Zygmont, died Friday (June
10, 1960) at the home of her
daughter, Mrs. Walter Luszczewski,
2941 Nevada Ave*. .
Born in Poland, Mrs. Zygmont
was a resident of the
Town of Niagara for more
than 50 years. She lived at
4013 Hyde Park Blvd., for 48
years before her illness two
years ago.
She was a member of Group
No. 606, Polish Women's Alliance
of America; Group No.
276, St. Michael's Polish Rc~
man Catholic Union of America;
and of the Holy Rosary
Society of St. Stanislaus Kostka
Church, Niagara Falls. She
also was a member of other
civic and c h u r c h organizations.
In addition to her son and
daughter, survivors include
two o t h e r daughters, Mrs.
Walter Walas, Wilson, and
Mrs. Leonard Cantara, Lewiston;
eight grandchildren, one
great grandchild, and several
nieces and nephews. Two sisters
and a brother also survive
in Poland.
Funeral services will be held
at 0:45 a.m. Tuesday at the
Tubinis Funeral Home, Niagara
Falls, and at 9:30 a.m. at
St. Teresa of the I n f a nt
Jesus Church where a Solemn
Requiem Mass will be offered.
Burial will be In the
family plot in Holy Trinity
Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral
home after 1 p.m. Sunday.

ROCHESTER — Genevieve (Zygmont) Cantara, 93 years old, passed away on December 18, 2011, at Hill Haven Nursing Home in Rochester. Mrs. Cantara, formerly of Kline Road in Niagara Falls, was born on June 24, 1918 in Niagara Falls, the daughter of the late George and Josephine (Wuastyk) Zygmont. She attended St. Stanislaus Parochial School and was a graduate of Niagara Falls High School.

Mrs. Cantara worked as a clerk at Mount St. Mary's Hospital in their Business Office for 15 years, and retired in 1988. She enjoyed caring for her family.

Mrs. Cantara is survived by her daughter, Marcia Cantara of Rochester; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her best friend of many years, Arlene Jerla. Mrs. Cantara was predeceased by her husband, Leonard "Curly" Cantara, who passed away on April 12, 1981; and by her daughter, Patricia Gadawski. She was also predeceased by her brother, Casey Zygmont and her sisters, Jeanette Luszczewski and Bernice Walas.

Friends may call on Wednesday from 4 until 7 PM at the LABUDA FUNERAL HOME, INC., 356 Portage Road. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, at 10:00 AM, at Holy Trinity Cemetery Chapel, 5401 Robert Street, Lewiston, with Rev. Jacek P. Mazur officiating.

Casimer J. "Casey" Zygmont, 88 years old, of the Town of Niagara, died January 20, 2009 at Mt. St. Mary's Hospital. He was born in Niagara Falls on February 18, 1920, the son of the late George and Josephine Zygmont. Mr. Zygmont attended St. Mary's High School and attended St. Bonaventure University for one year before enlisting in the United States Army Air Corps. He served his country from August 31, 1942 until his honorable discharge on October 2, 1945, with the rank of Sergeant. He was awarded the European African Middle Eastern Theater Ribbon with 3 Bronze Stars, the Distinguished Unit Citation with one Oak Leaf Cluster and the Good Conduct Medal. He served as the Town of Niagara Town Justice for 42 years, retiring in 1992. He was employed as a Lab Technician for 30 years at the former Kimberly Clark Corp. and retired in 1975. Mr. Zygmont also served on the Town of Niagara Town Board for 10 years. He was a member of St. Leo's Church. Mr. Zygmont's family was everything to him. He enjoyed spending his time bird watching, gardening and swimming.Mr. Zygmont is survived by his wife, Philippinesomena Phyllis(Pasqualichio) Zygmont of the Town of Niagara and his sons, Jeffrey (Donna) Zygmont of Salem, NH and Casey Zygmont of Santa Rosa, CA. He is survived by his grandchildren, Erik Zygmont, Greta Zygmont Wilson and Sarah Stack and his great-grandchildren, Madeleine Zygmont, John Wilson and Francis Stack. He is also survived by his sister, Genevieve Cantara of Rochester, Monroe County, NY. He was predeceased by his son, Mark Zygmont; his grandson, Casimer Zachary Zygmont and his sisters, Jeanette Luszczewski and Bernice Walas. Friends may call on Friday from 1 to 4 PM and 6 to 8 PM at the LABUDA FUNERAL HOME, INC., 356 Portage Road. Friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday at 10:00 AM at St. Vincent dePaul Parish at St. Leo's, 2748 Military Road, with Rev. Robert Hughson officiating. WILSON —
Walter "Wally" Walas, age 63, formerly of Cambria Wilson Townline Rd. in Wilson died on Sunday, January 6, 2013 in the Absolut Care of Gasport after a lengthy illness. Wally was born on August 13, 1949 in Niagara Falls, NY, the son of the late Walter and Bernice (Zygmont) Walas.
He was a 1968 graduate of Wilson High School and had attended Niagara University. Wally worked for a number of years for Smith Sales in Amherst, NY. He was one of the founders of the Wilson-Ransomville Youth Football League and enjoyed socializing with his friends.
He is survived by a brother, Larry Walas; a nephew, Eric Siernacki; his friend, Bruce Charbonneau; two sons, and an adopted daughter. He was predeceased by a sister, Loretta Siernacki.
Services are private at the convenience of the family. There is no visitation. Arrangements have been entrusted to the HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, 3648 Ransomville Road, Ransomville.

ROCHESTER — Patricia Ann Cantara, 60 years old, died June 23, 2011, in Rochester, while under the care of Hospice. She was born in Niagara Falls on April 6, 1951, the daughter of Genevieve and the late Leonard Cantara.

Pattie attended St. Theresa’s Parochial School, Madonna High School, D’Youville College and Niagara University. She was a well-known, respected and loved educator in both the Catholic Diocese of Buffalo and the Niagara Falls Public School System, until her disability retirement.

In addition to her mother, Genevieve, Pattie is also survived by her sister, Marcia Cantara and her children, Loc Tran (Tracy), Vi Au (Bac), David Nguyen (Donna Kenny), Paul Gadawski and Tim Gadawski, and their father, Robert Gadawski. Pattie is survived by her life partner, Ronald Damrath and his sons, Donald and David Damrath; her loving grandchildren, Tianna, Lianna, Katie and Philip; many wonderful cousins, nieces, nephews, friends and her loyal companion, Tasha.

Friends are invited to attend a memorial service on Saturday, July 9, 2011, at 10:30 AM, at the Historic Holy Trinity Church, 1419 Falls Street, Niagara Falls, NY 14303.
