NORTH TONAWANDA. Nov. 21 - A lifelong resident of North Tonawanda, Mrs. Apolonla Thlele, 67, of 182 Payne avenue, died Saturday at DeGraff Memorial hospital. Services were held at 2:30 pm. today. from the Hamp Funeral home, 37 Adam street, the Rev. Theophilus Berner officiating. Burial was in White Chapel Memorial park. Mrs. Thiele was a member of St. Martin's Luther church. Survivors include her husband, Robert W.; a daughter, Mrs. Benjamin Sattelberg. North Tonawanda: a son, Ervin Thiele, North Tonawanda; three sisters, Mrs. Adolph Thlele. Mrs. Louis Sattelberg and Mrs. Walter Denef; three brothers, John Billings, Town of Pendleton, and Carl and George Billings, of the Tonawandas.

Mrs. Esther Thiele Dies At Home in Wheatfield
NORTH TONAWANDA; Aug. 16 - Mrs. Esther Belling Thiele, 72, of Shawnee Rd., Town of Wheatfield, died today (Aug. 16, 1955) at her home after a long illness. A member of St. Martin's Evangelical Lutheran Church and its Sunshine Society, Mrs. Thiele was a life member of the Women's Missionary Foundation. She is survived by her husband, Adolph Thiele; two sons, Eugene and Leonard Thiele, and five grandchildren, all of the Town of Wheatfield; two sisters, Mrs. Ella Sattelberg and Mrs. Gertrude Denef, both of the Town of Amherst, and three brothers, John, Carl, and George Belling, all of this city, survive. The Rev. Arthur Horning will conduct funeral services at the home at 2:30 p.m. Thursday and at 3 o'clock at St. Mark's Church. Interment will be in White Chapel Cemetery, Memorial Park.

NORTH TONAWANDA, - John G. Belling, 83, of 7205 Townline Road, Pendleton, a retired farmer, died Thursday (Oct. 12, 1967) in DeGraff Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. He formerly operated a farm in Pendleton and also one in the Town of Amherst, Erie County. He was a lifelong resident of the area and a member of St. Martin Lutheran Church. His wife, the former Elsie Wolf, died in 1950. Survivors include a son, Ralph Belling, Pendleton; two daughters, Naomi Belling, Gowanda, and Mrs. Marvin (Ruth) Wendt, Sanborn; two sisters, Mrs, Walter (Gertrude) Denef. and MrsElla Sattelberg, both of Amherst; two- brothers, George Belling, Wheatfield, and Carl Belling, Amherst, and six grandchildren. Mr. Belling died Saturday night (Nov. 17, 1968) in Veterans Administration Hospital, Buffalo, after a long illness. He was born in the Town of Amherst and resided in the
Town of Wheatfield most of his life; He formerly was employed by the Carborundum Co. in Niagara Falls and Wheatfield for 20 years. He retired in 1956.

Mr. Belling was a World War I Army veteran, and a member of St. Martin Lutheran Church. His wife, the former Josephine Knoell, died in December 1966 in an automobile accident. Survivors include three sons, Paul, of Marlboo, Conn., George of
Charleston, W. Va., and Theodore of this city; two daughters, Ms. William Grove of Geneseo, N.Y., and Miss Dorothy Belling of Kensington, Md.; a brother, Carl and two sisters, Mrs. Ella Sattelburg and Mrs. Gertrude Denef, all of the Town of Amherst, and 14 grandchildren.

Leonard Thiele Dies in Hospital
NORTH TONAWANDA-Leonard Thiele, 50, of 7491 Shawnee Road, Wheatfield, died unexpectedly Thursday (July 2, 1964). He was stricken while at his place of business and was pronounced dead on arrival at DeGraff Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Thiele was a lifelong resident of Wheatfield and, was co-owner of the Thiele Coal and Feed Corp. and co-owner also of the Witnauer Fuel Co. Inc.
He was a member of St. Martin Lutheran I Church, in which he was a Sunday school teacher for 32 years and served on the Church Council for six years. He was also a member of the Thiele was a member of the church. (sic)
In other associations, Mr. Theile was a member of the board of directors of the Niagara Savings and Loan Association, a director of the Empire State Petroleum Association, a member of the Oil Heat Institute of Buffalo. In the latter organization, he was chosen "Man of the Year" in 1962. He was a director of the Eastern Federation of Feed Merchants and formerly served on the United Community Fund campaign here.
Survivors include his widow, Elizabeth Mackinsen Thiele; a daughter, Mrs. William (Marie) Cole; a son, Paul Thiele, and a brother, Eugene Thiele, all of this area.

She was born Aug. 30, 1918, in Amherst, the daughter of John G. and Elsie A. (Wolf) Belling. She lived at the manor since July 9, 1991.
Miss Belling was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Martin Lutheran Church in North Tonawanda.
She is survived by a brother, Ralph Belling of North Tonawanda; a sister Ruth O. Wendt of Sanborn; and several nieces and nephews.

Ruth O. Wendt, 86, of Sanborn, NY passed away peacefully Sunday, May 20th, 2007 at DeGraff Memorial Hospital, North Tonawanda, New York.
Mrs. Wendt was born in Amherst, Erie County, NY on October 26, 1920, the daughter of the late John and Elfie [ Wolf ] Belling. She was a longtime member of St. Peter Lutheran Church - Walmore Sanborn, NY. She enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening and caring for her family.
Ruth was predeceased by her husband of 52 years, Marvin W. Wendt, who died on August 20, 1996.
Surviving are he loving children, Kathleen [ Duane ] Goss, Lance [ Debra ] Wendt, Janelle [ Donald ] Kroening, Lynette [ Ronald ] Sessman; a brother Ralph [ Donna ] Belling, 11 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, brother in-laws, Donald Wendt, Glenn [ Jean ] Wendt, Kenneth [ Diane ] Wendt, Forrest Wendt, sister-in-laws, Gracellyn [ John ] Bilek, Noreen and Darla Wendt. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Naomi Belling; brother-in-laws, Bertram and William B. Wendt, Jr.; sister-in-laws, Dorothy and Gail Wendt.

