Devoted Husband, Father and Grandfather

Carl G. Virtuoso, 73, of Lewiston, NY passed away on Saturday November 7, 2015 at Niagara Hospice House in Lockport, NY while surrounded by the ones he loved. Born in Niagara Falls, NY he was the son of the late Alfred and Frances (Tedesco) Virtuoso, Sr.

Carl graduated from Bishop Duffy High School in Niagara Falls, NY and obtained his Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from the University Of Dayton, Ohio. On September 18, 1966 he married the former Cynthia M. Ryan in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church Niagara Falls, NY. In 1968, he and his brothers took over operation of the family construction firm, Virtuoso Building Company, which was founded by their father, Alfred, in 1936. Carl served along with his brothers as CEO of the business, building over 200 commercial, industrial, and residential projects in Niagara County. Their construction projects included the Key Bank Office Building on Main Street and Cedar Avenue in Niagara Falls, NY, the Niagara County S.P.C.A., the Redanz Funeral Home in the Town of Niagara, NY, and the Fatima Shrine in Lewiston, NY. Carl also owned and managed several residential properties in the area.

An avid sports fan, Carl was dedicated follower of Niagara University Basketball, and was a proud season ticket holder for over sixty-five years. He served in National Guard and was a forty-five year member of Carpenters Local #280 and a member of Knights of Columbus Council #247, both in Niagara Falls, NY.

Mr. Virtuoso is survived by his wife Cynthia M. (Ryan) Virtuoso; two children, Carla (Bob) Wegrzyn of Wheatfield, NY and Ryan J. Virtuoso of Niagara Falls, NY; four grandchildren Erin, Delaney, Robert, and Santino; his brother Gene (Elizabeth) Virtuoso of Lewiston, NY; his aunt Adeline Kilkenny; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was also predeceased by his brother, Alfred (Julie of Wilson, NY) Virtuoso, Jr. his sister, Anne Marie Virtuoso and his nephew Stephen Virtuoso

Visitation will be held on Tuesday Nov. 10th from 4-8 P.M. at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD NIAGARA FALLS, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday Nov. 11th at 10 Am in St. Peter’s Church, 620 Center St. Lewiston, NY with Rev. Msgr. David LiPuma officiating. EVERONE PLEASE ASSEMBLE AT CHURCH. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Niagara Falls, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Niagara Hospice Inc., 4675 Sunset Drive, Lockport, NY 14094 or to St. Jude Shrine, 975 Ridge Rd. Lewiston, NY 14092
