    Chester Nowicki, 54, of 2783
    Monroe Ave., died at Mt. St
    Mary's Hospital yesterday after a
    short illness.
    Mr. Nowicki
    was a driver in
    the transportation
    department ^
    of the Pittsburgh
    Metallurgical
    Co. A native
    of this city,
    he attended local
    schools.- In
    World War II
    he was in the
    New Guinea,
    Southern Philippines and Luzon
    campaigns during his four years
    service.
    Mr. Nowicki was a member of

    the Echo Society.
    Surviving are his wife, the former
    Stella Szczes; three sisters,
    Mrs. Mary Szlichcinski and Mrs.
    Frances Adydan, this city, and
    Mrs. Helen May, Buffalo, and
    three brothers, Andrew, John and
    Walter Nowicki, this city.
    Services will be held at St.
    Stanislaus Kostka Church Tuesday
    at 10 o'clock, after a service at the
    Labuda Funeral Home at 9:30
    o'clock. Interment will be in Gate
    of Heaven Cemetery.
