Obituary of Rosalie Manuszewski
Rosalie (Ordian) Manuszewski, 75, ex-resident of Buffalo, New York, and currently a resident of Binghamton, New York, passed away on November 11, 2015, at the Susquehanna Nursing Home after a lengthy illness. She was born in 1940 in North Tonawanda, the daughter of the late Yolan and Nicholas J. Ordian. Her husband, Thomas Manuszewski, predeceased her.
Rosalie, known to many as Rosie, grew up on Nash Road in the Town of Wheatfield. She graduated from North Tonawanda High School in 1958. Over the years she had been employed at the Marine Trust Bank, secretary in various medical offices, and the First Presbyterian Church of Buffalo. In her spare time Rosie taught microwave cooking, provided care for several elderly women in the community, volunteered at the Buffalo Psychiatric Hospital, and ushered at Kleinhan’s Music Hall. She was an excellent cook, especially in Hungarian dishes and pastries.
Rosalie is survived by her son, Paul (Sasha Fassett) Manuszewski and her daughter, Kim (Dru) Embry-all residing in Binghamton. She is also survived by six grandchildren, Julian Manuszewski, Astoria, New York; Zoe Manuszewski, Bar Harbor, Maine; Michael Petersen, West Palm Beach, Florida; Jenny-Rebecca, Elizabeth, and Thomas Embry-all of Binghamton,New York; and her brother, Nicholas E. (Bernadette) Ordian of the Town of Wheatfield, in addition to nieces and nephews.
There is no prior visitation as Rosalie donated her remains to the Syracuse University School of Medicine. A memorial service will take place on November 27, 2015, at 5 p.m. at St. Jude the Apostle Church on Niagara Falls Boulevard in North Tonawanda.
