    Donald E. Schul, lifelong resident of Town of Niagara, born September 16, 1932, passed away at Mt. St. Mary's Hospital, due to complications following surgery, on Friday, November 27, 2009. He was the son of the late Ernest and Marguerite (Heintz) Schul. After serving in the United States Army in Germany, Don received an honorable discharge. He retired from Harrison Radiator after more than 30 years of employment. Don faithfully attended Colonial Village Presbyterian Church and was an active exempt member of Niagara #1 Fire Company. Don was also a member of various organizations throughout Niagara County, enjoyed being with his friends at the Duke Senior Citizens Center and keeping his birds well-fed. Don was well-known throughout the community as a helper and servant to anyone who needed assistance, searching for opportunities to help those in need. In this spirit of giving, even in death, Don chose to donate his body to the University of Buffalo Medical School. Surviving are his two sons, Jonathan (Sherrie) Schul, Kevin (Tammy) Schul; four grandsons; four granddaughters; a sister, MaryLou (Don) Hahn; a nephew, Jeff Cicio of Florida; a niece, Charlene (Art) Sauer and a great-niece and nephew. Friends and family are invited to attend a celebration of life memorial service on Sunday, December 20th at 2:30 PM at Colonial Village Presbyterian Church, 4813 Kline Rd., Niagara Falls, NY 14304, where memorial contributions may also me made.Visit www.legacy.com/niagara-gazette for online guest register.

    LEWISTON — Mary Lou (nee Schul) Hahn, 77, of Lewiston, NY, entered into rest on Saturday, December 4, 2010 in Mt. St. Mary's Hospital in Lewiston, NY, following a brief illness. Born on October 3, 1933 in Niagara Falls, NY, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Marguerite (Heinz) Schul.

    Mrs. Hahn attended local schools and graduated from Niagara Falls High School in 1951. Mary Lou worked as a secretary for E.I. DuPont, Hooker Chemical and Mt. St. Mary's Hospital. She retired in 1989. On April 8, 1989, Mrs. Hahn married Donald F. Hahn. Mary Lou was a lifelong member of Niagara Presbyterian Church in the Town of Niagara, NY. She enjoyed volunteering her time, bowling and singing. Above all, Mrs. Hahn loved spending time with her grandchildren.

    In addition to her beloved husband of twenty-one years, Mrs. Hahn is survived by two children, Jeff Cicio of Largo, FL and Charlene (Art) Sauer of the Town of Niagara, NY; four step-children, Gary (Nancy) Hahn of Virginia, Richard (Karen) Hahn of Kentucky, Rob (Sandy) Hahn of Indiana and Diane (Craig) McKenzie of Virginia; two grandchildren, Halle and Austin Sauer; eight step-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; two nephews, Jonathan and Kevin Schul and many cousins. In addition to her parents, Mary Lou was predeceased by two former husbands, George Etherton and Howard Cicio; and one brother, Donald Schul.

    Friends may call on Monday from 4-8 PM at the OTTO REDANZ FUNERAL HOME, 2215 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY (297-9007). Family and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Service on Tuesday, December 7th at 11:00 AM in Niagara Presbyterian Church, 3712 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY, with Rev. Justin Marple officiating. EVERYONE PLEASE ASSEMBLE AT CHURCH. Interment will follow in Niagara Falls Memorial Park Cemetery, in Lewiston, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorial offerings may be made to Niagara Presbyterian Church, 3712 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY 14305.
