    NORTH TONAWANDA — Marion Z. Gau (nee Ziehl), age 84, of North Tonawanda, December 6, 2010 at the Newfane Rehabilitation & Health Care Center, after a long illness. Marion was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Education from State Teachers College at Fredonia. She worked in the Tonawanda and North Tonawanda Public School System as a Music teacher. For 25 years, she was the Head Usher at the former Melody Fair. As an accomplished violinist, she played with the Niagara County Community College Orchestra and her church. Marion was active in the community working for the DeGraff Memorial Hospital Auxiliary; an 80 year member of Post 264 American Legion Auxiliary and involved with the Parent Teachers Association at Gilmore School. Marion was an avid bridge player and teacher. Marion and her family enjoyed the family cottage in Silver Bay, Ontario. She and her husband, the late Edwin A. Gau, owned and operated Gau Printing.

    Beloved mother of Gail Gau of Lewiston, Gary (Cheryl) Gau of Howard Lake, MN, Glen (Lissa) Gau of North Tonawanda, Gloria Gau of North Tonawanda, and Gordon Gau of Wheatfield. Grandmother of Gillian and Rachel Gau.

    Friends received by the family on Wednesday 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the Brunner Funeral Home (692-3841), 156 Robinson St., North Tonawanda, where services will be held on Thursday morning at 10:00 AM. The Rev. A.W. Moldenhauer officiating. Interment will be private.

    PRINTGail Marie Gau, DC, on January 15, 2022 after a long illness. Daughter of the late Edward and Marion (nee Ziehl) Gau. Sister of Gary Gau of Howard Lake, MN, Gloria L. Gau of North Tonawanda, Gordon Gau of Tennessee and the late Glen Gau. Also survived by 2 nieces and two great nephews and one great niece.
    Gail was a 1971 graduate of North Tonawanda St. High School. She graduated from Logan Chiropractic in St. Louis in 1986. She was a caring professional who sought to help people from their pain. Her love in life was caring for her dogs and her home in Lewiston.

    There is no prior visitation.

    Memorials may be made to the ASPCA of Niagara County.

Lifelong resident of North Tonawanda, May 28, 2015, dear husband of Elizabeth (Lissa) Amabile; brother of Dr. Gail, Gary (Cheryl), Gloria and Gordon Gau; uncle of Gillian (Joe) Rickart and Rachel Gau; predeceased by parents Edwin and Marion Gau. Glen was co-owner of Shawnee C.C. in Wheatfield, NY since 1986. He was a longtime member of the Third Warder's Social Club in North Tonawanda. He will be missed by his many golfing, fishing, and hunting buddies who knew him as "Goo." His favorite hobby was restoring his canary yellow 1970 convertible mustang. Glen donated his body to the University of Buffalo Anatomical Gift Program, a testament to his generosity and eagerness to help find a cure for cancer. A party will be held in his honor in October 2015.
