    POERSCHKE - Agnes A. Poerschke, 65, died Wednesday morning Dec. 30, 1953 in Deaconess Hospital. Mrs. Poerschke is survived by her husband, William and was the mother of Mrs. Paul Ferchen, Bergholtz; Harold, Mrs. Wallace Werth and Mrs. Robert Rockett. Seven grandchildren also survive. All are from North Tonawanda. A brother, Edward Fehrman, and sister, Mrs. William Proefrock, also survive. Funeral services will be at2:30 p.m. Sunday from the family residence, 522 Prospect Ave. The Rev. Paul H. Gassmann will officiate. Interment in St. Matthew’s Lutheran Cemetery.

    Proefrock - Elsie F Proefrock, 87, of North Tonawanda Saturday (August 9, 1980) at DeGraff Memorial Hospital after a lengthy illness. Mrs. Proefrock was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church, the Ladies Guild and a member of Sweeney Hose Volunteer Fire Co. Auxiliary.

    She is survived by a son, Laverne Bertha) Proefrock of North Tonawanda; two grandchildren, Mrs. David (Arly) Roberts and North Tonawanda and Marlin (Cindy) Proefrock of the Town of Pendleton; four grandchildren, Guy (Regina) Roberts, Paul, Thomas and Mark Roberts, all of North Tonawanda and one great-grandchild, Joshua Roberts.

    Friends may call at the Fretthold Funeral home Inc., 1241 Oliver St. at Ward Rd., North Tonawanda, this evening from 7 to 9. Services will be held at the funeral home Tuesday at 11 a.m. - the Rev. A.W. Moldenhauer will officiate. Interment in St. Matthew Lutheran Cemetery. If so desired, memorials may be made to St. Matthew Lutheran Church.

The Rev. Ernest W. Dietz, will conduct service at 2 pm. Friday in the Fretthotd Funeral Home and at 2:30 p.m. at St, James Lutheran Church. Burial will be in St. James Lutheran Cemetery

    Proefrock - Laverne W Proefrock, age 73, of North Tonawanda, Thursday (April 15, 1983) in DeGraff Memorial Hospital. Mr. Proefrock was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Gratwick Hose Fire Co., the Firemen's Benevolent Assoc. and the American Legion Post #264. Mr. Proefrock was a former employee of Bell Aerospace and was a former North Tonawanda alderman. He was the husband of the late Bertha (nee Sahr) Proefrock who died February 27, 1993.

    He is survived by a son, Marlin Proefrock of Wheatfield and a daughter, Mrs. David (Arly) Roberts of North Tonawanda; four grandchildren, Guy (Regina) Roberts of Wheatfield, Paul (Jodi) Roberts of Wheatfield, Tom and Mark Roberts, both at home; three great-grandchildren, Joshua, Adam and Jessica Roberts.

    Friends may call at the Fretthold Funeral Home, Inc., 1241 Oliver St. at Ward Rd. in North Tonawanda Saturday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral services will be held Sunday at 3:00 p.m.; the Rev. A.W. Moldenhauer will officiate. Interment in St. Matthew Lutheran Cemetery.

    Jane E. Garis (nee Werth) age 82, of Niagara Falls, died October 10, 2020 at her home, under the care of Niagara Hospice. She had worked as a secretary for the Carborundum Company and served as secretary of the Niagara Falls Junior Football Club. She was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church and served on the Altar Guild, as a Greeter and as a Sunday School Teacher. She was the daughter of the late Wallace and Nina (Poerschke) Werth.
    She was the wife of the late Robert J. Garis who died in 2004. Beloved mother of Daniel (Cathy Sullivan) Garis of Niagara Falls, Michael (Erin) Garis of North Carolina and Karin Garis of Niagara Falls. Grandmother of Matthew and Hannah Garis and Rachel Kemp. Sister of John (Cathy) Werth and Norene (Victor) Mazylewski, aunt of several nieces and nephews.
    Friends may call at the Fretthold Funeral Home Inc. 1241 Oliver St. at Ward Rd. in North Tonawanda on Tuesday 4 -7 P.M. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday at 10:30 A.M., the Rev. Kenneth Craig will officiate, interment in St. Matthew Lutheran Cemetery. If so desired memorials may be made to St. Matthew Lutheran Church.
