    NIAGARA FALLS — Phyllis Anne (Dobie) McGee, 79, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on Monday, July 2, 2012. Phyllis was born on August 31, 1932 in Niagara Falls, NY. She was the daughter of the late Henry and Sephora Dobie. She graduated from LaSalle Jr./Sr. High School in 1951. Phyllis was predeceased by her husband and high school sweetheart, Carl E. McGee, Sr. They were married on November 10, 1951 at the First Christian Church in Niagara Falls, NY.

    Phyllis worked for C.J. Tower & Sons and then McGraw Hill until she retired. She was an active member of Flagler Chapter #355 OES, where she had been Matron several times and was a past Grand Officer for the State of New York. Phyllis also belonged to Lockport Court #145, Order of the Amaranth and Messiah Shrine #18.

    Phyllis is survived by three children, son, James (Dawn) McGee, Sr., daughter, Melodie (McGee) Stein; and son, Robert (Carole) McGee. She was predeceased by her son, Carl E. McGee, Jr., who died in 1978 while serving in the US Air Force in Korea. Phyllis was the proud grandmother of Heather McGee, Chrystal Cloud, Faith Dyal, James McGee, Jr., Caitlin McGee, Jon McGee, Kevin McGee, Jennifer McGee and Robert McGee. Phyllis was also proud to be grandma to 12 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by brothers-in-law, Jesse U. McGee, Jr. and Alfred Hewitt; her daughter-in-law, Charlotte McGee; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, James Dobie; and sister, Margaret Englert.

    There will be no prior visitation as Phyllis' body was donated to the Anatomical Gift Program at the University of Buffalo. Flagler Chapter #355 OES will hold an Eastern Star Service at 2:00 PM on Sunday, July 29, 2012 that will be followed at 2:30 PM by a Celebration of Life Service at the United Baptist Christian Church, 4800 Creek Rd., Lewiston, NY, with the Rev. Bette Bond officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Dr., Lockport, NY 14094, or to United Baptist-Christian Church, 4800 Creek Rd., Lewiston, NY 14092.
