    Mr. Tirabassi
    died Thursday
    (Jan. 14,
    1965). He wa
    pronunced
    dead on admis-
    sion to Memor-
    ial Hospital. Death was at-
    tributed to a heart attack.
    He was born in New York
    City, the son of Mr. a id Mrs.
    Salvatore Tirabassi, and had
    lived in Niagara Falls for 46
    years. He was a member of
    the Bishop Duffy Men's Club,
    the Niagara Falls Area Cham-
    ber of Commerce, the YMCA,
    the United Mote Business
    Association and the Hoy
    Name Society of Prince of
    Peace Church.
    He graduated from Niagara
    Fallsl High School and, during
    the earlly '30s, played guard
    with the Niagara Falls Rang-
    ers and the Stone Gordons
    football teams and also play-
    ed semi-professional baseball
    with the Elperts team as a
    second baseman.
    Mr. Tirabassi opened the
    Bell-Aire Motel in 1949. Prior
    to that year he had been em-
    ployed for 18 years as a chem-
    ical operaor at the Oldbury
    Electro-Chemical Co.
    He is susrvived y his wid-
    ow, Rose Tirabassi; one son,
    Benjamin Tirabassi Jr.,, and
    one daughter, Miss Sally Tira-
    bassi, all of Niagara Falls; two
    brothers, Santo and Alfred
    Tirabassi and three sisteers,,
    Mrs. Laurino (Filomina)
    D'Amico,, Miss Stella Tirabas-
    si, and Miss Antoinette Tira-
    bassi,, all of Niagara Falls.
    Friends may call at the
    funeral home from 5 p.m. to
    10 p..m. today and 1 to 10 p..m.
    Saturday and Sunday.

    The.body of 24year-old Pfc. Sal-
    Vatore T Tirabassi is expected to
    arrive here at 9:20 a.m. tomorrow;
    accompanied by an army corporal.
    Funeral services for the GI, who
    met death when an army .truck qverturned
    in Austria one day after his
    twenty-fourth birthday, will be held
    at 9:30 a.m, Tuesday at the Spallino
    Funeral home, followed by a Requiem
    Mass at Our Lady of the Ros-
    ary church.V Interment will be in
    - Gate of Heaven cemetery.
    The son of Mr. and Mrs. Santo
    Tirabassi, 2451 LaSalle avenue, he
    died February 3 of possible asphyxiation
    due to drowning when the
    vehicle in which he was riding skid-
    ded on the ice and overturned into
    a stream.
    In Army Since January, 1951
    -. Pfc. Tirabassi, who had been serving
    with the 70th U..S. Engineering
    battalion in Austria since October 8,
    1952, was drafted here on January
    17, 1951.
    In addition to his parents, he is
    survived by his. wife; Mrs. Delbres
    Tirabassi (nee, Daunce), 3543 Ferry
    avenue, to whom he was wed 2-1/2
    years ago at Our Lady of the Rosary
    church. The grandson of Salvatore
    Tirabassi, this city, he is the brother
    of Mrs. William Marshall, Buffalo,
    and HM3/c George A. Tirabassi,
    Camp Pendleton, Calif.
    A military escort at the funeral
    will be furnished by Air Defense
    group 9518 with the Niagara Falls
    Boys' club providing a. bugler. The
    body is being brought, to Niagara
    Falls aboard a train from New
    York City by Cpl. Herbert N. Fogal,
    at the direction of Maj. Frank M.
    Green, Jr., chief of the American
    Graves Registration branch of the
    New York Port of Embarkation.
    Worked for DuPont
    - Prior to entering t h e service P fc
    Salvatore was a process worker at
    the duPont cyanide. pIant for nine
    months. Before that, he had worked
    for six years as a machine tender at
    the Kimberly-Clark corporation.
    A graduate of the Trott Vocational
    high school at the age of 18, he was
    active in sports there and on in-
    dustrial teams. In' both the industrial
    and scholastic leagues, he distinguished
    himself as a capable football
    and softball player.
    The family received a. Defense
    department telegram two days after
    the accident occurred. In it, the military
    stated that- every thing possible
    had been done in an-attempt at reviving him.

    Donna M. O’Leary, 81, of Lewiston, NY, passed away on July 1, 2020 at Niagara Hospice House in Lockport, NY.  Born in Niagara Falls, she was the daughter of the late Laurino and Filomena (Tirabassi) D’Amico.
    Donna graduated from Niagara Falls High School in 1957.  On November 26, 1959, she married Thomas P. O’Leary at St. Joseph Church in Niagara Falls.  Mr. O’Leary predeceased her on July 16, 2009.
    During her high school years, Donna worked at Stella’s Tots to Teens Store.  After graduation, she worked at Marine Midland Bank, and later at Kimberly Clark Corporation as an office clerk until 1960, when she became a stay at home Mom.
    She cherished the time spent with her family, and loved supporting her grandchildren at all of their events.  From soccer, basketball, baseball, softball, band, chorus, musicals, debate club and robotics, she never missed an opportunity to enthusiastically cheer on her grandchildren.  
    Donna is survived by her sons, Michael A. (Pamela) O’Leary, Kings Park, NY; Dennis J. (Debra) O’Leary, Grand Island, NY; and Mark J. (Carol) O’Leary, Boca Raton, FL; six grandchildren, Matthew, Allison, Meaghan, Kevin, Sean and Patrick; her sister, Suzanne (Sam) Floro, her sister in law, Jennie Borgese, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.  In addition to her husband of 49 years, Donna was predeceased by her sister, Adeline (Joe) Vitale, and her brothers, Louis “Red” (Evelyn) D’Amico and John (Jennie) Cicchetti as well as her sister in law MaryEllen O’Leary.
    Donna graciously donated her body to the University of Buffalo Anatomical Gift Program.  A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, July 18th at 10 AM at St. Peter’s R.C. Church, 620 Center Street, Lewiston, NY 14092.  In lieu of flowers, donations in Donna’s memory may be made to Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Drive, Lockport, NY 14094, Roswell Park Alliance Foundation, PO Box 631, Buffalo, NY 14240 or to Lewiston Fire Company, No. 1, 145 North 6th Street, Lewiston, NY 14092.  Arrangements by M.J.
