BUFFALO — Jerry Rutland, of Olcott, NY, husband of Ruth Bruning Rutland, entered into rest Friday, July 30, 2010, in Buffalo General Hospital. He was born in Wilson, NY, October 15, 1932, the son of the late Richard L. and Onalee Mahl Rutland. A Navy Veteran who served his country from 1952-1956 and served on the USS Rochester. Jerry worked for Lockport Memorial Hospital as Asst. Administrator for many years, then was a negotiator for Superintendent Association of New York State. He had lived most of his life in Olcott. Jerry was one of Olcott’s most ardent YANKEES’ fan. Life member of Olcott Fire Company. Charter member of Olcott Lions Club and received the Melvin Jones Fellow Award. Jerry was a member of the American Legion Post in Little Valley, NY where he enjoyed many years of deer hunting. He was an avid golfer, enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family.

Father of Deborah E. Rutland of St. Petersburg, FL, Denise M. (John) Barnett of Ocoee, FL, Cindy R. (Nelson Jex) Farina and William C. (Tammy) Rutland, both of Lockport, NY. Cherished Bompa of Lisa and Glen Butler, Jerad Riddle, John and Brian Barnett, Nicolette and Kyle Rutland and Matthew Farina. Brother of Cleo Semple of Boston, MA and the late Richard C. Rutland, Kenneth Rutland and William Rutland. Also survived by two great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the RUTLAND-CORWIN FUNERAL HOME, INC., 2670 Main St., Newfane, NY, MONDAY 7-9 PM and TUESDAY 2-4 & 7-9 PM, where funeral services will be held WEDNESDAY at 11:00 AM. Interment will be in Corwin Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Memorials to Olcott Lions Club or Olcott Fire Company would be appreciated by the family.

William G. Rutland, 22, of
Arnold Court, Olcott, son of
Krull Park Superintendent
Richard Rutland, was pronounced
dead at the scene.
He suffered multiple fractures.

Mr. Rutland, an employe of
Merritt, Chapman, Scott Company
at the power project was
northbound. His 1956 modl
auto left the highway, sheared
off two utility poles and ran
over bushes and shrubs at
the Mains Home.
Funeral services for the
Rutland youth will be held
at 2 p.m. Sunday, which would
have been his 23rd birthday.
The Rev. George Manning of
Olcott Methodist Church will
officiate. Burial will be in Corwin
Cemetery. Friends may
call at the Corwin Funeral
Home, Newfane, Friday and
Saturday from 3 to 5 and 7
to 9 p.m.
He was born Dec. 27, 1936,
the son of Richard L. and Ohalee
Mahl Rutland, who survive
him. He was a graduate of
Wilson Central High School in
1955 and had been .employed
as an operating engineer on
the Niagara Power Project.
Surviving, in addition to the
parents, in Olcott, are a sister,
Mrs. David Chase, of Lockport;
three brothers, Kenneth, Richard
Jr. and Jerry Rutland, all
of Olcott, and his paternal
grandparents, Mr. and Mrs.
Robert J. Rutland, of Wilson.

Glen T. Butler of Lockport entered into rest on Tuesday, March 3, 2020 following a traffic accident. Glen was born on July 24, 1982 in Lockport, NY. He was a practicing Barber and Tattoo professional. Glen enjoyed people, especially those he worked with and those he met through his work. Glen also had a love of fishing, music, fitness, and a genuine love of life and adventure.
Son of  Thomas Butler of Amherst, NY., and Deborah Rutland of Pinellas Park, FL., Father of Josiah Butler of Buffalo. Brother of Lisa Butler of Buffalo, NY. Glen is also survived by several Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins.
Calling hours will be Wednesday from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM from the Rutland-Corwin Funeral Home, Inc. 2670 Main Street, Newfane, NY. A Memorial Service will follow the calling hours at the funeral home.
Donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital would be welcome.
