    Lola M. (nee McGee) Hewitt, 86, of Niagara Falls, Niagara County, NY, entered into rest on Thursday, January 29, 2009, in Elderwood Health Care at Crestwood, Wheatfield, NY. Born on September 1, 1922, in Hannibal, MO, she was the daughter of the late Jessie and Josephine (Walley) McGee, Sr.Mrs. Hewitt came to Niagara Falls, Niagara County, NY in 1942. On January 1, 1943, Lola married Alfred L. “Al” Hewitt in Niagara Falls, Niagara County, NY. She was a longtime member of the former First Christian Church and currently a member of The Church at Shawnee Landing. For over 30 years, Mrs. Hewitt was a volunteer for the American Red Cross at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center. Lola and her husband, Al, also belonged to the Niagara Frontier Country Club. She enjoyed playing golf, bowling, square dancing, baking, quilting and sewing.In addition to her loving husband of 66 years, Mrs. Hewitt is also survived by four daughters, Barbara (Peter) Baker of Ransomville, NY, Linda (Campbell) (Greg) Mikolajek of North Tonawanda, Niagara County, NY, Marjorie (Larry) Minor of Holly Springs, NC and Bonnie (Jim) Sands of Charlotte, NC; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and one expecting great-grandchild. Lola is also survived by two brothers, Jessie (late Marilyn) McGee, Jr. of Niagara Falls, Niagara County, NY and Carl (Phyllis) McGee of Niagara Falls, Niagara County, NY; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by one brother, Welford McGee.Friends may call on Sunday from 2-6 PM at the OTTO REDANZ FUNERAL HOME, LaSalle Park Chapel, 2215 Military Road, Niagara Falls, Niagara County, NY (297-9007), where a funeral service will be held on Monday, February 2nd at 10:00 AM, with Rev.     NIAGARA FALLS — Carl E. McGee, Sr., 80, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on Sunday, December 12, 2010 at Niagara Hospice. Carl was born on September 27, 1930 in Detroit, MI. He was the son of the late Jesse U. McGee, Sr. and Josephine McGee. He graduated from LaSalle Jr./Sr. High School in 1949. Carl married his high school sweetheart, Phyllis Anne (Dobie) McGee on November 10, 1951 at the First Christian Church in Niagara Falls, NY.

    Carl worked for Carborundum for five years, Airco Speer for 23 years and for Niagara County, where he operated the print shop, until he retired in 1996. He also ran his own printing business for over 55 years.

    He was a member of Niagara River Lodge #785 F&AM who honored him with the Dedicated Service Award in May of this year. He was also a member of Niagara Chapter 200 Royal Arch Masons and was the present Commander of Niagara Commandery #64. Carl and his wife were also active members of Flager Chapter #355 OES, where he had been Patron 13 times and was a past Grand Officer for the State of NY. Carl belonged to Lockport Court #145, Order of the Amaranth and was Past Grand Royal Patron in 1999-2000 for the State of NY. He was also a longtime member of the LaSalle Sportsmen's Club.

    In addition to his wife of 59 years, Carl is survived by three children: son, James (Dawn) McGee, Sr.; daughter, Melodie (McGee) Stein; and son, Robert (Carole) McGee. He was predeceased by his son, Carl E. McGee, Jr., who died in 1978 while serving in the US Air Force in Korea.

    Carl was the proud grandfather of Heather McGee, Chrystal Cloud, Faith Dyal, James McGee, Jr., Caitlin McGee, Jon McGee, Kevin McGee, Jennifer McGee and Robert McGee. Carl was also proud to be grandpa to 12 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by one brother, Jesse U. McGee, Jr.; his brother-in-law, Alfred Hewitt; and his daughter-in-law, Charlotte McGee; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Welford McGee and sister, Lola Hewitt.

    There will be no prior visitation as Mr. McGee's body was donated to the Anatomical Gift Program at the University of Buffalo.

    Niagara River Lodge #785 will hold a Masonic Service at 2:00 PM on Sunday, January 2, 2011 that will be followed at 2:30 PM by a Celebration of Life Service at the United Baptist Christian Church, 4800 Creek Rd., Lewiston, NY, with the Rev. Bette Bond officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Dr., Lockport, NY 14094, or to United Baptist-Christian Church, 4800 Creek Rd., Lewiston, NY 14092.

