    Mrs. Mary Rountree died today
    at her home. 2407 Weston avenue,
    after a brief illness. Born at Merritton.
    Ont. she came to this city
    40 years ago. She was the widow
    of Alexander Rountree.
    Mrs. Rountree was a communicant
    of the Sacred Heart church
    and a member of the Ladies Catholic
    Benevolent association.
    Surviving are four sons. James.
    Alexander. Joseph and John Rountree.
    and a daughter. Mrs. John
    Gleason. of this city; three brothers.
    Matthew Walsh, of Merriton.
    Ont. William Walsh, of Pontiac.
    Mich, and Thomas Walsh, of Niagara
    Falls, and two sisters. Miss
    Cecelia Walsh and Mrs. Monica
    Daley, of Merriton. Three grandchildren
    also survive.
    Funeral services will be held at
    9 a.m. Monday at the home and a
    half hour later at the Sacred Heart
    church. Interment will be in the
    Gate of Heaven cemetery.

    3827 Macklem Ave. died Sunday
    (Aug. 23, 1970) in Memorial
    Medical Center where he had
    been a patient since Aug. 15.
    A native of Niagara Falls, he
    was the son of Alexander and
    Mary Walsh Rountree. He
    received his bachelor o f
    business administration degree
    from Niagara University and
    was employed at The Carborundum
    Co. for 43 years, Mr.
    Rountree was employed in the
    p r o d u c t i o n p l a n n i ng
    d e p artment-bonded abrasive
    division when he became ill
    He was a member of Knights
    of Columbus Council 247, the
    St. Teresa Holy Name Society,
    the 40-year Club a t Carborundum,
    the National Camper
    and Hikers Association and the
    LaSalle Sportsman's Club.
    Survivors Include his widow,
    Anne Mahoney Rountree; a
    son, Michael J. Rountree of
    Newfane; and daughter, Mrs.
    Walter (Alice) Rivers of this
    city; three brother, Alexander
    P. R o u n t r e e Of North
    Tonawanda and Joseph P, and
    John A. Rountree, both of this
    city; a sister, Mrs. John (Ann)
    Gleason of this city, and two
    grandchildren.
    Funeral services will be held
    at the Rhoney Funeral Home
    Wednesday at 9:15 a.m. and
    at St. Teresa of the Infant Jesus
    Church at 10 a.m.
    Burial will be in Gate of
    Heaven Cemetery.
    Members of the Knights of
    Columbus and St. Teresa Holy
    Name Society will recite the
    rosary Tuesday at 8 p.m. at
    the funeral home.
    The family will be present at
    the funeral home from 11 a.m.
    to 9 p.m. today and Tuesday.

    (Webster/Niagara Falls) - Joseph Patrick Rountree died peacefully on Friday, February 5, 2010 at St. John's Home in Rochester. Joseph was born on October 18, 1915 in Niagara Falls, NY to the late Alexander and Mary (Walsh) Rountree, and attended Our Lady of the Rosary Grammar School and St. Mary's High School. He married Dora Olscamp at St. Mary's of the Cataract Church on August 23, 1941. Unknown to him at the time, he was disallowed from military service in World War II as he was employed at the former Hooker Chemical Corporation in the Production of the top secret Manhattan Project. He continued working at Hooker (now Oxy Chem) as a plastics and sheet metal worker for 40 years, retiring in 1980. In 2000 he moved to Webster to be closer to his daughter and son.Joe was a member of Sacred Heart Church for over 50 years and was a past President of its Holy Name Society. He was a lifelong member of Knights of Columbus Council #247 and Council #4618 in Webster. He was a charter member of the Father Browne Division of the Ancient Order of Hibernians, was its Grand Marshall for the St. Patrick's Day parade in 2002.He was predeceased by his wife of 49 years, Dora; brothers, James (Ann Mahoney), Jack (Ruth McMahon), Alexander "Bud" (Ruth Sullivan) Rountree and sister, Ann (John) Gleason. He is survived by his son, Patrick Joseph (Susan York) of Caledonia, NY and daughter, Kathleen Marie (James) Walsh of Webster, NY. He is also survived by grandchildren, Erin, Timothy (Molly), Mark, Monica and Sarah Rountree, Brian (Sheila) Walsh and Elena (Jason) Lipsi and four great-grandchildren.The family wishes to express its special thanks and gratitude to the residents and staff of Baywinde Senior Living for their friendship, love and care for Joe. Also to the staff of St. John's Home for their wonderful and compassionate care.The family will be present at the RHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 1124 Ontario Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY on Sunday from 2-5 PM, where funeral services will be held Monday at 10:00 AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM at St. Mary of the Cataract Church, 259 Fourth Street, Niagara Falls, NY, with the Rev.     Donna Rountree McKnight, 64, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 30, 2016 at Mt. St. Mary's Hospital in Lewiston, NY. Born on May 4, 1951 in Niagara Falls, NY, she was the daughter of the late John A and Ruth M (McMahon) Rountree. On August 1, 1981 she married Richard J. McKnight at St. Mary's of the Cataract RC Church in Niagara Falls, NY. She is the mother of Richard John McKnight of Charleston, SC.
    Donna was a devout Roman Catholic, a longtime member of the parish of St. Mary's of the Cataract, and extremely proud of her Irish heritage. Retirement afforded her an opportunity to travel extensively, her favorite destinations were Charleston, SC and Walt Disney World in Orlando, FL. A member of Niagara Falls High School's Class of 1969, Donna graduated Cum Laude with a B.S. In Speech Pathology from Nazareth College of Rochester in 1973. She also obtained her M.S. in Speech Pathology from the State University of New York - Geneseo in 1974. Donna began her teaching career at St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Elementary School in Dunkirk, NY that year. In 1975, she began her long career as a Speech/Language Pathologist with the Niagara Falls City School District. Donna worked at various elementary and middle schools throughout the district in her 34 year career before retiring due to disability in 2009. During that time, Donna received her Certificate of Clinical Competency (CCC) in Speech/Language Pathology from the American Speech and Hearing Association. Throughout her career, Donna was involved in many school committees and activities.
    Besides her loving husband and son, Donna is survived by her sister-in-law Maureen (late Robert) McKnight of Lockport, brother-in-law Mark J McKnight of Alexandria VA, and sister-in-law, Mary Catherine (John) Calabro of Clifton Park NY. Additionally, Donna is survived by her loving first cousins, Gail Haseley. Marianne (Bert) Wilms, Kathleen (Jim) Walsh, Patrick (Susan) Rountree, John Rountree, John (Mary Ellen) Gleason, Sharon (Michael) Goulet, as well as their extended families
    and many other cousins. She is also survived by nieces, Katherine (Chuck) Haas, Colleen (Patrick) Murray. Kathleen Calabro; and nephew, Matthew Calabro.
    The McKnights would like to express their deepest gratitude to the staff of Mt. St. Mary's Hospital for not only their tireless medical efforts but also the courtesy and compassion they demonstrated to both Donna and her family during her time there.
    There will be no prior visitation. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to DonorsChoose.org, which helps provide funding for public school classrooms and will continue to honor the commitment to education that Donna dedicated her life to.
