    Floyd E. "Ted" Payne, 83, of Medina, NY, passed away on Thursday, January 1, 2015 at the Medina Memorial Hospital.Born on September 6, 1931 in Jeddo, NY, he was the son of the late Floyd W. and Elva (Sanderson) Payne.
    Floyd graduated from Medina High School in 1949 and enlisted in the U.S. Army, during the Korean War. On returning home, he married his first wife, the former Nancy Myers in 1954 and in 1970 he married the former, late Nancy Kennedy and together they raised five children. Floyd worked for 40 years as inspector at Harrison Radiator. Floyd was a 46 year dedicated member of the North-South Skirmish Assoc. (NSSA) 8th New York Heavy Artillery Unit. He was a member of the Sacred Heart and Medina V.F.W., where he played on their Euchre League for 50 years and was over a 50 year member of the Medina Masonic Lodge and was a member of the Medina Bowling League and enjoyed doing crossword puzzles.

    He is survived by five children, Pamela (Gregory) Canham, John (Darcie) Gaygen, Leslee (Susan) Payne, Stephanie (Ralph) Dollinger, Melissa (Raymond Neuman) Newman, all of Medina, numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren "whom he all called George"; siblings, Barbara Padoleski and Gary (Debi) Payne, all of Medina, a sister-in-law, Mary Payne of Ruskin, FL and numerous nieces, nephews and life-long friend, Joycelyn Jennings. He is predeceased by a brother, Douglas Payne.

    Relatives and friends may call on Tuesday, January 6, 2015 from 2-4 and 7-9 at the Bates & Tuttle Funeral Home, 226 Pearl St. Medina, where a funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 AM with the Rev. Tony Hipes officiating. Burial will be at the convenience of the family with full Military Honors.

    Joan P. Thompson, 82, of Lockport, NY, passed away on June 5, 2022 in Tampa, FL. Born on December 26, 1939, Joan was the daughter to the late Chester "Chet" and Laura (Schrader) Payne). Joan married John "J.O." on July 31, 1959 in Lockport, NY. Joan worked as a secretary for Lockport Savings Bank for almost 20 years. Joan enjoyed cooking and canning fresh fruits and vegetables grown by J.O. She loved traveling to see her kids and their families in S.C. and F.L.
    Joan is survived by her two children Tricia (Thompson) Lukanic, and Christopher J. (Katharina) Thompson, granddaughter Hannah Lukanic; sisters Loretta (Doug) McCanty, Patricia (John) Chambers, brothers Chester "Chub" (Nancy) Payne, Bruce (Sue) Payne, Terry (Kathy) Payne, Jim Payne; brother and sister-in-laws William (Dorothy) Thompson and James (Paula) Thompson, several nieces and nephews and a host of lifelong friends. Joan was predeceased by brother and sister-in-laws, Gene (Evelyn) Payne, Roger (Karen "Tootie") Payne, Dawn Payne, David Thompson and Patricia Thompson.
    A graveside memorial service will be at 10:00am June 18 at Hartland Central Cemetery followed by a reception 11:30am – 3:00pm at the Elks Club, 6791 N. Canal Rd. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Emmanuel United Methodist Church, Speak for Animals @ speakforanimals.com, or American Cancer Society.

    Roger Chester Payne, age 80, of the town of Somerset, entered into rest on Sunday, September 11, 2016 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Born April 30, 1936 in Lockport, Roger is the son of the late: Chester and Laura Ruth (Schrader) Payne.
    Roger was owner operator of R.C. Payne Trucking of Appleton and he had worked at Oak Orchard Concrete in Medina.
    Roger married Karen "Tootie" Brigham November 11, 1961 at the Gasport Congregational Church. Karen died June 1, 1998. Roger was in the United States Air Force serving from October 1, 1961 until August 24, 1962.
    He enjoyed spending time with his family, children and grandchildren. Roger had a passion for hunting, vintage cars and trucks and loved taking care of his garden.
    Loving father of: Timothy John (Bonnie) Payne, Elizabeth Ann (Kenneth) Copella, Dale Thomas (Ginny) Payne, Andrea Lynne (Joseph) LaForest and Brenda Sue (David) Hartman. Brother of Joan (J.O.) Thompson, Loretta (Doug) McCanty, Patty (John) Chambers, Bruce (Sue) Payne, Terry (Kathy) Payne, Chub (Nancy) Payne, Jim (Nicole) Payne and the late Gene (Evelyn) Payne. Also survived by 16 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
    Family and friends are invited to attend visitation at the Sherrie-Bream Funeral Home, 4521 Main Street, Gasport on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Funeral Services will be held from the funeral home on Wednesday at 11:00 am. Interment will be in Royalton Mountain Ridge Cemetery, Gasport.
