Evelyn Mae Udell, age 88, of Lockport, entered into rest on Monday, April 23, 2018 at Eastern Niagara Hospital in Lockport. Born January 6, 1930 in Lockport, Evelyn is the daughter of the late Melvin and Dorothy (Chase) Blacklock.
Evelyn married Frank Udell in 1949. Mr. Udell died in 1982. Evelyn enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She is a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Lockport.
Surviving Evelyn are her children, Thomas (Linda) Udell, Richard (Sharon) Udell, David (Joanne) Udell and Cheryl (Fred) Jaquin; grandchildren, Wendy (Scott), Craig (Leah), Ryan, Steven, Derrick (Wendi), Garrett and Sarah; sister of Marie Tagg, Loren (Ann) Budde, Melvin (Jane) Budde, Mildred Harris, Sharon (Roy) Pecheco, Raymond (Cheryl) Blacklock and the late Arthur, Bobby and Gerald Budde. Several great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews also survive Evelyn.
There will be no prior visitation. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment will be at North Ridge Cemetery, Cambria, NY.

The first drowning of the season occurred at Olcott early
Sunday evening when a canoe containing three youths over-
turned within sight of hundreds of pleasure seekers east of.the
government piers near the mouth of Olcott Harbor
Two of the youths were resced
but Robert William Budde, 18, of
the Checkered Tavern Road. Ap-
pleton, was drowned before he was
located about fifteen minutes after
the tragedy.
Olcott firemen worked vainly
over the body with a respirator for
half an hour before he was pro-
nounced dead by a physician.
The other youths, James De Voo-
gel, 19, Newfane, and Joseph Zag-
mester, 18, Appleton, were hauled
from the water unharmed.
WAVES U SET CRAFT
They told Dr. Mabel Carmer, cor-
oner, Newfane, that they met young
Budde a short time before and told
him they were going for a canoe
ride. When he expressed a desire
to accompany them they invited
him along, they said
Waves raised by the wake of a
passing motorboat caused their
light craft to tip crazily and over-
turn, according to the youths. They
clung to the overturned canoe until
aid reached them but the Budde
youth, who could not swim, quick-
ly sank from sight.
Mr. Zagmester told Dr. Cramer
that he made a vain attempt to
save Budde as he was struggling In
the water.
"I grabbed hold of him but had
to let go when he pulled me un-
der," Mr. Zagmester said.
Dr. Carmer said that the body
was recovered by Harry McCarl of
Newfane who dove at the scene of
the drowning.
The body was taken to the Cor-
win Funeral Home at Newfane. A
watch carried by the youth had
stopped at 7:02, the coroner said.
She issued a certificate of acciden-
tal death by drowning

The youth was the son of Mel-
vin and Dorothy Case Budde of Ap-
pleton Where his father is a farm-
er.
Besides the parents, he leaves
three brothers, Lauren, Melvln J.
and Gerald Budde at home, and
three sisters, Mrs. Floyd Webb of
Gasport. Mrs. Frank Udell and Mil-
dred Budde, at home; his grand-
parents. Mr. and Mrs. William G.
Budde of Niagara Falls and Mr. and
Mrs. Charles Case of Gasport and
his great-grandmother, Mrs. Marie
Budde of Appleton.
Services will be held Wednesday
at 1 o'clock at the Corwhi Funeral
Home, Newfane. Burial will be in
North Ridge Lutheran Cemetery

