After a long and tremendously fulfilling life with her musician husband of 64 years, our lovely wife and mother Doris (Regnet) Kowalak, went to our Lord's Paradise on this day at 6:37 P.M. She was blessed to spend her last day with her husband Frank and her son Dr. Thomas Kowalak. she had visits from her granddaughters, followed by a blessing from the Niagara Hospice Minister. Doris Loved her family and was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Entombment will be held in Elmlawn Cemetery at the convenience of the family.

    NORTH TONAWANDA — Debra V. Turner, "Bubbles", age 52, of North Tonawanda, passed away on Thursday, July 19, 2012 at DeGraff Memorial Hospital. Debra was born on July 9, 1960 in North Tonawanda, daughter of the late Alvin and Gloria Witkopf.

    Beloved wife of Timothy H. Turner; dearest mother of Amber Turner; devoted grandmother of Timothy J. Marzulli; sister of Sharon Gerhardt and late Richard Witkopf; sister-in-law of Penni Truell, late James Turner, late Ludi O'Connor, Herbert Turner, John Turner and William Gerrity; also survived by nieces and nephews.

    BUFFALO — Bonnie Sue Matthews, age 60, of Tonawanda, died Tuesday, August 3, 2010, at Hospice Buffalo, after a long illness. Born in North Tonawanda, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Pauline (nee Pasel) Witkopf and mother of the late Jeremy A. Matthews. A lifelong resident of Tonawanda, Bonnie was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and was the manager of the Facilities Services Department at Kenmore Mercy Hospital before becoming ill. She loved reading, participating in sports and golf, traveling, and spending time at the beach.

    She is survived by her beloved husband, Joseph A. Matthews; two sons, Joseph (Stephanie) Matthews III and Jason A. Matthews; a sister, Susan (Lisa Benevento) Mutton; and three granddaughters, Rochelle, Adreena and Delaney. Also surviving are her special niece, Holly B. Mutton, D.O.; her sister-in-law and close friend, Betty Lou (Mike) Mazuca Adams; her brothers-in-law, David Mutton and Frank (Aimee) Mazuca; her sister-in-law, Linda (Terry) Potter; several nieces and nephews; and the Shingledecker Family.

    Friends may call from 3-8 PM on Thursday only at the HAMP FUNERAL HOME, Inc., 37 Adam Street at Seymour, Tonawanda. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday at Immanuel Lutheran Church, William and Scott Streets, Tonawanda. Friends invited. If desired, memorials to Hospice Buffalo are preferred by the family.

    Florence E. (Flo) (née Shingledecker) Matters 64, of North Tonawanda died June 22, 2023 at home surrounded by family under the care of Niagara Hospice after a battle with cancer. Florence is the daughter of the late James K. and Betty (née Witkopp) Shingledecker and sister of the late Harold and James Shingledecker, and Bonnie Matthews. Mother of Betty (john) Hark, and Nathan (Gineen) Matters, Flo is survived by her sisters Terri, Malissa (Michael Kuntz), Jessie, and brothers Frank, Andrew (Cindy), Norman, and Billie (Pat) and sister in law Nancy Shingledecker, proud grandmother of four, also surviving many nieces and nephews. Flo worked as a Nurses Aid for many years she had a special heart in helping the elderly. Flo also loved watching football, (GO BILLS) and Nascar racing. A special thank you to Niagara Hospice and the a very special nurse April. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family in White Chapel Memorial Park.

    James K. Shingledecker, age 63, of North Tonawanda, died Monday, August 6, 2018 at his residence after a long illness. Born September 1, 1954 in the Town of Tonawanda, he was the son of the late James and Betty (nee Witkopf) Shingledecker. A lifelong resident of the Tonawandas, he worked construction until becoming ill.
    He was the husband of Nancy (nee Solack) Shingledecker; father of Hope Linville of Amherst, Bridgette (Bruce Howitt) Alringer of Depew, Jolene (Sebastian) Zirilli of Tonawanda, Jacob (Lisa) Shingledecker of North Tonawanda, and the late Robert Linville and James P. Shingledecker; brother of Terri Maracle of Canada, Frank Shingledecker of North Tonawanda, Andy (Cynthia) Shingledecker of Tonawanda, Malissa (Michael) Kuntz of North Tonawanda, Norman Shingledecker of Tonawanda, Jessie Shingledecker of Cheektowaga, Billy (Patty) Shingledecker of Akron, Florence Matters of North Tonawanda, and the late Harold Shingledecker and Bonnie Matthews; and nephew of Alice Lorich of North Tonawanda. Also surviving are 8 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
    There is no visitation. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 1 at Veteran's Park Shelter #1 on Niagara Street in Tonawanda, beginning at 12 Noon. Friends invited. If desired, memorials to help the family are preferred.
