C. Fred Hartwig, 86, formerly od 746 Spruce Ave, died today (Nov 16, 1967 in the Lutheran Home Jamestown. Mr. Hartwig was a retired pattern maker and had worked for many years for the old Niagara Pattern Works here. He was born in Niagara Falls and lived here until his moving to Jamestown a few years ago. Mrs. Hartwig was a life long member of Zion Lutheran Church here and for 30 years a member of the Church Council. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Lucille Hartwig, who lives with a daughter, Mrs. Louis (Lucille) Hartmeister, Jamestown; another daughter. Mrs. William (Ruth) Kaestner, Old Greenwich, Conn., a brother, Hugo Hartwig, and a sister, Mrs. John (Ella) Maggs, both of this city and a sister, Mrs. William (Gertrude) Holland, Kenmore. He was a brother of the late John and Felix Hartwig and the late Mrs. Ann Sarginson, all of whom died recently. Funeral services will be held Sunday at the Cornell& Daggett Funeral Chapel at 2 p.m., with the Rev. Paul R. Swank, pastor of Zion Lutheran church, officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday and from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday.

John C. Hartwig, 84, of 430 Elmwood Ave., died Sunday (Oct. 8, 1967) at his home. Mr. Hartwig was born in Tonawanda and lived in this city for the last 55 years. He retired from the former Niagara Falls Power Co. 19 years ago. He also worked in various foundries. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Agnes Hartwig; three daughters, Mrs. Lawrence (Geraldine) Lasher, Mrs. George (Anna) Grier, both of this city, and Mrs. Henry (Helen) Cummings of Colton, Calif.; three sons, John W., Donald R. and Daniel L. Hartwig, all of this city; two brothers, Hugo Hartwig of this city, and Fred Hartwig of Jamestown; two sisters, Mrs. Ella Maggs of this city and Mrs. Gertrude Holland of Kenmore; 16 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at the Gridley Funeral Home Wednesday at 1:30 p.m, Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call from 1 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Ex-Resident Dies on Coast
Mrs. Helen Cummings, 62, a former resident of this city, died Friday (March 19, 1971), in Colton, Calif., where she had resided with her husband for several years. Mrs. Cummings, the former Helen Hartwig, was born here July 19, 1909 and attended local schools. She moved from the city with her husband, Henry, several years ago. In addition to her husband she is survived by her mother, Mrs. Agnes Hartwig, this city; three brothers, John W., Donald R., and Daniel Hartwig, and two sisters, Mrs. Lawrence (Geraldine) Lasher and Mrs. George (Ann) Grier, also of this city. She is also survived by several aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. Funeral arrangements being made in Colton are incomplete.

Jeanette C. Haseley, a former accounting clerk at Moore Business Forms, died Wednesday (Dec. 11, 1996) in Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center, Mattoon , ILl., after a brief illness. The former Jeanette Hartwig, 72, was living in Charleston, ILl., for the past five years. She was born in the cataract city and was a graduate of Niagara Falls High School. Mrs. Haseley worked at Moore Business Forms for several years. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Charleston, and its Ladies Aid, where she was a former secretary. She was also a volunteer with assembling Braille books for the blind in Charleston. Her husband, Wilbur J., died in 1961. Survivors include a son, Paul of Broken Arrow, Okla.; two daughters, Carolyn Campbell of Charleston and Merle Davis of Saco, Maine; a sister, Norma Koch; six grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter. Services will be held at 11 A.M. Monday in St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, 18th Street and Cleveland Avenue. Burial will be in Riverdale Cemetery, Lewiston.

Norma O. Koch, lifetime resident of Niagara Falls, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 11, 2017.  She was 87.  She was born in Niagara Falls on August 24, 1930, a daughter of the late Felix and Marie (Hertel) Hartwig.  She attended local schools and graduated from Niagara Falls High School and the Deaconess School of Nursing.
Norma married John Koch in 1951 and together they formed Koch Tile in 1954, which they successfully ran until John’s passing in 1987 at which time their son Douglas took over and continues to run the business to this day. She also volunteered with Meals on Wheels, where she served as finance officer, and she loved sewing, gardening, bowling and was an avid classical music fan.
Mrs. Koch is survived by her three children: Deborah Lee (Gary) Panton, Sharon Maerten and Douglas Koch, 5 grandchildren: Kevin Maerten, Andrew (Alexis) Maerten, Alison (Darrell) Borkenhagen, Danielle Koch and Deanna Koch and three great-grandchildren: Jocelyn, Brooklyn and Darren Borkenhagen.
In Addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by two siblings: William Hartwig and Jeanette (Hartwig) Haseley.
There will be no visitation and funeral services will be held Thursday, December 14 at 11 AM at St. Paul Evangelical Church, 18th Street and Cleveland Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY 14301, followed by burial in St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery in Bergholz.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Paul Evangelical Church or Meals on Wheels, 1920 18th Street, Niagara Falls 14304.
