Mrs. Inez Searles Craig
Private funeral services at the
home and at Mt Hope chapel were
conducted Saturday, by Rev. L Vincent
Lloyd, for Mrs. Inez Searles
Craig. 68. wife of Dr. Charles S.
Craig, who passed away Thursday
morning. January 2.
Until her fatal illness, she was active
in the Tuesday Book Club and
the Hilton Baptist Church.
Born in Jeddo. near Lockport, Mrs.
Craig was a graduate of Brockport
Normal School and taught school at
Brockport and Knapps Corners before
her marriage to Dr. Craig.
After their marriage, they lived in
Hamlin until 1917, when the family
moved to Hilton.
Besides her husband, she leaves two
daughters, Mrs. Gerald Tuttle of East
Rochester and Mrs. Vernon Stein-
mann of Rochester; two sons. Dr.
Frederick Craig of Hilton and Chas.
S Craig, Jr., of Lockport; four sisters,
Miss Pearl Searles, Mrs. Helen Fel-
lows, Mrs. Douglas Whitney and Mrs.
Arthur Watson, all of Lockport, and
three brothers. Lester and Stanley
Searles of Lockport and Frank
Searles of Niagara Falls; also four
grandchildren. Stephen and Elizabeth
Tuttle of East Rochester and Hope
and Todd Dee Craig of Hilton.

LOCKPORT. Oct. 22-Stricken
unexpectedly, Mrs. Bernice S. Williams,
wife of Ferdinand B. Williams,
died Saturday night at her
home, 29 Spruce street.
Mrs. Williams was born at Jeddo,
daughter of John and Catherine
Fuery Searles, but lived most of her
life in Lockport. She was a director
and treasurer of Locust Haven and
a former member of the Zonta club.
She had been a leader in the Western
circle of the Baptist church. Her
husband is an officer of the Williams
Brothers company.
Besides Mr. Williams, she leaves
two daughters, Mrs. Robert H. Ber-
gen, Williamsville, and Miss Imo-
gene R. Williams, Buffalo; two sis-
ters, Mrs. John K. Fellows and Mrs.
Douglas B. Whitney, Lockport. and
two brothers, Stanley E. and Lester
E. Searles, all of Lockport.
Funeral services will be held to
morrow at 2:30 p.m. at the home in
Spruce street. Burial will be in Cold
Springs cemetery.

Searles, 80, a retired pharmacist,
died at Mount View
Hospital Sunday, (Sept. 12,
1971), where he had been a
patient for the last six months.
A native of Jeddo, he was
born Aug. 10, 1891, the son of
John and Catherine Furry
Searles, and came to Lockport
as a boy. He was a graduate of
the University of Buffalo
School of Pharmacy and was
employed as a pharmacist for
the Reynolds and Pomeroy
Drug Store, Parsons Drug;
Store and Sweet and Brothy,
Drug Store, all in Lockport.
His wife, the former Ruth;
Gooding, died in 1949. He is.
