    LOCKPORT -
    Amelia Ann Godzisz passed away on June 7, 2014 in her home under the loving care of her family and Niagara Hospice. Born on November 10, 1919 in Lockport, NY, she was the daughter of Louis and Sophia (Klos) Grendisa.
    Amelia worked for 28 years at Eastern Niagara Hospital (Lockport Memorial) retiring in 1985 as head housekeeper. In her spare time she enjoyed crocheting, gardening, was an avid NY Yankees fan, but her biggest joy came from spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
    Amelia is the wife of the late Stephen Godzisz, who passed away in 1969; mother of Robert (Dolores) Godzisz, Joseph Godzisz, both of Lockport, Paulette (William) Allen of Niagara Falls, NY and Susan (Rodney) Neubauer of Pendleton, NY; grandmother of Michael Godzisz, Stephanie (Jeff) Kline, Donna (Nick) Paschalides, Brian (Michelle) Neubauer and Marc Neubauer. She is also survived by 13 great-grandchildren; and is the sister of Cecelia (the late Fred) Sasiadek of Tonawanda, Anna (the late Frank) Godzisz, Helen (the late John) Fura, both of Lockport, Stella (the late Ted) Newman of Barker and the late Leon Grendisa, Catherine Karlak, Mary Kyzmir and Thomas Grendisa. Amelia was also the beloved friend of the late George Armstrong; and is also survived by several nieces, nephews and many dear friends.
    Relatives and friends may call on Thursday, June 12, 2014, 3-8 PM in Prudden and Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee Street, Lockport, NY, where prayers will be on Friday, June 13, 2014 at 9:30 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10 AM in All Saints Church. Memorials to Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Dr., Lockport, NY 14094 in Amelia's memory would be appreciated by the family.

    Ann B. Godzisz 91, of Lockport, NY wife of the late Sylvester Frank Godzisz passed away Monday, December 29, 2014 at Briodys Health Care Facility under the care of family and Staff. She was the daughter of Louis and Sophia Klos Grendisa. Ann and her husband were the owners of N. Transit Grocery in Lockport for many years and Frank’s Restaurant & Bar in Wrights Corners. Ann enjoyed gardening, sewing, cooking polish dishes and bird watching. Her greatest joy was being together with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a member of St. Brendan’s R. C. Church Newfane, NY. Ann was the loving mother of Sheila McAtee of Lockport, Kathy (John) Phillips of Cambria and Patricia (Robert) Smith of Dunkirk. Grandmother of Steven (Kathy) Waas of Palm Beach, FL, Greg (Amanda) Phillips of Wilson, NY, Mandie (Lenny Paul) Bichard of Rouses Pt., NY, Jeffrey (Shannon) Phillips of Fairport, NY. Great Grandmother of Alex, Emily, Gracie Phillips and Hanna Bichard. Sister of Cecelia Sasiadik.     Stella J. Newman passed away September 20, 2017 in Newfane Rehab & Health Care Center. Born in Lockport May 6, 1927 she was the daughter of Louis and Sophia (Klos) Grendisa. Stella was the owner and operator of Ted's Inn in Barker with her late husband, Theodore G. Newman, he passed away March 5, 1994. Prior to she worked at Harrison Radiator where she was a secretary. Stella enjoyed working in her garden.
    Stella is survived by her sons David (Clare) and Daniel Newman; sister of Cecelia Sasiadek, Helen Fura, and late Leon Grendisa, Thomas Grendisa, Catherine Karlak, Mary Kyzmir, Amelia Godzisz, and Ann Godzisz; also survived by several nieces and nephews.

    Patricia “Pat” Smith age 68 of Lockport, the wife of Robert L. Smith entered into rest suddenly on Friday, October 29, 2021. Pat was born in Lockport, daughter of the late Sylvester and Ann Godzisz.
    Pat enjoyed tending to her flowers, cross stitching, wood crafts, feeding songbirds and her pets. She loved taking trips to historic villages and homes. Pat and Robert enjoyed traveling to Australia, Scandinavia, Europe, England, Canada, Florida, Alaska, Vermont and California. They lived in St. Louis MO, Carlisle PA, and Dunkirk, NY. Pat was very proud of delivering Meals on Wheels for 13 years in the Dunkirk / Fredonia area.
    Sister of Kathy (John) Phillips and Shelia McAtee. Also survived by several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
    Family and friends may call at the Rutland-Corwin Funeral Home, Inc. 2670 Main St. Newfane, NY on Thursday from 2-5 pm where a prayer service will be held at 5pm.  In lieu of flowers, donations in Pat’s name can be made to Lakeshore Humane Society 431 E.     Obituary of Michael Karlak

    Michael G. Karlak of Lockport, NY entered into eternal rest at Eastern Niagara Hospital, Lockport Tuesday, November 27, 2018.  He was born Saturday, April 13, 1946 to the late Peter and Catherine (Grendyza) Karlak.  Michael graduated from Lockport Senior High School in 1965 then went in the United States Air Force serving his country from 1965 through 1969.  He also worked for Harrison Radiator, Division of General Motors in Lockport retiring in 1998 after working 32 years, 4 months.  Mike enjoyed downhill skiing, knitting, crocheting, going on small trips, and going to the casino with friends. 
    Michael was the husband of his late wife, Sandra R. (Thompson) Karlak, who passed away Monday, Monday, January 11, 2016.  Surviving Michael is one brother, Leon P. Karlak, Sr.; his best friends Harry L. ‘Butch’ Heaton and Paul R. Harrer and his wife Kelly, and their two little girls Delilah and Zoe; and his furry companion Hailey Marie.
    There will be no prior visitation.  Mike’s body will be cremated and buried in the same cemetery as his late wife Sandy.  Visit pruddenandkandt.com.