    Jesse U. McGee, Jr., 97, passed away on Sunday, March 25, 2018 in Northgate Health Care Facility.  Born on September 19, 1920 in Newport News, VA, he was the son of the late Jesse and Josephine (Walley) McGee, Sr. On June 29, 1949, Jesse married the former Marilyn C. Knight in First Baptist Church in Niagara Falls.  She predeceased him on September 20, 2006.
    Mr. McGee attended schools in Virginia and came to Niagara Falls in 1949.  Jesse began his Military Service enlisting in the United States Army Air Force, during World War II, on May 28, 1941 and was released from active duty on September 2, 1945.  He then went on to serve in the Naval Air Reserves until his honorable discharge on October 3, 1953.
    Mr. McGee was employed at Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company and retired from Consolidated Packaging Company, where he worked as a draftsman.  Jesse was affiliated with First Baptist Church in Niagara Falls, where he sang in their choir, the Free & Accepted Masons and Scouts and served as a Volunteer Fireman for Cowlesville Volunteer Fire Company. He enjoyed reading and assisting others.
    Mr. McGee is survived by four sons, Donald (Christine) McGee, Raymond (Nedra) McGee, Brian McGee and Gordon (Pamela) McGee; ten grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.  In addition to his parents and wife, Jesse was predeceased by a daughter, Charlotte (Joe) McKenney and siblings, Lola, Carl and Welford.
    Visitation will be on Wednesday from 4-7 p.m. in the Chapel of OTTO REDANZ FUNERAL HOME, 2215 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY, where a funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 29th at 10:00 a.m.  Interment, concluding with Military Honors will follow in Acacia Park Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorial offerings may be made to First Baptist Church, 554 Main Street, Niagara Falls, NY 14301.

    Life story

    Linda (nee Hewitt) (Campbell) Mikolajek, 73, of North Tonawanda, NY, passed away on May 17, 2020.  Born on January 10, 1947 in Niagara Falls, NY, she was the daughter of the late Alfred L. and Lola M. (McGee) Hewitt.  

    Linda was a former teacher at Harry F. Abate Elementary School.  She then went on working for United States Investigation Services and also served as director of Early Childhood Development in Getzville of the JCC.

    Linda was a loving mother, wife, nana, sister, and friend, who was always smiling and ready to do anything for those around her, particularly the grandkids who she adored deeply.  As a schoolteacher she touched many lives and embodied the true spirit of what it takes to be a great teacher.  Even after retirement, when Linda was interviewing people and carrying a badge, she was making friends who could not resist her energy and spirit.  As a vibrant and fun person, her life with us was taken too soon, but the impact Linda had while here was profound and will be cherished.  Her memories live on with each of us.

    Linda is survived by her husband, Greg; children, Tara (Chuck) Sirianni and Ryan (Gail) Campbell; step-daughter, Lauren (Patrick) Holland; grandchildren, Adrianna, Joseph, Hewitt, Allie and Carter; siblings, Barbara (Peter) Baker and Bonnie (Jim) Sands. 
    In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a sister, Marjorie (Larry) Minor.

    She was born in Niagara Falls, NY on June 28, 1948 to the late, Alfred and Lola Hewitt.   

    Marjorie (Midge) is survived by her husband of 41½ years, Larry D. of the home; son, Christopher (Bonnie) of Martinsville, VA; 2 step-daughters, Sara Chambers (Matt) of North Canton, OH and Stephanie Minor of Sugar Grove, IL; 3 sisters, Barbara Baker (Pete) of Ransomville, NY, Linda Mikolajek (Greg) of N. Tonawanda, NY, and Bonnie Sands (Jim) of Charlotte, NC; 2 grandchildren, several step-grandchildren; great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and cousins, whom she loved dearly.   

    Prior to her retirement and death Midge was employed as a legal secretary at Cranfill Sumner and Hartzog. Midge will be missed by her extended family and friends. She loved traveling and spending time outdoors and at home tending to her domestic and wildlife pets. 

    In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the UNC SECU, Jim and Betsy Bryan hospice home in Pittsboro NC, Duke Cancer Center Durham, NC, or St Baldrick Foundation.
