the home and at 2:30 from St. Paul's church. Interment will be in St. Paul's cemetery.

    Lifelong Member of St. Paul Lutheran Church

    Ruth E. (nee Peter) Lorenz, age 91 of the Town of Wheatfield and formerly of Martinsville, Thursday, October 9, 2014 at Northgate Manor under the care of Niagara Hospice. She was the wife of Robert W. Lorenz who died in 2000 and was a lifelong member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in North Tonawanda.

    She is survived by three children, Timothy (Renee) Lorenz of Wheatfield, Pamela (Larry) Doel of Florida and Paula Stange of Getzville; nine grandchildren, Michelle, Kimberly (Geoffry), Marci, Corey, Kelly (Marcus), Katie (Steve), Tracy (Steven), Amanda and Bradley and eight great-grandchildren, Mikayla, Abigail, Austin, Rachael, Ryan, Carter, Colton and Kennedy.

    Friends may call on Sunday from 4-7 PM at John O. Roth Funeral Home, Inc., 25 William St. (between Morgan & Broad Sts.) in Tonawanda. Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 10:30 AM in St. Paul Lutheran Church, 453 Old Falls Blvd. in North Tonawanda. The Rev. Karl W. Haeussler will officiate.     Proefrock - Bertha A. (nee Sahr) Proefrock, age 77, of North Tonawanda, Saturday (February 27, 1993) in Amherst Nursing Home. Mrs. Proefrock was a former employee of Wurlitzer, the Board of Education and was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church.

    She is survived by her husband, Laverne Proefrock; a son, Marlin Proefrock of Wheatfield and a daughter, Mrs. David (Arly) Roberts of North Tonawanda, four grandsons, Guy (Regina) Roberts of Wheatfield, Paul (Jodi) Roberts of Wheatfield, Tom Roberts and Mark Roberts, both at home' three great-grandchildren, Joshua, Adam and Jessica Roberts; three sisters, Mrs. Sanford (Mabel) Verrall of North Tonawanda, Mrs. Lucille Wittkop and Mrs. Alfred ( June) Henneberger, both of Wheatfield and a sister-in-law, Viola Sahr.

She was employed for many years at Remington Rand, and later at Hutchins Automotive, as a secretary.
    Survivors include her son, Daniel (Cindy) Wittkop; a sister, June (Alfred) Henneberger; and several nieces and nephews. Lucille was predeceased by her husband, Ralph H. Wittkop, on October 9, 1991; and several brothers and sisters.
    Services will be private, without visitation. Interment will be in Holy Ghost Lutheran Cemetery, Wheatfield, New York. Arrangements are with the DuBois Funeral Home.

Ewald, who died in 1973; mother of Paul John (late Joann) Ewald and Barbara Ann (Roger) Stahlman; grandmother of Daniel Stahlman; great-grandmother of Zachary and Bradley; daughter of the late John and Regina Lamp; sister of Ardys (late Richard) Lerch; and the late Donald (late Virginia) Lamp, Robert (late Ann) Lamp, and Gerald (late Roxanne) Lamp; also survived by nieces and nephews. Betty was a graduate of Tonawanda High School and was the oldest living member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in North Tonawanda. Betty had been employed by Van Raalte, in North Tonawanda, and in her later years, worked at AM & A's in the Town of Tonawanda. She was a volunteer at DeGraff Memorial Hospital and also North Tonawanda Food Pantry. Betty was also a member of Friends of North Tonawanda Public Library. There will be no prior visitation. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service on Monday, May 23rd, at 11 AM at JOHN O. ROTH FUNERAL HOME, INC., 25 William St., (between Morgan & Broad Sts.) in Tonawanda.     Tonawanda — Gerald R. "Jerry" Lamp, age 75, of the City of Tonawanda, Friday, March 26, 2010 at his residence. A lifelong resident of Tonawanda, he was the son of the late John and Regina (nee Jaenecke) Lamp; and was the brother of the late Donald Lamp. Jerry was a 1952 graduate of Tonawanda High School and received his BA in Education from Buffalo State Teachers College in 1960. He had been employed by the Ken-Ton School District as a 4th Grade Teacher at Ben Franklin Elementary School for 32 years, retiring in 1992. He was a US Army Veteran serving in Korea during the Korean War, and was a member of Ken-Ton Masonic Lodge No. 1186, Ismailia Shrine, Tonawandas-Grand Island Shrine Club, Tonawandas' Post 264 American Legion and the Historical Society of the Tonawandas. Jerry was also an avid gardener and New York YankeesÕ fan. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Roxanne (nee Hall) Lamp; two sons, Michael (Michelle) Lamp of Tonawanda and James (Kelly) Lamp of Haverhill, MA; and three granddaughters, twins, Natalie and Katherine Lamp and Ashley Lamp; two sisters and a brother, Betty (the late Robert) Ewald of North Tonawanda, Robert (Ann) Lamp of Jamestown, NY and Ardys (Richard) Lerch of Cheektowaga; a sister-in-law, Virginia (the late Donald) Lamp of Orchard Park; and a brother-in-law, Roger (Diane) Hall of Tuscaloosa, AL; also survived by many nieces and nephews.     Sioux Falls, SD - Alice M. Klos, age 62, formerly of North Tonawanda, NY, passed away on Monday, August 18, 2014, at her home in Sioux Falls.

    Funeral services will begin at 10:30 AM on Friday, August 22, 2014, at Peace Lutheran Church in Sioux Falls, SD. Visitation will begin at 2:00 PM on Thursday at George Boom Funeral Home in Sioux Falls with the family present to greet friends from 5 to 7 PM.

    Grateful for having shared her life are her husband, Roger Klos; daughter, Andrea (Darin) Wickersham; three grandchildren, Tyler Dede, Samuel and Molly Wickersham, all of Sioux Falls, SD; and a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Viola Sahr.
