Rites were held at 3:30
this afternoon from the residence
Mrs. Auguste B, Ziehm, 50 years
who died at her home, 49 Friedericka
Street Saturday afternoon. The ser-
vices were conducted by Rev. Theo-
phil Twenty of the St. Peter's Ev-
angelical church of which the deceased
was a member. Mrs. Ziehm was born
in Germany and resided in the Ton-
awandas for the past 40 years. she is
survived by a husband, August,
daughter, Mrs. James Henwood, Niaga-
ra Falls; two sons, Rudolph and
Arthur, North Tonawanda;
grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs. Gus-
tav Kriedeman and Mrs. Adolph
??beck, North Tonawanda, and three
brothers, Rudolph Poerschke, Niagara
Falls, NY and August and William
Poerschke, North Tonawanda.

Rudy Ziehm To Retire As Deputy

Rudolph Ziehm, 68, of 25 Allen St., North Tonawanda, chief criminal deputy of the Niagara County Sheriff's Department, will retire Jan. 15 after 20 years service.

Deputy Ziehm has been chief criminal deputy since 1952. He was appointed to the Sheriff's Department in 1948 by Sheriff Henry Becker.

Deputy Ziehm served on the Niagara County Republican executive board for 18 years and was a GOP committeeman for 35 years.

He and his wife, the former Anne Swanson, have three children, 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

24 (AP) - Two deer hunters were
killed early today when the car
in which they were riding crashed
against a tree. Two companions
were injured.
Dead were Carl C. Ziehm, 21,
and Edward Nagy, 18, both of
North Tonawanda.

street, killed instantly .yesterday
morning when an automobile-Irr
Whlch they were riding left the dead
end of the Transit road at its Intersection
with the East t Aurora-Orchard
Park highway and crashed
into a tree.
The Ziehm rites will be held at
the residence at 2:30 o'clock in the
afternoon and will be. conducted by
the Rev. Theophll Twente. Interment
will be in Friedens cemetery.
Rites will be conducted for Nagy
at 8:30 o'clock In the morning from
the residence and half an hour later
at the Ascension church. The Rev.
Daniel Molloy will conduct the service
and Interment will be In Mt.
Olivet.
Ziehm was" a graduate of the
North Tonawanda high school and
was empoyed by the Curtis company
at its Buffalo plant. Nagy was
an employe of the Carborundum
company at Niagara Falls and was
to have reported there at 11 o'clock
last night for work.
Besides flls parents, Ziehm is survived
by a sister, Betty Lu, and two
brothers, Rudolph, Jr., and Robert,
all of North Tonawanda.
Surviving Nagy are his parents; a
brother, Stephen, and six sisters,
Mrs. Carl Haist, of Buffalo, Mrs.
James Astalos, Leona, Irma. Doris
and Frances. With the exception of
Mrs. Haist, all reside ln North
Tonawanda.

OBITUARY

William A. Henwood of Niagara Falls, NY,   passed away on  Thursday, January 14, 2021, in Northgate Health Care Facility, North Tonawanda, NY.   He was born in Niagara Falls, NY on October 19, 1935, the son of the late James and Olga [Ziehm] Henwood.
Mr. Henwood graduated from LaSalle Senior High School and served with the Air National Guard.
He was employed with the Niagara Junction Railroad, The New York State Power Authority and later became the Rehabilitation Specialist with the City of Niagara Falls for over 30 years before retiring in 2015.   Mr. Henwood also owned and operated the Henwood Motel in Niagara Falls, NY, for many years.
He was an avid sportsman and a member of the LaSalle Sportsman's Club, the 3 F Club and enjoyed wintering in Florida.
Mr. Henwood is survived by his wife of  65 years M. Jacqueline [Marshall] Henwood, his children Daniel (Brenda) Henwood and Debra Taylor, four grandchildren Farron and  Matthew (Jamie) Henwood, Laura Cruz and Rebecca Franks, a brother James (Sharon) Henwood, fourteen great grandchildren,  also many nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Joan Butzbok. 
Due to the COVID Pandemic,  private funeral services will be held at the wishes of his family.
Interment in Acacia Park Cemetery, Town of Pendleton, NY.

SEMINOLE, FL — Joan Alice Henwood- Butzbach, 80, of Seminole, FL, died on June 29, 2012.

She was predeceased by her parents, James and Olga Henwood, formerly of Niagara Falls, NY. She is survived by her children, Barbara G. Morse, Susan (Jason) Jamieson, Shelley (Dale) Elliott and Keith (Cheryl) Mesler; nine grandchildren and two brothers, William (Jackie) Henwood and James (Sharon) Henwood.

Memorial services will be held Aug. 8, 2012, at 11 AM at Our Savior Lutheran Church, St. Petersburg, FL. Visitation one hour prior. Interment following at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.

He was past president of the Buffalo and Western NY Poultry Association and Rhode Island Red Club. William was a 4 -H Poultry Leader, a member of the Lockport Masonic Lodge and an avid Yankee fan. Father of Christopher (Janet Klumpp) Ziehm, Rachael (Ronald) Mock, Steven (Stephanie Carland) Fowler and Devon (Jessica Schug) Fowler. Grandfather of Skye, Georgia, Alyssa, Colton and Amber. Brother of Jay (Brenda) Ziehm, Floyd (Nora) Campbell, Joel Campbell, Tina (Kevin) Powley, Cheryl Bucolo, Laurie Phillips and the late Sandra Malley. No prior visitation.
