    Maureen J. Walsh,  formerly of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away Friday, January 18, 2019, in Upstate Medical Center, Syracuse, NY.     She was born in Niagara Falls, NY, on July 28, 1949, the daughter of the late Robert W. and Jean I. [Murphy] Swartz.
    Maureen graduated from Madonna High School in 1967 and from St. Mary's Hospital School of Nursing.  She was a Registered Nurse with St. Mary's Hospital for over 33 years.
    Maureen had lived in Middleport for 5 years before moving to Syracuse 8 years ago.
    She enjoyed spending time with her family and would never be seen without her knitting needles and yarn.
    Maureen was the wife of Charles Walsh and the late Allan Seward who passed away in 1998.
    She is survived by a daughter Jennifer (Scott) Temple, a son R. John (Misti) Huttlemayer, three grand daughters Emily, Sara and Brittany, six brothers Lee (Florence), Rev. Michael, Paul (Carol), Dennis (late Anne), Donald (Patricia) and Lawrence (Jonna) Swartz, two sisters Karen (Richard) Smith and Mary Anne Swartz, her aunt Sr. Bernadette Geiser, two sister in laws Joanne and Linda Swartz. Also many nieces, nephews and cousins.
    Maureen was the sister of the late Timothy and Philip Swartz and aunt of the late Joshua Swartz.
    Her family will be present on Tuesday from 3-7 PM at the RHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 1124 Ontario Avenue, NIAGARA FALLS, NY, where funeral services will be held on Wednesday at  8:45 AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at  9:30 AM at St. Peter's Church, 620 Center Street, Lewiston, NY, with  Msgr. David G. LiPuma officiating.
    Flowers are gratefully declined. Memorials may be made in her name to St. Jude Children's Hospital.

    OBITUARY

    Michael R. Swartz  of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on Tuesday, January 12, 2021, in the  Buffalo General Medical Center.   He was born in Niagara Falls, NY,  on November 9, 1951, a son of the late  Robert and Jean [Murphy]  Swartz.
    Michael graduated from Bishop Duffy in 1969 and Christ the King Seminary.   He was ordained  in 1987 and served with various churches in the area.    He later became a Licensed Practical Nurse at Niagara Rehabilitation, where he was a fixture on the mid night shift for the past 10 years.
    Michael loved spending time with his family and his nieces and nephews were his pride and joy.
    He is survived by four brothers Lee (Florence),  Paul (Carol), Donald (Patricia) and Lawrence (Jonna) Swartz, two sisters Karen (late Richard) Smith and Mary Anne Swartz,  his aunt Sr. Bernadette Geiser, two sister in laws Joanne and Linda Swartz, also many nieces, nephews and cousins.
    Michael was the brother of the late Dennis (late Anne), Timothy and Philip Swartz and Maureen Walsh and was the uncle of the late Joshua and Joseph Swartz.
    His family will be present on Friday from 2-5 at the RHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 5893 Hoover Road, SANBORN, NY.
    Friends are invited to attend his Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday at 10:00 AM at St. Vincent de Paul Church,  Prince of Peace site 1055 N. Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY.
    Flowers are gratefully declined.
    Interment in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lewiston, NY.

    Paul J. Swartz, 69, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on February 12, 2024 at his residence under the care of Niagara Hospice. Born in Niagara Falls, NY, he was the son of the late Robert W. and Jean I. (Murphy) Swartz.
    Paul was a 1973 graduate of Bishop Duffy High School.  He was employed for over 30 years as a Machine Operator for Carborundum Corporation (later Unifrax) until 2011.  He then was employed at Niagara County Community College in Maintenance for 6 years, and most recently worked seasonally for Delaware North on Goat Island in Niagara Falls for 12 years.  On September 26, 2015, he married Carol J. (DeMita) Swartz in Grand Island, NY.  
    Paul was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Parish.  He was an avid fan of the Cleveland Indians, the Buffalo Bills, and the Buffalo Sabres.  He enjoyed shopping, especially grocery shopping and occasionally frequenting the casino with his wife.  Paul loved the holidays and loved to decorate, winning multiple annual awards from the Niagara Beautification Commission for best decorated home.  Above all, he loved being together with his family at picnics and get togethers, and cherished the time he spent with his grandchildren.
    In addition to his wife of 8 years, Paul is survived by his step-children, Mandy May (Eric Hibschweiler), Adam (Nicole) Stankovich, and Ashley Biro (Michael Dale); 13 grandchildren and 1 great-granddaughter; his siblings, Lee (Florence) Swartz, Karen (late Richard) Smith, Donald (Patricia) Swartz, Lawrence (Joyce) Swartz, and Mary Anne Swartz; his aunt, Sr. Bernadette Geiser, Sisters of Mercy, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.  He is also survived by his in-laws, Richard (late Sharon) DeMita and Debra (Craig) Simpson.  Paul was predeceased by his step-daughter, Amber Stankovich; his granddaughter, Lillian May; his siblings, Maureen (late Alan) Seward, Michael R. Swartz, Timothy (Joanne) Swartz, Dennis (late Annmarie) Swartz, and Philip (Linda) Swartz, as well as by 2 nephews.
    Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 15 from 11 AM – 1:30 PM at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY 14304, where funeral services will begin at 1:30 PM.  Entombment in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lewiston, NY.  In lieu of flowers, memorial offerings may be made to Niagara Hospice.  Visit mjcoluccifuneralchapel.com for online condolences.

    Dennis W. Swartz, 63, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on Monday, November 2, 2020, at Mt. St. Mary’s Hospital in Lewiston, NY. Born in Niagara Falls, he was the son of the late Robert and Jean (Murphy) Swartz.
    Dennis was a lifelong resident of Niagara Falls and a 1974 graduate of Bishop Duffy High School. On April 23, 1977, he married Anne Marie (Spadorcia) Swartz at the former Sacred Heart Church. Anne Marie passed away on June 20, 2013, after 36 memorable years together.
    Dennis was employed for many years as an assembler for Nuttall Gear. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
    Dennis is survived by his children, Anthony V. (Katie) Swartz, Denise M. (Robert) Beer, Michael P. (fiancé Judy Nguon) Swartz and Joseph J. Swartz; his loving grandchildren, Tyler, Madison and Dylan Swartz; his siblings, Michael, Donald, Karen, Mary Ann, Larry and Paul; his mother-in-law, Sue (late Vincent) Spadorcia, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his siblings, Maureen, Timothy and Phillip.

    Joseph J. ‘Joey’ Swartz, 31, of Niagara Falls, NY passed away on November 10, 2020 at Erie County Medical Center.  Born in Lewiston, NY, he was the son of late Dennis W. and late Anne Marie (Spadorcia) Swartz.
    Joey graduated from Niagara Falls High School, and graduated from Canisius College with a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science.  He worked several jobs, but most recently he was the Director of Center City Neighborhood Development Corporation in Niagara Falls, a job that he was extremely proud of and devoted to.  Joey was active in both local and national politics, volunteering with Hillary Clinton’s 2016 Presidential Campaign.  He enjoyed playing bocce and going to the casino.
    Joey is survived by his siblings, Anthony V. (Katie) Swartz, Denise M. (Robert) Beer, and Michael P. (fiancée Judy Nguon) Swartz; his nieces and nephews, DeAndre, Leila, Tyler, Madison and Dylan, his maternal grandmother Sue (late Vincent) Spadorcia, as well as several aunts, uncles and cousins.
    Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 15th from 3 – 6 PM at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY 14304.  Private interment in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lewiston, NY, at the convenience of the family.  Visit mjcoluccifuneralchapel.com for online condolences.
