    NIAGARA FALLS — Russell L. Stewart, age 74, of Pekin, was called to his heavenly home unexpectedly on November 4, 2010 in Mount St. Mary's Hospital. Born in Pennington Gap, VA, on December 2, 1935 to the late Boyd and Hallie (Oreck) Stewart.

    He moved to the Western NY area in his early 20's and served in the U.S. Air Force. Russ was employed at Wendt's Dairy in Niagara Falls for 38 years, retiring as an assistant supervisor. He is a member of St. Andrew Lutheran Church in Pekin and a former active member of Tri-Community Ambulance Service, Inc. for 25 years. Hobbies and interests included woodworking, the Civil War, and NASCAR.

    Russ was predeceased by his wife, Carol (Blank) Stewart on August 29, 2008; and a sister, Ruth Cosby. Survivors include three sons, Brian Stewart of Pekin, Steven (Deborah) Stewart and Kevin Stewart both of Ransomville; seven grandchildren, Jared, Shawn, Kyle, Kaylee, Jessica, Angela and Jonathon; a great-granddaughter, Allisson; and a brother, Boyd Stewart, Jr.

    Friends may call at the DUBOIS FUNERAL HOME, 2436 Niagara Road, (Bergholz) in Wheatfield on FRIDAY from 5 - 8 PM. Services will be conducted by the Rev. R.P. Vogeler, on Saturday at 11:00 AM in the funeral home. Interment in St. Mark Lutheran Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Pekin Fire Company.

    Obituary of Steven Stewart

    Steven R. Stewart, age 54 of Ransomville NY, died unexpectedly on Wednesday March 30, 2016 at his residence.


    Steven was born March 9, 1962 in North Tonawanda, NY, the son of the late Russell and Carol (Blank) Stewart and was a1978 graduate of Niagara Wheatfield High School. For the past year he was employed as a tow motor operator by Excel in Lockport. Previously, Steven was an operator at Wendt’s Dairy in Niagara Falls for 30 years. He married Deborah (Cobo) Stewart on August 10, 1997 and they have lived in Ransomville since 2001.


    Steven was a lifetime member of the NRA and a former member of the Pekin Volunteer Fire Company. He also was an avid hunter.


    He is survived by his wife, Deborah; a daughter, Kaylee Stewart of Wilson; two brothers, Brian and Kevin Stewart both of Ransomville; and his mother and father in law, Dolly and David Cobo.


    Friends may call at HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, 3648 Ransomville Road, Ransomville on Saturday, April 2, from 1- 4 pm. Funeral Services will begin at 4:00 pm in the funeral home, with the Rev. Robert Hoffman officiating. Burial in St. Mark’s Lutheran Cemetery will be private. In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made to the Pekin Volunteer Fire Company, 3024 Upper Mountain Rd. Sanborn, NY 14132.
