We are heartbroken to announce the passing of Charles “Chuck” Henry Argy, Jr. on Wednesday, October 5, 2022 in Wimauma, Florida with his family by his side. His battle with B-Cell Lymphoma this year showed his courage in facing life challenges with a positive attitude. He will be sadly missed and will always hold a place in our hearts.
Chuck was born January 6, 1940, in Niagara Falls, NY. He graduated from Bishop Duffy High School, Niagara Falls, in 1957 and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Detroit in 1962. Chuck married Rebecca “Becky” Phillips, the love of his life, on November 30, 1963 in Niagara Falls, NY.
He began his 40-year career with Western Electric/AT&T Technologies/Lucent in Buffalo, NY in 1961. The family moved to Greensboro, NC in 1969 and then to Lilburn, GA in 1973. One of his most enjoyable assignments was living in Santiago, Chile overseeing the building of their mobile networks. Chuck retired in 2001 and remained in Lawrenceville, GA until moving to Wimauma, FL in 2016.
In his younger years he enjoyed bowling, camping, and supporting the various Atlanta hockey teams. After retirement he loved attending his grandson’s sporting events and traveling throughout the United States, South America, Europe, and the Mediterranean. One of his favorite things was relaxing at the beach and we have many fond memories of him at our annual beach trip with family and friends.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years Rebecca Phillips Argy; son Michael Argy (Saul Reyes) of Dallas, TX; daughter Renee Argy Sullivan (Shawn) of Sandy Springs, GA; Grandchildren Patrick, Ryan, and Liam Sullivan; many loving brothers and sisters in-laws; numerous nieces and nephews.

    Mary Agnes Hogan

    Niagara Gazette

ALEXANDRIA, VA — Mary Agnes Hogan, formerly of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on Sunday, January 19, 2014 in Alexandria, VA. She lived almost all of her 96 years in Niagara Falls, NY. Mary was predeceased by her loving husband, John "Jack" Hogan; brothers, Richard Argy and Monsignor William Argy, and a sister, Margaret Argy. Mary is survived by her sister, Sister Mary William Argy (Sisters of St. Joseph) and her children, John E. Hogan (Virginia) and their children, Elizabeth and Victoria; Margaret Hogan Roy (William Roy) and their son, Christian Janik; Catherine Hogan, Teresa Hogan Tagliarini (Thomas) and their children, Julia and Nickolas, and Anna Marie Hogan Carstensen (David).

Graduating from St. Rose's College, School of Nursing, she worked as a registered nurse at the Kimberly Clark company and later at Niagara Falls Memorial Hospital. She was such a caring and giving person that after retiring from Memorial Hospital, she volunteered there for another 20 years. Mary also volunteered for Meals on Wheels and for a local soup kitchen. She had a deep religious faith and was a woman of strong convictions, never letting her relatively petite size get in the way of expressing her heartfelt opinions, but never in an overbearing way. Mary was affectionately known as "le petite general." She was greatly admired for her strength of character, as well as for her physical stamina shoveling snow until well into her 90s.

As a wife, sister, mother, grandmother and friend - she was a caretaker in all of those roles; someone you knew would come running immediately if you needed anything.

But she was also "always ready to go" - a trip, an outing, an adventure was always met with a "Sure, let's go!". Mary lived a strong and giving life touching the hearts of many along the journey. She will be missed.

The family will receive friends on Monday from 4-7 PM in the Chapel of OTTO REDANZ FUNERAL HOME, 2215 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY (716-297-9007), where funeral services will begin on Tuesday, January 28th at 9:15 AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM, which will be celebrated in St. Vincent de Paul Parish at the St. Leo's worship site, 2748 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Lewiston, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorial offerings may be made to any of the following: the Sisters of St. Joseph, 1425 Washington Street, Watertown, NY 13601; St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105; or Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Drive, Lockport, NY 14094.
