Wheatfield Woman Dies at 88 Years
Wheatfield, Jan. 5 - Mrs. Augustus Schoenfeldt, 88, widow of the late Gottlieb Schoenfeldt, of this town, died today at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Augusta Shartz(sic), Witmer road. Mrs. Schoenfeldt had been a resident of Wheatfield for more than 60 years. Her death followed a two weeks illness. The funeral will be held Sunday at the home of her son, Charles Schoenfeldt, Niagara Falls boulevard, North Tonawanda, at 2 o'clock, and at St. Martin's church, Martinville(sic), a half hour later. The Rev. Theo Berner, rector of that church, will perform the services. Mrs. Schoenfeldt is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Augusta Shartz(sic); three sons, Charles and William Schoenfeldt of North Tonawanda, and Herman Schoenfeldt of Nashville, N. Y.; one brother, William Hidde; 18 grandchildren, and 25 great grandchildren.

Foreman at Lumber Plant Dies
William C. Schoenfedt, 91, formerly of 132 Hagan Ave., died Saturday evening (July 29, 1961) at Kenmore Mercy Hospital after a lengthy illness. He was a foreman in various lumber mills in this city for the greater part of his life. Later, he was employed as a custodian in the city schools system prior to retiring in 1946. Mr. Schoenfeldt was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Electric City Lodge No. 663, IOOF, and of the Golden-Age Club. He was a native of Germany, but had lived in this city 90 years. His wife, the former Mary Westphal, died in June 1951. Surviving are a son, Alfred F. Schoenfeldt, this city; a daughter, Mrs. Thomas Heinback, Tonawanda; eight grand-children and 15 great-grand-children. The funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m., Tuesday at the Hamp Funeral Home by Rev. Burton L. Baseler. Burial will be in White Chapel Memorial Park. Odd Fellows will conduct a service at 8 o'clock tonight at the funeral home.

SCHOENFELDT – Benjamin A. Schoenfeldt, 72, of 105 Hagen Ave., North Tonawanda, died unexpectedly Saturday (March 6, 1965). He was pronounced dead on arrival at DeGraff Memorial Hospital. A lifelong resident of North Tonawanda, Mr. Schoenfeldt was a member of Friedens United Church of Christ, Sweeney Hose Company, of which he was a past president and the North Tonawanda Firemen’s Benevolent Association, of which he had been president the past 18 years. He was employed at Roe Tool and Die Co., Tonawanda. Surviving are his wife, Anna (nee Rathgeber); two sons, Robert and LeVant Schoenfeldt; four daughters, Mrs. Joseph (Dorothy) Wiegand, Miss Bernice Schoenfeldt, Mrs. Erwin (Mildred) Krull and Mrs. Lois Erhart, all of the Tonawandas; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. James Jamieson of Tidioute, Pa. SCHOENFELDT – Levant C. Schoenfeldt, 54, of 124 Rumbold Ave., North Tonawanda, died today, Monday Oct. 26, 1953 in the DeGraff Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. He was born in North Tonawanda and was a lifelong resident of the city. Mr. Schoenfeldt had been stationed at the Active Hose Company headquarters in North Tonawanda as a driver for 25 years before retiring in 1949. For the past six years he had been employed as a machinist by the Alan Herschell Co. He was a member of the Sweeney Hose Company 7 and the Firemen’s Benevolent Association of North Tonawanda. Mr. Schoenfeldt is survived by his wife, Myrtle, nee Lozo; a son, Albert C.; a daughter, Mrs. Dale Schroeder; three grandchildren; and a brother, Benjamin, all of North Tonawanda. H. E. Schoenfeldt, Elder of Church, Dies in Hospital
Funeral services for Herbert E. Schoenfeldt, 57, of 102 Rumbold Ave., Niagara Mohawk Power Corp. dealer representative, are scheduled at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Brunner Funeral Home. A lifelong resident of the Twin Cities, Mr. Schoenfeldt died yesterday of a heart ailment at DeGraff Memorial Hospital. The Rev. M. L. Baseler will officiate at the services and burial in White Chapel Cemetery. Mr. Schoenfeldt was an elder and treasurer of St. Peter's American Lutheran Church. Just last Wednesday, the Niagara Mohawk organization promoted Mr. Schoenfeldt to the post of dealer representative serving the Twin Cities and Niagara Falls area. He had been employed by the corporation since Aug. 26, 1930 serving first as a district representative. In December 1940, he entered the Twin Cities office of Niagara Mohawk as a salesman, becoming customer service representative in March 1945. Active in the Lions Club of the Tonawandas, Mr. Schoenfeldt formerly served the club as a director and as secretary-treasurer. He was also member of the Electrical Workers Local 1352-AFL. Mr. Schoenfeldt is survived by his wife, Mrs. Ruth Knoell Schoenfeldt; his son, James, his father William; a brother, Alfred Schoenfeldt, and a sister, Mrs. Viola Heimbeck. all of the Twin Cities. Two grandchildren also survive.

