FUNERAL OF JOHN
SY WILL BE HELD
MONDAY AFTERNOON
Arrangements have been made to
hold the funeral of John Sy. the aged
man who disappeared from his home,
No. 2209 Pierce avenue on August 9
on Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock
from the family home and later from
the German St. Paul's Lutheran
church at Cleveland avenue artel Eigh-
teenth street.
The family Mr. Sy are of the opinion
that he committed suicide by
jumping into the Niagara river and
that his body was washed out into
the lalce whe-re it was found. Wit-
nesses have been found who say that
they saw the aged man on the street
walking about in an aimless way and
asking the whereabouts of his home.
It Is believed that in a fit of temporary
aberration he wandered down to the
river and jumped in.

Mrs. Jagow Dies at 62
Mrs. Philip (Lizette) Jagow, 62, died today (Nov. 30, 1966) in Memorial Hospital after a short illness. Mrs, Jagow had lived at 4621 Terrace Drive, this city. She was born in the Town of Wheatfield and lived here 21 years. She was a member of St. James Lutheran Church in Bergholtz. Survivors include her husband; two sisters, Miss Martha Walck and Miss Hilda Walck, and a brother, Alvin Walck, all of Rochester. Rev. Robert Lehman will conduct funeral services at St. James Lutheran Church in Bergholtz at 1:30 p.m. Saturday. Burial wil lbe in St. James Cemetery. Friends may call at the Cornell & Daggett Funeral Chapel Thursday and Friday from 2 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.

Harold F. Schultz, a math teacher in the Kenmore-Town of Tonawanda school system for 30 years, died Wednesday (Aug. 12, 1998) in Mount St. Mary's Hospital, Lewiston, after a long illness. He was 60.
Schultz, who lived on Errick Road, was born in Niagara Falls and was a graduate of LaSalle High School. He also attended Case Western University in Cleveland and graduated with a bachelor's degree in mathematics from the University at Buffalo. He also did post-graduate work at Buffalo State College.
Schultz retired as a teacher in 1993.
He was a lifelong member of Grace Lutheran Church in Niagara Falls, was a member of the board of elders and served as president of the congregation.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating and woodworking.
Survivors include his wife, the former Jane Winkley, and three sons, Dr. Douglas A. of Buffalo, Darryl J. of Niagara Falls and Craig M.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in Grace Lutheran Church, 716 Cayuga Drive, Niagara Falls. Burial will be in Wheatfield Cemetery.

Ellen Previte, 77, of Amherst, NY, and formerly of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on December 2, 2022, at her residence. Born in Buffalo, NY, she was the daughter of the late Martin and Edith (Schutte) Schultz; a step-daughter of the late Lloyd Harrington.
Ellen was raised in Niagara Falls and a graduate of the nursing program at Trott Vocational High School. On September 19, 1964, she married Anthony Previte at St. Joseph’s Church. Mr. Previte predeceased her in 2013, after 49 memorable years together.
Ellen was a devout Catholic and longtime parishioner of St. Joseph Church, where she was employed as the bookkeeper for over 22 years prior to retiring in 2010. She was also an avid fan of the Buffalo Bills, New York Yankees and loved anything, and everything Disney. Above all, Ellen centered her life around her beloved family, who will miss her dearly.
Ellen is survived by her children, Michael (Lisa) Previte, David (Michele) Previte and Kathleen (David) Yermas; her eight grandchildren, Domenic and Margaret Previte, Joshua (Victoria) Previte, Jessica (Ryan) Edwards and Jacob Previte, and Anthony, Mia and Domenic Yermas; her great-grandchildren, Jay and Luca Previte; her brother, Duane (Candace) Schultz; her step-siblings, Janice Lasal, Norma O’Brien, Beth Knight, Lanie Seymour, Ron Harrington, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by one brother, Keith Schultz; one great-grandchild, Grayson Edwards; four step-siblings, Roger Harrington, Doug Harrington, Dick Harrington and Mary Lou Krish.
Visitation will be Friday, December 9 from 3 – 8 PM at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY where funeral services will begin on Saturday at 9:15 AM, followed by Ellen’s Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in Holy Family Parish at St. Joseph Church, 1413 Pine Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY. Entombment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Kidney Foundation of WNY or the Alzheimer’s Association.
