    Road, where he resided for
    the last 20 years, died Thursday
    (Sept. 21, 1961) at Mt.
    View Hospital, Lockport. He
    had been a patient there for
    six weeks.
    Mr. Wilkins was born May
    30, 1895, in Newfane, son of
    the late Augustus H. and Ernestine
    Behnke Wilkins. He
    was a farmer most of his life
    and was. employed by Steen
    Lumber Co., Newfane, for
    several years. His wife, the
    former Gertrude M. Bundrock,
    died in 1934.
    Surviving are two daughters,
    Mrs Laverene Sattelberg
    of Newfane and Mrs. Williard
    Zastrow of the Town of Cambria;
    a son. Earl Wilkins of
    Newfane; two sisters, Mrs.
    Winclla Goodlander of Lockport
    and Mrs. Florence Wyman
    of N e w f a n e ; four
    brothers, August Wilkins of
    Newfane, Fred Wilkins of
    Lockport, Willis Wilkins of
    Spcncerport and Elmer Wilkins
    of North Ridge, and 10
    grandchildren.

    Road, died today (June 17,1966) in Lockport
    Memorial Hospital, where he had been a patient for
    the last four days.
    He was born Dec. 1, in
    Newfane, the son of John and
    Gertrude Bundrock Wilkins,
    and had been a resident here
    all his life. He was a veteran
    of World War II.
    Mr. Wilkins was employed
    as a machine operator at the
    Lockport Felt Co. here. He
    was an active member of
    Miller Hose fire - company
    and a member of St. John's
    Lutheran Church, Burt.
    He married the former
    Ruth Brier on June 3, 1948.
    Survivors i n c l u d e his,
    widow; two sons, Richard
    and Clifford, and a daughter,
    Mary Carol Wilkins, all at
    home; two sisters, Mrs, La-
    Verne (Betty) Sattelberg,
    Newfane, and Mrs. Willard
    (Shirley) Zastrow, Cambria.
    Rev. William Dallman will
    conduct services at 2 p.m.
    Sunday at the Keweth H.
    Sherrie Funeral Home. Burial

    (Town of Cambria) - Shirley A. Zastrow, age 78, of Lower Mt. Rd., died Saturday, December 6, 2008 at her residence, under the loving care of her family and Niagara Hospice.Mrs. Zastrow was born June 12, 1930 in the Town of Newfane, the daughter of the late John and Gertrude (Miller) Wilkins. On May 20, 1950, she married Willard F. Zastrow. Willard predeceased her on October 6, 2007. Shirley worked in the house-keeping department at the Intercommunity Memorial Hospital in Newfane for 10 years, retiring in 1982. She was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church at North Ridge and a member of the former Ladies Auxiliary of the Cambria Volunteer Fire Co. Shirley enjoyed hunting with her husband and going to the flea markets.She is survived by her children, Douglas W. Zastrow, Donald F. Zastrow, Darlene A. Zastrow and Duane W. Zastrow, all of the Town of Cambria; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Betty Sattelberg and two brothers, Earl and Carl Wilkins.Friends may call at HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, 3648 Ransomville Road, Ransomville on Monday from 7-9 PM and Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM.     Osceloa Court, Orlando, Fla., died Sunday._ (July 30,
    1967) at Orange Memorial Hospital from injuries suffered
    in an automobile accident Sunday.

    July 16, 1949, a son of Ruth
    Drier Wilkins and the late Earl
    A. Wilkins.
    He was graduated from Boone
    High School, Orlando, in June;
    He lived in INewfane until a
    year ago and attended Newfane
    Central School. He was a
    member of St. John's Lutheran
    Church and Troop 22 Boy Scouts
    of America.
    In addition to. his mother, he
    is survived by a brother, Clif-
    ford, of Orlando; a sister, Mary
    Carol; his maternal grandparents,
    Mr. and Mrs. Fred Drier,
    all of Orlando.
    Friends may call at the Ruthland-
    Corwin Funeral Home beginning
    at 7 p.m. Tuesday, and
    Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to
    9 p.m.
    Services will be held at 11 a.m.

    LAVERN'S OBITUARY

    MSgt (R) Lavern (Vern) Robert Sattelberg (Jr), 72 passed away January 1st, 2021 surrounded by his family in Angier, NC.