BUFFALO - Ralph E. Belling, of the Town of Pendleton, NY, passed away on Friday, January 28, 2011, at Millard Fillmore Hospital Gates Circle, Buffalo, NY. He was born in Amherst, NY, on September 25, 1922, the son of John and Elsie (Wolf) Belling.

Mr. Belling grew up and had worked on his family’s farm for over 28 years before becoming a mixer with the Durez Chemical Co. in North Tonawanda for 17 years, before retiring in 1984. He delivered food for the Interfaith Food Pantry in North Tonawanda and was a member of the Wendleville Senior Citizens. Mr. Belling enjoyed spending time with his family and taking care of his pets.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Donna F. (Hartman) Belling; two sons, Roger J. (Rebecca) Belling of Wheatfield and Roy D. (Patti) Belling of Sanborn; two grandchildren, Kimberly and Kevin; one great-granddaughter, Ella. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Mr. Belling was the brother of the late Naomi Belling and Ruth Wendt.

The family will be present at the RHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 5893 Hoover Road, Sanborn, NY, on Sunday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM. Theodore J. Belling, 90, died October 18, 2022, at home under hospice care. He was born February 17th, 1932, to Josephine (Knoll) and George Belling in North Tonawanda, New York. Ted graduated from Alfred University and served in the US Army. He married Ruth Bossart on March 6, 1954 and they had 5 children, Linda (James) McOmber, Pamela, Douglas (Marianne) Belling, Tina
Benjamin and Laurie (Timothy) Jekel. He retired from Niagara County Department of Planning and Development. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening, bird watching and traveling.
Ted is survived by his spouse and children, a sister, Mary Grove, 12 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

TONAWANDA — Paul L. Thiele, age 66, of the Town of Wheatfield, March 28, 2010, in Millard Fillmore Hospital, Buffalo. Mr. Thiele was a 1961 graduate of North Tonawanda High School and a 1965 graduate of Capital University. He served as a Sergeant in the U.S. Air Force in Vietnam. He was the President of Thiele Inc. and was a member and Regional Vice-President of ESPA, and was a member of other trade organizations. He was an active member of St. Martin Lutheran Church, having served as Choir Director, Treasurer, President, Trustee, Sunday School teacher and Youth Group Director; he had served as the Treasurer of the Regional Youth Group Gathering. He was a Board member of the Tonawanda and Buffalo Chapters of the American Red Cross and First President of NY Penn Regional Blood Services.

Kathleen Marcia Goss, 69, of Sanborn, NY, died peacefully on Friday, February 20, 2015. She was born in Niagara Falls, NY and was a lifelong resident of Sanborn, NY and was a member of St. Peters Lutheran Church in Sanborn, NY. She with her husband, Duane, wintered in Fruitland Park, FL. She had worked at Cherry Bank Farms and H.A. Treichler & Sons Greenhouses, both in Sanborn. She loved cooking, gardening and crafts and adored her family, especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Duane N. Goss; daughter, Melanie (Dan) Melvin of Fruitland Park, FL; sons, Bryan (fiance'e Karyn Fox) Goss of Cornelius, NC, and Dennis (Julie) Goss of Sanborn, NY; four grandchildren, Devin Melvin, Nathan Melvin, Ella Goss and Brocton Goss; brother, Lance (Debbie) Wendt of Niagara Falls, NY; sisters, Janelle Kroening and Lynnette (Ron) Sessman both of Sanborn, NY; and several nieces and nephews.

Kathleen M. (Wendt) Goss, 69, of Sanborn, NY, passed away peacefully at her Florida home on Friday, February 20, 2015. Kathy was born in Niagara Falls, NY on March 26, 1945 and was a lifelong resident of Sanborn, NY. She attended Niagara Wheatfield High School and was a member of St. Peters Lutheran Church in Sanborn, NY. Where she married Duane Goss on February 12, 1966. Together they raised their family in Sanborn and enjoyed their retirement by wintering in Fruitland Park, FL. Kathy worked at Cherry Bank Farms and H.A. Treichler & Sons Greenhouses, both in Sanborn for several years. Kathy was also an active member of the Sanborn Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary where she volunteered for 38-years and served as President, Vice President, Treasure, Secretary and Food Chairman. Kathy also organized the first annual "Light Up Sanborn" holiday event. She loved cooking, canning gardening and crafts and adored her entire family, especially her grandchildren.

She was the daughter of the late Marvin and Ruth (Belling) Wendt. Kathy is survived by her husband, Duane N. Andrew Scott Belling, 57, of Lewisville, NC, formerly of North Tonawanda, Wednesday January 11, 2023 . Andrew was born in North Tonawanda on June 18, 1965 to David and Mona Lou (Campbell) Belling. Andrew is a graduate of Sweet Home Highschool class of 1983, Alfred State University with his bachelor of science in Ceramic Engineering, General Manager at Siemens Energy then Thermacraft Inc., he also held general manager and plant leadership positions for Morgan Technical Ceramics, Spectrum Control, AVX and Bourns. Andrew was predeceased by his father David Belling.
