    C. Diane Farino, age 88, of North Tonawanda. Passed peacefully November 15th, 2021. Will be forever loved and missed by her husband of 68 years, John, devoted mother of John (Wendy), Kathy (Mike), Kelli (Scott), Jeff (Diane), cherished grandmother (6) of Derek, Alisha, Lee, Jenifer, Heather, Stephanie, great grandmother (6), Zander, Dahlia, Carter, Olivia, Evelyn, Zoey, Ellie. Diane had retired as a secretary from UB Dental School. She enjoyed traveling with John in their RV. She enjoyed cooking, sewing and crafts, but most of all being with her family and friends. She will be remembered for her joy of life, kind heart and caring for others. She will be missed by all. Friends and family may call at the Fretthold Funeral Home, 1241 Oliver St. at Ward Rd. in North Tonawanda, on Friday, November 19, from 4-8 PM and on Saturday from 9:30 – 10:30 AM. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Saturday beginning at 10:30 AM. Interment in Acacia Park Cemetery. Flowers gratefully declined.     Betty Shackle, 90, of Buffalo, NY, died Wednesday, December 9, 2015 while being cared for by Hospice Buffalo.

    Betty was born Jan 18, 1925 in Buffalo, NY, daughter of Clarence and Gertrude Kelly. The family later moved to North Tonawanda which became her home.

    While working during WWII at Bell Aircraft in the Buffalo area, she met and married Wallace Shackle and began a family. After raising her children she turned her attention to caring for others and became an LPN. Throughout her life, her focus and passion remained with her large family which meant traveling often to visit.

    Betty was predeceased by the love of her life, her husband, Wallace L. Shackle, of 62 years on December 25, 2006, and her son Thomas W. Shackle on February 5, 2011.

    The eldest of eight children she is survived by her two daughters, Janet K. (Jay) Shelton of Sammamish, WA, and Melissa G. (Edward) Taylor of St. Cloud, FL; sisters, Muriel 'Pinky' (Kenneth) Ferchen of Niagara Falls, NY, Diane (John) Farino of North Tonawanda, NY; brother, Donald Kelly (Sara) of North Tonawanda, NY. Betty was predeceased by siblings, Doris (Robert) DeWees of Sarasota, FL, Robert Kelly of Boca Raton, FL, Raymond Kelly of Niagara Falls, NY, and Beverly (Howard) Miller of Chicago, IL. She will continue to live in the hearts of her five grandchildren, eight great- grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

    Many thanks go to Hospice Buffalo and Schofield Nursing Home for the kind and compassionate care Betty received. A memorial service is planned for Monday, December 14, 2015 at 11:30 am at DuBois Funeral Home in Bergholz in the town of Wheatfield.

    NIAGARA FALLS — Raymond H. Kelly, 73, of Sanborn, NY, died Tuesday May 18, 2010, at home with his loving sons, while under care of Niagara Hospice. Raymond was born in North Tonawanda, NY, on December 4, 1936, the son of Clarence and Gertrude (Stallard), where he attended local schools and was a graduate of North Tonawanda High School. He was employed as a steamfitter, through Steamfitter's Local # 22, where he was a 50-year member, on numerous manufacturing plants in Western New York. He was a member of the Holy Ghost Lutheran Church Bergholz, NY. He was predeceased by his wife of 47 years, the former Arlene F. Szarejko, on August 23, 2003 He hobbies including traveling and maintaining his rental properties. Ray especially enjoyed spending time with his two son's, friends and family. Surviving is his two sons, Ronald R. Kelly of Niagara Falls, NY, Michael S. Kelly of Sanborn, NY; his brothers, Robert Kelly of Boca Raton, FL; Donald (Sara) Kelly of North Tonawanda, NY; sisters, Doris (Robert) DeWees of Canada; Betty Shackle of North Tonawanda, Muriel (Kenneth) Ferchen of Bergholz, NY, Diane (John) Farino of North Tonawanda, NY; a sister-in-law, Lois M. (William) Siebert of Voorhees, NJ; brothers-in-law, Dr. Victor P. (Crystal) Szarejko, of Youngstown, NY and Howard Miller of Chicago, IL; and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Beverly Miller. The family will be present at the RHONEY FUNERAL HOME, SANBORN, 5893 Hoover Road, on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM, where Funeral Services will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, with Rev. Philip N. Sallach officiating. Should friends desire, memorials in Ray's memory may be made to the Niagara Hospice, Inc., 4675 Sunset Drive, Lockport, NY 14094 or the Sanborn Fire Company.