Dorothy J. Wiegand, 94, of North Tonawanda, Niagara County, NY, passed away peacefully December 16, 2008 in Northgate Health Care Facility, after a brief illness. She was born in North Tonawanda, Niagara County, NY on June 24, 1914 to the late Benjamin and Anna (Rathgeber) Schoenfeldt. On June 27, 1936, the former Dorothy J. Schoenfeldt married Joseph H. Wiegand. He died March 10, 1980.For many years Dorothy worked as a sales associate at Jenss Department Store. Mrs. Wiegand was a Charter Member and past President of the Adams Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary, a member of the Niagara County Ladies Auxiliary, the Western New York Ladies Auxiliary and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Firemen’s Association of the State of New York. She was also a member of the Wheatfield Garden Club, Wheatfield Republican Club and a Past Noble Grand of Rebekah Lodge #263.Dorothy was a lifelong traveler, taking numerous trips to Germany and Austria as well as Norway and Holland. Her other pastimes included fishing, crocheting, working word puzzles and playing cards, but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.She is survived by a son, Robert J. (Mary) Wiegand; a granddaughter, Allison Wiegand; one sister, Mildred Krull, all of North Tonawanda and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Wiegand was predeceased by her husband; her parents; a daughter, the late Barbara Ann Wiegand; two brothers, the late Robert Schoenfeldt, late Levant Schoenfeldt; and two sisters, the late Lois Erhart and the late Bernice Schoenfeldt. NORTH TONAWANDA — Albert C. "Shaney" Schoenfeldt, age 87, of North Tonawanda, on Thursday, January 5, 2012, after brief illness at Buffalo General Hospital. Shaney was the oldest living retired firefighter in North Tonawanda. He served 34 years with the North Tonawanda Fire Department. He was a 66-year member of the Sweeney Hose and a 59-year member of the Live Hose. Always active in his community, he was a member of Sikora Post and a former Director of the Third Warder's Club. Shaney was an avid golfer and bowler. Shaney was a WWII U.S. Marine Corps Veteran. Son of the late LeVant and Myrtle (nee Lozo) Schoenfeldt.

Beloved husband of Ruth (nee Williams/Bolduc) of North Tonawanda. Step-father of Alan Bolduc of Florida, Carl (Patricia) Bolduc of South Carolina and the late Mark Bolduc. Father of Carol (the late Ronald) Szymanski, Jane (Ron) Roy, Kyle Schoenfeldt, Keith Schoenfeldt and the late Charlene Phillips.

James H. Schoenfeldt, age 91, of North Tonawanda at the New York State Veterans Home at Batavia, on January 22, 2015 after a long illness. Jim was a member of North Presbyterian Church where he was a former Elder and Trustee. He worked at Van Raalte as a Chemist and later retired from the Hooker Chemical/Occidental Petroleum Corp. where he was a Project Engineer for many years. Jim was a World War II U.S. Army and Army Air Corps Veteran. He served in the European Theater and Patton’s 3rd Army. He was wounded and received the Purple Heart. After the war, he attended Canisius College graduating in 1950 with a B.S. in Chemistry. Son of the late Herbert E. and Ruth Schoenfeldt. Husband of the late Dorothy (nee Nicholson) Schoenfeldt and father of the late David J. Schoenfeldt.

Beloved father of Beth (William) Exton of Perry, NY, Paul (Althea) Schoenfeldt of Richardson, TX and father-in-law of Laurie Schoenfeldt. Proud grandfather of six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Friends received by the family on Monday February 2, 2015 4-7 P.M. at the Brunner Funeral Home, (692-3841), 156 Robinson St., North Tonawanda. Jim treasured his family and was an attentive son, devoted husband, loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He deeply valued his faithful friends. He was a gentle, tender man and readily offered a smile to all. He appreciated nature and had a lifelong love for fishing and his special Canadian Lakes. Brent Timothy Heimback, Sr., age 81, of Port St. Lucie, Florida, passed away peacefully, Friday, May 22, 2015 at his residence. Brent was born in North Tonawanda, New York. He had been a resident of Port St. Lucie for the past 29 years after moving from Hamburg, New York with his family.

He was the loving son of the late Thomas and Viola Heimback of Tonawanda and the brother of the late Ronald (Shirley) Heimback, the late Bruce Heimback and the late Janice (Warren) Heldwein. He was also predeceased in death by his loving wife, Eleanor Heimback, and his son, Mark Heimback.

He is survived by his daughter, Mary Lynn Heimback Bridges of Columbus, Ohio; three sons, Brent Heimback, Jr. of Boise, Idaho, Douglas (Leslie) Heimback of Clarksville, Tennessee, and Jeffery (Janet) Heimback of Fayetteville, Georgia; and two brothers, Dr. Dennis (Rosemary) Heimback and John (Donna) Heimback, both of Amherst, New York. Also surviving are nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

A Memorial Funeral Mass will be held at 10 AM, Monday, June 15, 2015 at Holy Family Catholic Church, 2330 SE Mariposa Avenue, Port St. Lucie, Florida. Interment will follow at Forest Hills Memorial Park, 2001 SW Murphy Road, Palm City, Florida.
