    Tremont street, died last evening
    in his home after a long illness.
    Mr. Reitch was born in Germany
    and lived in the Tonawandas for
    the last 35 years.
    He is survived by his wife,
    Christine Reitch; two daughters,
    Mrs. Edward Eagan and Mrs. Gerald
    Lane; three sons, Chester, Louis
    and Melvin Reitch; a brother,
    Herman Reitch, all of the Tonawandas;

    Funeral services will be held at
    2 o'clock tomorrow afternoon at
    the Wattengel funeral home, 307
    Oliver street. Burial will be in

Mr. Reitsch was a lifelong resident of North Tonawanda, veteran of World War II, a member of Tonawandas Post 264, American Legion and the Disabled American Veterans. A former employee Civil Service Corps of Engineers. He is survived by his wife, Catherine (nee Pastor) Reitsch; a son, Carl R. Reitsch, at home; two sisters, Mrs. Edward (Vivian) Eagan and Mrs. Gerald (Ardith) Lane, both of Tonawanda; two brothers, Lewis (Helen) Rietsch of Tonawanda and Melvin (Donna) Reitsch of North Tonawanda, many nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the Fretthold Funeral Home, Inc., 1241 Oliver St., at Ward Rd., North Tonawanda SATURDAY and SUNDAY 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be held at the funeral home Monday at 10.30 a.m., the Rev. Walter L. C. Wenhold will officiate. Interment Mount Olivet Cemetery.

Born on December 19, 1919 in Lewiston, NY to the late August and Christine (nee McNeal). Lewis was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. Husband of the late Helen (nee Paul), who passed away in 2006. Father of Ann Rietsch-Richter and Amy (Charles) Foster; grandfather of Lisa Marie (Larry) Reid-Spears, Heather Reid, Cody Bridges, Carly Foster and Larry Spears, Jr.; brother of Melvin (Donna) Rietsch; and sister-in-law of Irene (Paul) Primeaux. vA Memorial Service will be held at a later date.     WHEATFIELD - Melvin J. Reitsch, 86, of Wheatfield, Sunday (June 12, 2011) at home, after a lengthy Illness. Mr. Reitsch was born in North Tonawanda on February 24, 1925 to August and Christine (McNeil) Reitsch. Melvin was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and the Merchant Marines. He retired from Remington Rand and later Western Block. He was a member of the UAW, Sutherland Lodge, Stephen Sikora Post #1322. Melvin is survived by his wife of 59 years, Donna Rae (Rees) Reitsch; father of Darla Rae (Anthony) Minonno; brother of the late Vivian Eagan, Chet and Louie Reitsch and Ardith Lane; grandfather of Anthony (Marisa) and Gregory (Heather) Minonno; great-grandfather of Alexander, Chloe, Alisa, Laura and Christopher; also surviving are several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at a later date from Acacia Park Cemetery, Pendleton, NY. Arrangements by Wattengel Funeral Home.

    SPENCERPORT — Ardith R. (Reitsch) Lane, December 16, 2010. Predeceased by husband, Gerald B. Lane; sister, Vivian (Edward) Eagan; brother, Chester (Catherine) Reitsch; special niece, Sharyel Fickhesen.

    Survived by daughter, Nancy (Craig) MacBay; grandchildren, Jeffrey (Nicole), Kevin (Jennifer); great-grandson, Owen MacBay; and brother, Melvin (Donna) Reitsch.
