A member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church Choir
for 33 years and an organizer of the National Carbon
Choraliers, Arthur Ruff, 49. of 1819 Michigan Ave., died
today (May 14, 1963).
Mr. Ruff died at Memorial
Hospital after an illness of
three weeks. He was active in
the singing groups until he
became ill.
Mr. Ruff, a native of Buffalo,
lived in Niagara Falls
for 48 years. He was an employe
of Achcson Graphite
Plant. National Carbon Co,
for 30 years.
During World War II, Mr.
Ruff participated in the inva-
sion of Africa in 1942.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs.
Florence G. Ruff; a daughter,
Susan L. Ruff; a son, John K.
Ruff; his mother, Mrs. Henri-
etta Ruff; two sisters, Mrs.
Erwin (Helen) Bacon and Miss
Loretta Ruff; and two
brothers, William and Rich-
ard Ruff, all of this city.
Services will be from the
residence in Michigan Avenue
at 2 p.m. Friday and from St.
Paul C h u r c h at 2:30 Rev.
Theodore L. Menter will officiate.
Burial will be in St.
Paul L u t h e r a n Cemetery,
Bergholtz.
