    Funeral services for Chester Broeker, a former janitor at the Niagara Wheatfield High School, will be held at 11 a.m. today in St. John Lutheran Church, Niagara Falls Boulevard and Ward Road. Burial will be in St. John Lutheran Cemetery. Broeker, 96, of North Gate Manor Nursing Home, died Wednesday (June 29, 1994) in DeGraff Memorial Hospital, North Tonawanda. He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, a charter member of the St. Johnsburg Fire Company and the Wheatfield Senior Citizens. He was the widower of the former Lillian Proefrock. Survivors include a daughter, Dallas LaBarber; a sister, Isabelle Schabell of North Tonawanda; two brothers, Erwin of Buffalo and Lloyd; and seven grandchildren.

    SNIFF - Alice Broeker Sniff, 71, of 367 Bryant St., North Tonawanda, Wednesday (Sept. 16,1970). She was a lifelong resident of North Tonawanda, a member of Payne Avenue Christian Church and was the wife of the late Harold Sniff. Survived by four brothers, Chester and Lloyd Broeker of North Tonawanda, Irving of Buffalo and Donald Broeker of Detroit, and two sisters, Mrs. Adolph Kwiatkowski and Mrs. Louis Schebell, both of North Tonawanda. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Wattengel Funeral Home Inc., 307 Oliver St., North Tonawanda, where services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday. The Rev. Lyle V. Newman will officiate. Burial in Resthaven Cemetery.

He was a lifelong resident of the Tonawnadas.  He leaves his wife, Agnes, nee Duerr; his mother, Mrs. Anna Broeker, Tonawanda; four brothers. Irving of Buffalo, Chester of North Tonawanda, Donald and Lloyd of North Tonawanda, and three sisters, Mrs. Harold Sniff, Mrs. Adolph Kwiatowski and Miss Isabelle Broeker of the Tonawandas.  Rites will be held Monday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the residence.     Two automobile accidents on the Niagara Falls boulevard yesterday afternoon and last evening resulted in the death of one child and the serious injury of another. .Norman Broecker, ten years old, son of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Broecker of the Niagara Falls boulevard near the Nash road, died shortly after 5 o'clock last night form injuries which he received two hours before, when he was run over by one of the big auto trucks of Jacob Moschels Sons, meat packers of No. 153 Peckham street. Buffalo. Broecker and a younger brother Donald, were riding on a bicycle
    which the older boy was operating when they were struck by the Moschels
    truck, bound from Niagara Fal!s to Buffalo. Norman Broecker was hurled under the wheels of the truck which passed over him. His right hip and leg were crushed. The other lad was thrown clear of the machine and escaped with slight injuries. Dr. J. E. Helwig was called. He found the seriously injured boy bleeding profusely. and ordered him rushed to the DeGraff Memorial hospital. While Dr. Helwig assisted by Dr. R. P. Reagan, was working over the boy he died. Death was due to the loss
    of blood and shock. Coroner F. A. Kittinger of Lockport took charge of the case.

    Dallas LaBarber, age 94, of the Town of Wheatfield, passed away on Sunday, February 10, 2019 at Elderwood Healthcare after a brief illness.  Born in Wheatfield, NY, she was the daughter of the late Chester and Lillian (Proefrock) Broeker.
    Dallas resided in the area all of her life and attended local schools. She married Joseph “Red” LaBarber on August 31, 1947 at St. Johns Church, Wheatfield, NY. Mr. LaBarber predeceased Dallas in 1994.
    Dallas was a devoted homemaker who enjoyed cooking and baking with her husband and was well known for her homemade cookies, pizza and sausage.
    Dallas is survived by her daughter, Gail (Ronald) Muffler; grandchildren, Michelle (Kris) Christensen and Kimberly (Robert) Castiglione; great-grandchildren, Michael, Brooke Christensen and Joseph, Nicholas Castiglione; two sisters-in-law, Marge (late Emedio) D’Angelo and Phyllis (late Walter) Peters and several nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents and husband, Dallas was predeceased by her son, Jeffrey LaBarber; brother, Rollin Broeker and several sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law.   
    There will be no prior visitation.  A Memorial Mass in her Honor will be celebrated on Friday, February 15th at 10:00 A.M. in Holy Family Parish at St. Joseph Church, 1413 Pine Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY.
