    Carol Wethy Melcher of Lockport, NY, a descendant of a pioneer Town of Cambria family, has entered into peace on Friday, October 28, 2022. She spent most of her life in Pekin. After graduating from Wilson High School and working at the former Ransomville Hospital, Carol retired from Niagara Falls Medical Center in 1989. She enjoyed singing and piano playing.Carol is predeceased by husband, Gari R. Melcher and siblings Richard Hull and Irene Moody. She is survived by her children, Jack Carew, Robin Carew and Amy Cranston and grandchildren, Paul, Matthew and Meghan Fultz, Dustin Carew, Beverly, and Chip Cranston and Steven Plant and 10 great-grandchildren.Interment will be in North Ridge Cemetery at the convenience of the family.     Of  the Town of Wheatfield, passed away on Wednesday, January 10, 2024, in Niagara Hospice House, Lockport, NY.  She was born in Niagara Falls, NY, on May 7, 1942, a daughter of the late Raymond and Faye [Kline] Sessman.
    Mrs. Diebold was in the first graduating class of Niagara Wheatfield.
    She was employed with the Niagara County Health Department for over 25 years before retiring in 1995.
    Mrs. Diebold was a very active member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, serving on the Women's Guild, the Church Women's United and a member of the Niagara Falls Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
    She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren and enjoyed traveling, sewing and knitting.
    Mrs. Diebold was the wife of the late Lynn A. Diebold, who passed away in October of 2001.
    She is survived by her children Barry [ Pam] Diebold, Karyl [ Wayne] Lauzon and Kristen [Tom] Wunderlich, her brothers Raymond and Ronald (Lynette) Sessman, eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, two nieces and one nephew.
    Her family will be present on Sunday from 3-7 PM at the RHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 5893 Hoover Road, SANBORN, NY, where funeral services will be held on Monday at 10:00 AM, with the Rev. Ronald Lord officiating.
    Memorials may be made in her name to Niagara Hospice.
    Interment in Acacia Park Cemetery.
