He was received into the Kingdom of God by the Sacrament of Holy Baptism on August 20, 1922 at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Amherst Township, Marcus, Iowa.

He attended country school, Amherst # 6, through all eight grades, the same school his father attended. Following eighth grade graduation, he attended daily confirmation school at Trinity for one school year, culminating in the public confession of his faith in Christ at the Rite of Confirmation on March 22, 1937.

After graduating from Marcus High School in 1941, he continued to farm with his father, lovingly tilling the soil, caring for the animals, never complaining about the long, hard, and sometimes difficult labor.

In March 1951, the family moved to a farm five miles southeast of Larrabee, Iowa for 26 years. In 1977, he returned to the family farm to care for his 85-year-old father for another 16 years.

In the mid 1950's Kendall and his family joined the fellowship of faith, service, weekly worship and Bible class at Trinity Lutheran Church in Cherokee, Iowa. In the mid 1990's he and Lulu transferred back to Trinity, Marcus.

He inherited his musical talent from his parents and grandfather Albert Fred Pfaffle. He enjoyed playing violin with the Little Sioux Symphony for 40 years, and loved singing in the church choir.

Kendall transferred to the Church Triumphant, Paradise with Christ on March 16, 2002. His temporal home had been at the Heartland Care Center in Marcus.

The congregation at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, rural Marcus, celebrated his faith, resurrection of his Savior, and hope eternal for family, friends, and neighbors on March 19, 2002. Until his Lord comes again, he was buried at the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Marcus, Iowa.
