    TOWN OF WHEATFIELD — Betty Jane (Schoenthal) Ziemendorf, of the Town of Wheatfield, NY, died Tuesday June 8, 2010, in the DeGraff Memorial Hospital following a long illness. Betty Jane was born in Buffalo, NY on February 8, 1939, the daughter of Dorothy (Gilbert) Schoenthal and the late Harold Schoenthal. She resided in the Town of Elma as a child, where she attended local schools and was a member of the second graduating class of the Iroquois Central High School, in 1957. She moved to the Town of Wheatfield following her marriage to Lloyd V. Ziemendorf in 1962. She was a member of St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church North Tonawanda, NY, where she was current president of the Congregational Council of the church and active in Synodical activities. She was the former Office Manager of Frontier Co-op Fire Insurance Association and had served as Office Manager, Commercial Underwriter and Vice President of United Frontier Mutual Insurance Co., prior to her retirement. She enjoyed quilting, especially quilting for Project Linus, for Children's Hospital, and making Prayer Shawl's for Roswell Park Cancer Institute. Spending time in the garden and being with family was most important to her, especially with her grandchildren. Betty Jane is survived by her mother, Dorothy; her husband of 48 years, Lloyd; her three children, David Ziemendorf, Carol (David) Wunderlich, and Donald (Melissa) Ziemendorf; three brothers, Ray (Dorothy) Schoenthal, Harvey (June) Schoenthal and David (Linda) Schoenthal; loving grandmother of Sara (Joshua), Lindsay, William, Nathan, Austin, Brandon, and Aaron; and several nieces and nephews. She was the grandmother of the late Bryn and Nicholas Ziemendorf. The family will be present at the RHONEY FUNERAL HOME, SANBORN, 5893 Hoover Road on Saturday, from 7-9 PM, Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Funeral service will be held at 10 AM, Monday, at St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church, 64 East Felton Street, North Tonawanda, NY. Interment will be in the Wheatfield Cemetery. Should friends desire, memorials in Betty Jane's memory, they may be made to St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, 64 East Felton Street, North Tonawanda, NY 14120. Ziemendorf, 4, died Wednesday (Sept. 17; 1997) in the McMaster Medical Centre, Hamilton, Ont., after suffering injuries in an automobile accident. Bryn was born Aug. 8, 1991, in Lockport, and Nicholas was born June 24, 1993, in Lockport, the sons of David L. and Melanie L. (Licht) Ziemendorf of Slusaric Road.
    Bryn was a first-grader at Starpoint Central School. Nicholas attended preschool classes at Holy Ghost Lutheran School. In addition to their parents, they are survived by a sister, Lindsay M. Ziemendorf; their grandparents, Lee and Donna Licht. of Wheatfield and Lloyd and Betty Jane Ziemendorf of Wheatfield; their great-grandparents, Harriet and Wallace Krull, LeGrand and Lanette Licht, all of North Tonawanda, and Dorothy Schoenthal of East Aurora; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today and 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the Rhoney Funeral Home, 5893 Hoover Road, Sanborn. The Rev. David F. Ellis will conduct services at 1 p.m. Saturday at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 64 Felton St., North Tonawanda. Burial will be in Wheatfield Cemetery.
    Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church or to a children's charity of one's choice.
