Beatrice Ann Stubbs (Littrell) Nelson, 88, passed away peacefully on December 18, 2022 in Martinsburg, West Virginia at her caregiver's house, lovingly cared for by Shelly Justice, whom she adored. Beatrice was born on August 17, 1934 in North Tonawanda, NY to Edgar and Estella Stubbs (both deceased); sister to Roberta (deceased) and Richard Koch of Kingman, AZ and Joan Quimby and Carl Quimby of Kingman, AZ. Bea graduated from North Tonawanda High school class of 1952. She later worked at Remington Rand in North Tonawanda as a clerk, where she met her future husband, Neil! They were married in 1969 until his death in 2000. Beatrice also worked at ITT Aimco, finally retiring from Franklin Trafficking in Sanborn, NY in 1993 whereupon she and Neil moved to Pahrump, NV. There, she enjoyed volunteering at the Friends of the Library and going to the local yarn shop for knitting and friends. When Neil passed away in 2000 she moved in with her son, Jim, and his family in Riverside, CA. In Riverside, Bea belonged to two Senior Centers and went just about five days a week: The Janet Goeske Center and Villegas Center. She loved participating in both groups and enjoyed making friends. Bea made friends very easily and was well liked. In 2017 she moved back to the Town of Tonawanda, NY to live with her daughter, Kathy. There, she was a member of the Town of Tonawanda Senior Citizens Center and enjoyed participating in the Friday Morning Ladies Social Club. Bea was also a member of the Yarnies Group and was an honorary member of the NT Class of 1973 Blanket Babes; she also enjoyed going to Heather's Yarn Shop. Bea loved visiting with her sisters and their spouses in Arizona, especially spending time RVing at the Colorado River. When the three sisters were together they really had fun-playing bingo, doing puzzles, knitting, and crocheting, and going to local groups for fun, laughs, and antics. Bea loved to knit, crochet, read, and do puzzles. She enjoyed playing cards, especially with her grandchildren. It is estimated that she single-handedly made over 300 custom-made afghans to donate to various charities over the years, including the Linus Project, Tonawanda Yarnies, and Blanket Babes. While in California, she made and donated cotton bandages for leper communities and in New York made hats and scarves for local charities in the Town of Tonawanda and Sheridan Parkside Neighborhood. Bea is survived by her five children: Kathy Russell (Wayne-deceased) and Dennis Feeley of Town of Tonawanda, NY; Christy Kohl (Jerry-deceased) of Warsaw, NY; Alan and Kate Nelson of Wheatfield, NY; James and OdaLisa Nelson of Martinsburg, WV; and Jeffrey and Dana Nelson of Grandville, MI. She leaves eleven grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Bea was a wonderful mother, wife, and grandmother and was loved by all. She will be missed greatly. In Lieu of Flowers, Bea wished donations to be made to The Salvation Army at 46 Broad Street, Tonawanda, NY 14150, where her parents were long-time members. Donations can also be made to the Town of Tonawanda Senior Center at 291 Ensminger Rd, Tonawanda, NY 14150. Services will be held at Fretthold Funeral Home, 1241 Oliver Street, North Tonawanda on Friday, January 13 beginning at 10:30 AM with an hour of gathering, then a Memorial Service at 11:30 AM. A luncheon for family and friends will be held afterwards at Abiding Savior Lutheran Church, 1534 Ruie Road, NT, NY 14120.
