Funeral services will be
held at 8:15 a.m. Tuesday
at the Magaddino Memorial
Chapel Inc. and at 9 a.m. at
St. Joseph's Church. Burial
will be In St. Joseph's Cemetery.

NIAGARA FALLS — Florence K. Donato of Niagara Falls, NY, died on Saturday, October 30, 2010 at Roswell Park Cancer Institute in Buffalo, NY. Born in Syracuse, NY, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Maria (DeFazio) Donato.

Florence moved to the Niagara Falls area as a child with her family and attended local schools. During World War II she was employed at Bell Aircraft in Wheatfield, NY. She later worked at the former Nabisco Shredded Wheat Co. and Kimberly Clark Corp. until the plants closing. Florence went on to become a civilian office clerk at the U.S. Air Force Recruiting office on Pine Avenue in Niagara Falls until her retirement. While there, she was awarded an honorary recruiter certificate for being directly responsible for operating the office as well as the enlistment of numerous men and women to the Air Force. In 1970, Florence was also recognized for her heroism when she alerted the tenants of fatal fire that claimed two lives and nearly destroyed the landmark Sagamore Apartments in Niagara Falls. Her quick response to discovering smoke in the hallway and waking the tenants was credited for preventing a much more disastrous result. Florence was formerly involved in local politics for the Democratic Party and their campaigns. In her leisure time she also enjoyed Bingo and going to the Casino.

Florence is survived by one sister, Josephine (late Thomas) Tedesco of Niagara Falls, NY and was the beloved aunt to Penny (Mark) Adams, Ronald Appoloney, Thomas (Kathy) Tedesco, Frank (Jane) Donato, Rickie (Debbie) Donato, Richard (Joanne) Donato, William (Loraine) Corsaro, Jean Battilini and Sandra Barbaro. She is also survived by many great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces, great-great-nephews, great-great-great-nieces, great-great-great-nephews and cousins. Florence was also predeceased by three sisters and two brothers, Mary (late Angelo) Trapasso, Angeline (late John) Corsaro, Anthony (late Lillian) Donato, Lena (late Frank) Appoloney and Frank (late Mary Lou) Donato.

Visitation will be on Thursday November 4th from 9 - 11:15 AM at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY, where funeral services will begin at 11:15 AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12 Noon in Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph Parish at St. Joseph Church, 1413 Pine Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY. Entombment in St. Joseph Cemetery, Niagara Falls, NY.

ALTA LOMA, CA — Mary M. Trapasso, 93, formerly of Lewiston, NY, passed away on December 29, 2012. Mrs. Trapasso was born on March 9, 1919. She resided in both Niagara Falls, NY, Lewiston, NY and, most recently, Alta Loma, CA. She married Angelo T. Trapasso of Lewiston, NY, on October 19, 1935 in Sacred Heart Church in Niagara Falls.

Mrs. Trapasso co-owned and operated Trapasso's Tailoring and Cleaning on Ontario Avenue, Niagara Falls, and later co-owned and operated Trapasso's Tuxedo Park until the late 1970s. She was a member and founder of our Lady of Fatima of Shrine and former member of the Century Club and St. Joseph's Church. In her spare time, Mrs. Trapasso enjoyed dancing and shopping.

She is survived by sons, Richard Trapasso of Alta Loma, CA and James Trapasso of Redlands, CA; grandchildren, Monique (Trapasso) Laufau, Nicole Trapasso, Lara Trapasso and Chantale (Trapasso) Noreen, all of whom reside in Orange County, CA, Peter Trapasso of San Francisco, CA, Jamie Trapasso of Sarasota, FL, Adrienne (Trapasso) Waugh of Amherst, NY. In addition, she is survived by five great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

The memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, January 25, 2013, by Father Duane Klizek at Holy Family Parish, St. Joseph's Church, 1413 Pine Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY. Entombment will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lewiston.

