    WILSON - Funeral services will be conducted Monday for Walter Seefeldt, 74, Townline Road, this community, who died Friday (May 21, 1965) at the Sunbury Community Hospital, Sunbury, Pa. He had been in ill health for several years. Mr. Seefeldt was born Oct. 8, 1890, the son of Bernard and Sophia Doberteen Seefeldt. Services will be conducted by the Rev. Philip Schaal, minister of the North Ridge Methodist Church, at 2 p.m. at the Hardison Funeral Home, Ransomville. Burial will be in North Ridge Cemetery. Mr. Seefeldt was born in the Town of Cambria and lived in the Town of Wilson for 35 years. He was & farmer most of his life. He is survived by his wife, Mildred Ferris Seefeldt; three sons, Ervin Seefeldt, North Ridge, Douglas and Russell Seefeldt, both of this community; three daughters, Mrs. Clarence Vonberg, Niagara Falls, Mrs. Harry Wilson, Sunbury, Pa., and Mrs. Lawrence Leggett, Ransomville; two brothers, George Seefeldt, Ransomville, and Charles Seefeldt, Buffalo; 13 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday. Another brother, Elmer, died about 20 years ago and a sister, Mrs. Fred (Edith) Schultz, died about two weeks ago. Both were Wilson residents.

    TOWN OF WILSON — Dorothy M. Schultz, age 100, a lifelong resident of the Town of Wilson, died on Wednesday, September 5, 2012 in the Briody Health Care Facility in Lockport, after a lengthy illness. Dorothy was born on October 21, 1911 in the Town of Wilson, NY, the daughter, of the late Fred and Edith (Seefeldt) Schultz. She married Elwood R. Schultz on November 23, 1929. He predeceased her on March 28, 1999. Dorothy was the first woman to take her family's farm produce to the Buffalo market. During WW II, she drove bus for employees of the TNT (Lake Ontario Ordinance Works). She and her late husband operated Dorwood Park in Ransomville from 1958 to 2003.

    She was a member of St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church at North Ridge, a member of its Ladies Aid Society, and taught Sunday school there as well. She was also a member of the Newfane Senior Citizens and traveled extensively with them, and was a 60-year member of the Wilson Volunteer Fire Co. Ladies Auxiliary. Dorothy spent winters in Bradenton, FL, for several years and enjoyed playing cards and dancing.

    She is survived by two daughters, Marlene (Kenneth) Taylor of Olcott and Maxine "Mickey" (Jack) Schultz of Youngstown; her grandchildren, Cynthia Taylor, Brenda (Salvatore) LiPuma, Linda (Max) Hogenes, and Lisa (Warren) Hastings; her great grandchildren, Ashley and Amanda Hogenes, Christiano, Lisa Camille, and Lorna LiPuma, Alison and Benjamin Hastings; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by four sisters, Gladys Keicher, Ethel Strassburg, Ruth Wickham, and Eleanor Clark; a brother, Leo Schultz; and a grandson, Robert Taylor.

    Friends may call at HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, 3648 Ransomville Road, Ransomville on Friday from 5-8 PM. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 8th at 11:00 AM in St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church at North Ridge, 4169 Church Rd. Town of Cambria, with the Rev. Robert Hoffman officiating. Burial will follow in St. Peter's Lutheran Church Cemetery.     Ethel L. Strassburg, a former school bus driver from Dorwood Park, died Sunday (March 21, 2004) in Newfane Intercommunity Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. She was 87.
    Born in Wilson, she lived her entire life in the area and was a 1935 graduate of Wilson High School.
    She and her husband worked on the family farm, selling their produce at Buffalo's Clinton-Bailey market. She also worked as a school bus driver for Ransomville Bus Lines for 14 years, retiring in 1981.
    Mrs. Strassburg was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church at North Ridge and its Ladies Aid Society.
    She married William A. Strassburg in 1938. He died in 1996.
    Survivors include two sons, Robert F. of Ashland, Ky., and Timothy K. of Wilson; a daughter, Karen J. Carr of Oswego; three sisters, Dorothy Schultz and Ruth Wickham, both of Ransomville, and Gladys Keicher of Cowlesville; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
    Services were held today in St. Peter's Lutheran Church at North Ridge, Cambria. Burial was in St. Peter's Lutheran Church Cemetery.

    OCALA, FL — Bernard (Barney) S. Seefeldt, 86, of Ocala, FL, died Tuesday, January 11, 2011. Born in Wilson, NY on August 2, 1924 to George and Ida Seefeldt, Barney lived most of his life in the Ransomville, NY area. He was a WWII Veteran serving in the U.S. Navy Armed Guard from 1943 to 1945. During this time he was a Gunners Mate on the SS Rufus W. Peckham, where he was injured during battle for which he was awarded the Purple Heart and the Victory Medal.

    Barney worked as a carpenter in his early years for NU-Trend Homes. He was well-known throughout the Ransomville area as a "Master" carpenter and worked on many homes in the area. He became a fireman and worked early on at the fire station at Fort Niagara before it became a State Park. Later he was a fireman for the Bell Aerosystems Co. in Wheatfield, NY. He was also the Town of Porter Building Inspector for 25 years, retiring in 1990.

    Barney was a lifetime member of the VFW Post 4781 in Ocala, FL. He also served as past Commander of the VFW Lake Ontario Post 313 in Youngstown, NY. He enjoyed many years vacationing in Canada on Lake Mississagagon where he owned two cottages, one of which he built. He also enjoyed many years at his hunting camp in Little Valley, NY, where he enjoyed many years with family and friends. His hobbies included fishing, hunting and woodworking. He spent the last several years of his life being a caregiver for his beloved wife, Dorothy, who greatly appreciated his care and love.

    Barney was married to Dorothy R. Oliphant for 65 years, who died on September 22, 2010. He is survived by his sons, David (Lynne) Seefeldt of Ocala, FL, Bruce Seefeldt of Niagara Falls, NY, Thomas (Sandra) Seefeldt of Sanborn, NY, Peter (Lettie) Seefeldt of Ransomville, NY and daughter, Jane (Thomas) Stevens of Ashville, OH; along with 16 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren; his brother, Ralph (Nellann) Seefeldt and several nieces, nephews, special in-laws and friends. He was predeceased by brothers, Roger, Clinton and sister, Helen Mann.

    Services to be held Thursday, January 20 at 11:00 AM at Hiers-Baxley TimberRidge Chapel, 9695 SW 110th St., Ocala, FL; immediately following will be a Military Service with honors at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the VFW Lake Ontario Post 313, 434-3rd Street, Youngstown, NY 14174.
