Rolfe, age 89, of Model City, NY, died Friday, November 27, 2009, at his residence, under the loving care of his family and Niagara Hospice.Irven was born May 23, 1920 in Pennsgrove, NJ, the son of the late Herman D. and Betsy (Robinson) Rolfe and had lived here for over 60 years. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of WW II. Irven served in the Army from Jan. of 1942 to Sept. of 1945, when he was honorably discharged with the rank of T-5. He was a heavy machine gunner with Company C of the 7th Engineering Battalion and took part in the Ardennes, Central Europe, Normandy, Northern France and Rhineland Campaigns. Irven was the recipient of the European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal and Ribbon with 1 Silver Service Star, the WW II Victory Medal and Ribbon, and the Good Conduct Medal. In 1947 he married Edna M. (Crewe) Rolfe, who predeceased him on June 22, 1981.Irven was a Payloader Operator for National Carbon Co. in Niagara Falls for over 30 years, retiring in 1984. He was a member of the V.F.W. Down River Post #7487 in Lewiston. Irven enjoyed gardening, horseshoes, playing cards, hunting and reading. He is survived by a son, Ronald Rolfe (fiancé Lois Charsley) of Niagara Falls; a daughter, Edna (Jack) Strope of Youngstown; his grandchildren, Dawn Strope and Stacey Walker; his great-grandchildren, Tyler, Anthony and Nicholas Walker; a sister, Louise Nelson of Niagara Falls; and his special friends, Dana VanDenBosch and Paige Cassatt. He was predeceased by a son, Edward Rolfe; three brothers, Donald, Edward and Stuart Rolfe; and two sisters, Marion Eddy and Thelma Piper.Friends may call at HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, N. Fourth and Ridge Streets, Lewiston, on Sunday from 3-8 PM. Funeral services will be held Monday, November 30th at 11:00 AM in the funeral home, with the Rev. Mark Auernhamer officiating.     Marion J. Mack Eady, (nee Rolfe), age 84, entered into rest on Monday, June 16, 2008 at Newfane Rehab and Health Care Center. Born December 22, 1923 in Rochester, Monroe County, NY, she was the daughter of the late Herman and Bessie (nee Robinson) Rolfe.Marion was a graduate of the Red Brick Schoolhouse in Lewiston and as Marion said, she had to walk uphill both ways. She had been married to the late Eldon “Mike” Eady, who died January 5, 1998, Roger W. Mack, who died December 23, 1970 and Edgar M. Mack, who died in 1943. She enjoyed bingo, bowling, quilting, sewing and playing cards with her family as long as she won.She is survived by her children, Judy (William) Lewis of Youngstown, Arlene Gebo of Newfane, Janet (James) Demmin of Lockport, Laura (John) Smith of Limestone, ME and Karen (Dwight) Johnson of Newfane. Sister of I. Louise Nelson of Niagara Falls and Irvin Rolfe of Model City, NY and the late Thelma Piper, E. Shorty Rolfe, C. Stuart Rolfe and Donald Rolfe.     Norma Hyla, 90, formerly of Lewiston Wife of the late Henry A. Hyla entered into rest on Monday August 26, 2019 at Our Lady of Peace.
    Norma was born March 17, 1929 in Springport, NY, the daughter of the late William R. Sr. and Thelma Mary Elizabeth (Roby-Rolfe) Piper.  She was a lifelong resident of Lewiston, graduating from the Lewiston Red Brick School House. Norma started working at the Lewiston Pharmacy (Jimmy Moran) on Center St. in Lewiston in 1950. She then worked at Coulsons Pharmacy from 1953 to 1996. Norma was a Pharmacy Clerk, Buyer, and Technician, an all round "Friday" person. She married Henry A. Hyla in November of 1947 and helped him with his American Liquor Store in Niagara Falls for many years. Henry predeceased her in 1997.
     
    Norma was an active volunteer at Art Park Theatre and Art Parks supporting cast; a volunteer at the Festival of Lights in Niagara Falls, NY; she held the office of President, Vice-President and Trustee with the Lewiston Fire Co. # 1 Ladies Auxiliary as well as being an active member on their various committees. Norma was a communicant of St. Peter's RC Church in Lewiston. She was a Bingo Volunteer since its start at St. Peter's, and was one of the workers in charge. She was a parish representative of Bishop Duffy Mothers Club in Niagara Falls and had worked on the Catholic Charities Appeal and at the rectory office at St. Peter's. Norma also volunteered at Fort Niagara in Youngstown for various functions and sewed uniforms for the enactors. She was a member of the Lewiston Council of Arts and was always doing things for her friends. She was the ticket Chairperson for the Village of Lewiston 1972 Sesquicentennial and Ball Chairperson for the 200 years bicentennial (American Revolution) in 1976, and volunteered at the Lewiston Peach Festival.
     
    She is survived by a son, Patrick (Jane) Hyla of Lake Zurich, IL; a grandson, Jeffrey (Holly) Hyla; a granddaughter, Victoria (Marco) Maldonado; 4 great grandchildren; a sister, Jean Piper of Ebenezer Co.; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three brothers, William, Lloyd, and Floyd Piper, and a sister, Marion Rozek.

