Of Sanborn, NY has gone home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 3, 2016. He was born in Buffalo, NY, on April 17, 1961, the son of Arthur (Jeanette) DeVole and the late Rita [Rutkowski] DeVole.
Kenny graduated from Niagara-Wheatfield High School in 1979. He has served with the New York Air National Guard for 38 years; also been previously employed by Calkins Lumber Co. in Sanborn, Delphi in Lockport, and was also a driver for Buffalo Limousine.
Kenny started his military career with the United States Army in 1978. In 1982 he left the Army in order to enlist with the New York Air National Guard 107th AW Niagara Falls, NY where he would go on to achieve the distinguished rank of Master Sergeant. He was a vehicle operator and mechanic with the 107th up until the time of his death. Kenny has served his country proudly with tours of duty around the world including Operation Southern Watch in Saudi Arabia and Operation Enduring Freedom in Baghdad, Iraq.
When Kenny was not spending time with his family or serving his country abroad, he was giving back to his community. He is an active life member of the Sanborn Fire Company, serving as a past assistant chief. He is also a life member of the Tri-Community Ambulance Service where he served as President for 10 years. Kenny poured his heart and soul into both of these organizations day in and out.
Kenny loved spending time with his family, snowmobiling in the Adirondacks, and helping out his second family at Hoover’s Dairy whenever he had the free time. He will be remembered for always being there to help others no matter the circumstance may be. Kenny was the guy that would give you the shirt off his back, no questions asked.
In addition to his father, he is survived by his wife of 23 years, Deah M. (Klemp) DeVole, his children Michael DeVole, Danielle DeVole, Diana (James) DeVole, and Amy Krieger, his grandchildren Logan, Breana and Kadin, a brother James (Sandra) DeVole, four sisters Catherine DeVole, Madeleine “Mindy” (Gerry) Wick, Deborah (Ernie) Pace and Diane (Randy) Haseley. He was the son in law of Donna and the late Richard J. Klemp, brother in law of the late Donald (Carol) Klemp, Debbie (Rick)
Burleson, Diane (Tom) Rutkowski, Dennis (Mary) Klemp, and Dana (John) Patti; he is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.
His family will be present at the RHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 5893 Hoover Road, SANBORN, NY, on Saturday and Sunday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday at 10:00 AM at Immaculate Conception Church, 4671 Townline Road, Ransomville, NY, with the Rev. James R. Bastian and Pastor David Hayes officiating. PLEASE ASSEMBLE AT CHURCH.
The Sanborn Fire Company will be conducting a Memorial Service Sunday at 7:00 PM.