Lauren C. Budde of Appleton, NY husband of Anna Eckert Budde entered in to rest on June 13, 2024, at home. He was born in Hartland, NY on September 28, 1933, son of the late Melvin Budde and Dorothy Chase Budde Blacklock. Lauren retired from General Motors. He was a jack of all trades and enjoyed farming and hunting.
Father of Kevin B., Lori (Doug), Rhonda, Richelle, Jeanette (Gregory), Lauren Jr. (Shannon), Kevin U, Roxanne (Don). Stepfather of Nancy (David), Porter (Jan), LeAnn (Roy), Terry and the late John. Brother of Sharon (Roy), Millie and the late Melvin, Gerald, Evelyn, Raymond, and Marie. Also survived by many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Family and friends may call at the Rutland-Corwin Funeral Home, Inc. 2670 Main St. Newfane, NY on Friday, June 21, 2024, from 11-1pm where a funeral service will be held at 1pm.The burial will be in Wrights Corners Cemetery. A celebration of Life will be held from 4-8pm at the Ketch Home, call for information. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Judes or Niagara Hospice would be appreciated by the family.

Obituary of Melvin Budde

Town of Hartland)  Melvin “Sonny” Budde age 84, passed away September 6, 2021 at home surrounded by his loving wife of 63 years, Jane (nee Rice), and his family.  He was born July 31, 1937 in Appleton, NY, a son of the late Melvin Carl and Dorothy (Chase) Budde and had lived in this area all of his life.
Sonny served in the U.S. Marines from 1957-1960.  He attended the Hartland United Methodist Church and the County Line United Methodist Church.  He was a member of the Lock City Lodge No. 617 Loyal Order of Moose in Lockport and was also a member of the NRA. He was an avid Buffalo Bills and NY Yankees fan.  Sonny enjoyed hunting, fishing, mowing his lawnand playing euchre; but his passion was working as a meat cutter for many years.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children Curtis (Diane) Kowalski, Deborah (Butch) Schultz, Lisa (Glenn) Neubauer, Amy (Kevin) Curtin, Elizabeth (Ronald) Wheeler; 14 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; siblings Lauren (Anne) Budde, Millie Harris, Sharon (Roy) Pacheco, Raymond (Cheri) Blacklock; brother-in-law William “Bill” Rice; best friend and cousin Walter Crutts as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and special caregivers Gail and Janice.  Sonny was predeceased by his siblings Arthur, Marie, Evelyn, Robert, Gerald and by 2 infant brothers and longtime friend Wally Todd.

(Barker/Newfane) Raymond M. Blacklock age 70, passed away peacefully April 3, 2024 at Niagara Hospice surrounded by his loving wife.  He was born August 21, 1953 in Lockport, a son of the late Maurice and Dorothy (Chase) Blacklock. 
Ray was an avid outdoorsman and loved gardening and hunting.  His passion was woodworking and made many keepsakes for family and friends.  Ray volunteered at the Faith United Methodist Church food pantry.  Most importantly, Ray loved spending time with his family and friends.  
 In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by 6 brothers and 2 sisters. 
Ray is survived by his wife of 27 years, Cheryl; daughter Christine Hoskinson; son Derick Hoskinson; siblings Sharon (Roy) Pacheco, Lauren (Ann) Budde, Millie Harris; sisters-in-law Jane (late Melvin) Budde, Pam (Rick) Ebling and their daughters and families as well as several other in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

NIAGARA FALLS — Dennis C. Harris, 46, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on Friday, September 17, 2010 in Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center. Born in Niagara Falls, NY on May 30, 1964, he was the son of Mildred (Budde) Harris and the late William S. Harris, Sr. and attended local schools. Dennis was an avid Dallas Cowboys' fan, hunter and loved the outdoors.

Besides his mother, he is survived by his wife, Tina (Rice) Harris of Pennsylvania; son, Thomas Davis of Pennsylvania; daughter, Lisa Harris of Pennsylvania; his brothers, William S. Harris, Jr. of Niagara Falls, NY, Robert (Erin) Harris of Warsaw, NC, Donald Harris of Niagara Falls, NY; sisters, Pamela (Jerry) Fuller, Tammy (Carl) Zaker, both of Niagara Falls, NY; his grandmother, Dorothy Blacklock; his close friend, Tina Marsh of Niagara Falls, NY; also several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and two great-nephews.