    Born in Lockport, New York on May 23, 1948 to Lavern (SR) and Betty Sattelberg, Vern lived in Newfane, NY until he joined the Air Force in 1968. Vern retired from the Air Force after 20 years of dedicated service. During his time in the Air Force, Vern found and married his bride Sharon and raised his two boys, Ryan and Eric.

    After his retirement from the Air Force, Vern worked his next 25 years as a contractor, supporting several different missions working with the T-38’s and F-4’s at Holloman Air Force Base. In 2015, Vern finally retired and would spend as much time as he could with his three grandchildren (Audrey, Jackson, Reese). When he was not spending time with family, he would be found at the Holloman golf course with his golfing buddies. Vern and Sharon supported both of their boys during their time in the Army and would travel around the world visiting them wherever they were serving at the time.

    Vern spent much of his time volunteering throughout the community, especially with supporting the numerous sporting events Ryan and Eric participated in. He volunteered with the local pee-wee football league, Babe Ruth baseball, and throughout several high school sports. Vern spent over 20 years volunteering with the La Luz Volunteer Fire Department rising to the rank of Assistant Chief.

    Vern will be remembered as a loving brother, husband, father, and grandfather. He cherished his family and instilled strong family values in everyone.

    He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Lavern (SR) and Betty Sattelberg.

    Vern leaves behind a beautiful family- survived by his wife of forty-three years TSgt (R) Sharon of Angier, NC, his sons SGM (R) Ryan Sattelberg (Sarah) of Holly Springs, NC and MAJ Eric Sattelberg (Kirk) of Wiesbaden Germany, and his grandchildren, Audrey, Jackson, and Reese Sattelberg. He is also survived by his sisters Gertrude (Kevin) Stahl of Middleport, NY, Norma (Frank) Lown of Newfane, NY, and Christine Sattelberg of Newfane, NY as well as several nieces and nephews.

    Cremation has taken place, and a memorial celebration will be held on Saturday, June 19th at 3pm at Scenic Chapel in Alamogordo New Mexico.

    Douglas W. Zastrow, age 60, of Lockport, died on Friday, January 11, 2013 in Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital in Amherst, NY, after a lengthy illness. Doug was born on February 4, 1952 in Newfane, the son of the late Willard F. and Shirley (Wilkins) Zastrow.
    He was a 1970 graduate of Starpoint High School. Doug was an assembly line worker, employed by GM Harrison Radiator/Delphi in Lockport for 30 years, retiring in 2001. He was an avid hunter, NY Yankees Fan, and sports enthusiast. Doug enjoyed bowling, baseball, golf, and watching football. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren.
    He is survived by a son, Robert D. (Andrea) Zastrow; a daughter, Veronica (Norman) Thuman, both of Lockport; his grandchildren, Kenneth, Nicholas, Kelsey, Norman, III, Jacob, Aliyah, Rebecca, Gabriela, and Isabella; a brother, Duane W. Zastrow of Clayton, NC; a sister, Darlene A. Zastrow of the Town of Cambria; a cousin, Christine Sattelberg and her daughter, Amanda; two nephews, Chad and Jeremy (Amie) Zastrow; and a great-nephew, Cyrus Zastrow. He was predeceased by a brother, Donald F. Zastrow.

    LOCKPORT — Donald F. Zastrow, age 57, of the Town of Cambria, died Tuesday, December 14, 2010 in Niagara Hospice House in Lockport, after a lengthy illness.

    Don was born June 21, 1953 in Lockport, the son of the late Willard F. and Shirley A. (Wilkins) Zastrow. He was a 1971 graduate of Starpoint High School and had served in the U. S. Marine Corps, honorably discharged in 1973. Don worked for Bob McCollum Farms in the Town of Cambria for 20 years.

    He is survived by a sister, Darlene A. Zastrow of the Town of Cambria; two brothers, Douglas W. Zastrow of the Town of Cambria and Duane W. Zastrow of North Carolina; his nieces and nephews, Chad and Jeremy Zastrow, Veronica (Norman) Thuman and Rob (Andrea) Zastrow; and cousin, Christine Sattleberg and her daughter, Amanda, who helped him throughout his illness.

    Don had requested that his body be donated to the Anatomical Gift Program at the University of Buffalo. His family will be present to receive friends at HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, 3648 Ransomville Rd., Ransomville on Saturday from 5:30 – 8:00 PM. Flowers are gratefully declined.