    Eddy, was one of three children born to Irven & Edna (Crewe) Rolfe, he attended the Lewiston Porter School district and served in the US Army. He never married and loved being an 'Uncle'. During a boating accident on Lake Ontario, Eddy had made several rescue's & drowned while looking for other victims.

    Born August 17, 1948 in Niagara Falls, he was a son of the late Irven and Edna (Crew) Rolfe. Ron was a 1966 graduate of Lewiston Porter Central School.
    Ron worked as a truck driver his entire career. He last worked for Modern Landfill in Youngstown NY. He also was the bouncer at Apple Grannies in Lewiston.
    He was a member of the Moose Lodge and lifetime member of the Lewiston Volunteer Fire Department, having served actively from 1970 until 1995. Ron played Santa for over 50 years for area families in and around Western NY.
    Surviving is one sister, Edna (Jack) Strope of Model City, NY; two nieces, Stacey Walker and Dawn Ryals, three grand-nephews, Tyler, Anthony and Nicholas, three grand-nieces, Cassie, Savanah and Kimberly. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Edward Rolfe, who died in 1974.
    Family will be receiving friends on Saturday, April 21, 2018 from 11:00 AM to Noon in the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes, Inc., 33 South Avenue, Bradford, PA, at Noon. Funeral services will be held with Rev. Seth McClymonds, Jr., pastor of the First United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be on Tuesday, April 24, 2018, at 11:00 AM in Niagara Falls Memorial Park Cemetery in Lewiston, NY.

    David A. Rolfe, age 58 of the Town of Cambria, died Tuesday September 12, 2017 at his home after a lengthy illness.

    David was born August 8, 1959 in Niagara Falls, NY, the son of the late Charles and Frances (Gresart) Rolfe. He was a welder, employed by Hebler's Corp. in Tonawanda for the past 6 years. David had also served in the U.S. Army Reserves for a number of years. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing.

    He is survived by his siblings, twin brother Donald, Sharon Rolfe, Rhonda Kenner , Michael (Wendy), Paul (Krista), and Frank Rolfe, and Monia Earl; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Charles Rolfe and a sister, Charlene Hartman.

    Charlene E. (Rolfe) Hartman, 61, of Niagara Falls, NY, entered into rest on Saturday, November 3, 2012 at her residence, surrounded by her loving family. Born on November 20, 1950 in Niagara Falls, NY, she was the daughter of Frances (Gresart) Rolfe of Lockport, NY and the late Charles Rolfe.
    Charlene was a lifelong resident of Niagara Falls, NY. She attended local schools and graduated from Niagara-Wheatfield High School in 1969. On November 24, 1973, Charlene married Donald W. Hartman in Niagara Falls, NY. She was a homemaker and cared for her children, whether they were hers or not. Charlene was very strong-willed and did the best she could with what she had. She was a mom to many and will be greatly missed, but remember this isn't goodbye, but see you later. Charlene is in our hearts. Always cherish and hold dear to the memories you have. Remember don't take for granted what life gives you. We will love and miss her, for now, with memories forever cherished. She enjoyed listening to music and crocheting many blankets.
    In addition to her mother and husband, Charlene is survived by one daughter, Toni (John) Hahn of Lockport, NY; one son, Damon Hartman of Niagara Falls, NY; and one grandson, Ethan Hahn. She is also survived by nine siblings, Michael (Wendy) Rolfe of Niagara Falls, NY, Paul (Krissia) Rolfe of Ransomville, NY, Charles Rolfe of Niagara Falls, NY, Donald Rolfe of Lockport, NY, David Rolfe of Lockport, NY, Frank Rolfe of Niagara Falls, NY, Sharon Rolfe of Nevada, Monia Earl of Texas and Rhonda Keener of Lockport, NY; her mother-in-law, Ruth Hartman; her brothers and sisters-in-law, Daniel (June) Hartman, Dona Hartman, Deborah (Paul) Smith and Denise (Michael) Bergy; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her father, she was predeceased by her father-in-law, Donald B. Hartman.
    There will be no prior visitation. A private funeral service was held. Interment in Niagara Falls Memorial Park Cemetery, Lewiston, NY. If desired, memorial offerings may be made to Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Drive, Lockport, NY 14094. Arrangements were entrusted to the OTTO REDANZ FUNERAL HOME, 2215 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY (297-9007).

    Charles H. Rolfe, 62, of Niagara Falls, NY passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, June 1, 2016. Born in Niagara Falls, NY on November 16, 1953 he was the son of the late Charles and Frances (Gresart) Rolfe. Charles worked for Hebeler LLC as a fabricator and he enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.


    He is survived by his children, Cathy, Chuckie, James and Cody Rolfe; eight siblings, Sharon Rolfe, Rhonda Kneener, Michael(Wendy), Paul(Krissia), Donald, David, Frank Rolfe and Monia Earl; ex-wife Marjorie Tatroe and many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his sister, Charlene Hartman.


    Friends may call Tuesday, June 7th from 10 AM-1 PM at ZAJAC FUNERAL HOME INC., 319 24th Street, cor of Welch Ave, Niagara Falls, NY, where funeral services will begin at 12:30 PM with Rev. Charles Lamb officiating. Burial following in Niagara Falls Memorial Park Cemetery, Lewiston, NY. In Lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, P. O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123-1718.