Francis "Frank" Donato, 79, who enjoyed attending his Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion meetings, died unexpectedly Tuesday (Oct. 3, 2000) in Mount St. Mary's Hospital, Lewiston.
He was born in Niagara Falls, attended local schools and enjoyed spending time with his family.
Donato served in the U.S. Army during World War II from 1940 to 1945. He served in the Aleutian Islands and in northern France in the Battle of the Bulge.
He was a carpenter who worked for various contractors out of his union. In addition, he was a lather and business agent for a lathers' union.
Donato was a member of St. Leo's Catholic Church, Niagara Falls, Carpenters' Union Local 280, and a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 917 of Niagara Falls and a member of Wheatfield Post 1451, American Legion, for more than 15 years. In addition, he served on its board of directors.
Survivors include his wife, the former Mary L. Woomer; three sons, Rickie Donato of Lewiston, Richard Sever of Lockport and Francis Donato; three daughters, Kathy Sonberg of Newfane, VA Berds of Lewiston and Sandra Rovison; four sisters, Angeline Corsaro, Florence Donato, Lena Appoloney and Josephine Tedesco, all of Niagara Falls; 15 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 9:30 A.M. Friday in St. Leo's Catholic Church, 2748 Military Road, Niagara Falls, following prayers at 9 in M.J. Colucci & Son Funeral Chapel, 468 19th St., Niagara Falls. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery Mausoleum, Niagara Falls

Josephine M. (Donato) Tedesco, 96 years old, passed away on December 31, 2020.  She was born in Niagara Falls on March 18, 1924, the daughter of the late Joseph and Maria (DeFazio) Donato.​​Josephine attended local schools.  She worked as a clerk for the New York State Parks and Recreation Department at the Cave of the Winds for 40 years and retired at the age of 86.  Josephine enjoyed baking and cooking for her family and friends.  She was predeceased by her husband, Thomas J. Tedesco who passed away on January 16, 2003.  Her family wishes to thank all the nieces and nephews for their care and concern; and Josephine's caregivers for all of their care and compassion.​Josephine is survived by her son, Thomas D. (Kathleen) Tedesco; her grandson, Thomas J. (fiance Kimm Markovich) Tedesco; her great-granddaughter, Taylor; her great-grandson Thomas P. and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.  She was predeceased by her sisters; Angeline Corsaro, Lena Appoloney and Florence Donato and her brothers, Anthony Donato and Francis Donato.​There will be a private entombment in St. Joseph's Mausoleum with Rev. Duane R. Klizek officiating.  A celebration of Josephine's life will be held at a later date.

RONALD "RED" APPOLONEYDECEMBER 10, 1944 - APRIL 8, 2020​Ronald "Red" Samuel Appoloney, 75 years old, passed away on April 8, 2020.  He was born in Niagara Falls on December 10, 1944, the son of the late Frank "Appy" and Lena (Donato) Appoloney. ​Red worked as a laborer for Laborers Local 91 for over 30 years until his retirement in 2006.  He enjoyed gardening, sports and the New York Yankees. Most importantly Red loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.​Red is survived by his children; Anthony (Rebekah Pitoni) Appoloney, Maria (Edward Smith) Appoloney, Ronald (Allison) Appoloney and Gina (Vince Cerrone) Appoloney; his grandchildren Nicholas, Lauren, Tori and Ronald III Appoloney; great- grandson, Alaric Appoloney and his sister, Penelope "Penny" (Mark) McMahan-Adams and several nieces and nephews.  In addition to his parents Red was predeceased by his sister, Frances (Donald) Boyd and his infant brother, Richard Appoloney.  ​Private services and interment in St. Joseph's Cemetery were held for the family.  A Memorial Mass will be held on a date to be announced.  Those wishing to make a contribution in Red's memory are asked to considerSt. Jude Children's Hospital, P.O. The passing of Thomas D. Tedesco of Niagara Falls, New York leaves a void in the hearts of many, as we bid farewell to a loving soul who departed on May 26, 2024. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
