TOWN OF NIAGARA — Donna Jeanne (Boyd) Wade, 78, of the Town of Niagara, NY, entered into rest on Wednesday, November 9, 2011 at her residence, surrounded by her loving family, while under the care of Niagara Hospice. Born on June 2, 1933 in Pittsburgh, PA, she was the daughter of the late John and Esther (Shaffer) Boyd, Sr.



Mrs. Wade attended schools in both Pennsylvania and Niagara Falls, NY. Donna graduated from Niagara Falls High School. On June 6, 1953, she married Robert E. Wade, Sr. in Niagara Falls, NY. For twenty years, Mrs. Wade worked as a secretary for Airco Carbon Corporation, until her retirement in the early 1990's. Donna was a member of St. Stephen's Episcopal Church in Niagara Falls, NY. She enjoyed crocheting, bowling and paint by number. Above all, Mrs. Wade loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.



In addition to her beloved husband of 58 years, Mrs. Wade is survived by four children, Joyce E. (Tony) Rotella of Rochester, NY, Rick (Jan) Wade of the Town of Niagara, NY, Theresa A. Wade of the Town of Niagara, NY and Robert E. (Karen) Wade, Jr. of Lewiston, NY; eight grandchildren, Maryjoyce (Tom DiPaola) Rotella of Pennsylvania, Virgil Rotella of Rochester, NY, Sarah Bowen of the Town of Niagara, NY, Glen Bowen of the Town of Niagara, NY, Donna Bowen of the Town of Niagara, NY, Jason R. Wade of Niagara Falls, NY, Amber Wade of Lewiston, NY and Alexis Wade of Lewiston, NY; and one great-granddaughter, Jordynn Wade. Donna is also survived by one sister, Joanne (Bob) Johnson of Niagara Falls, NY; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by two brothers and two sisters, John (Jerry of Grand Island, NY) Boyd, Jr., Rosemary (late Paul) Schul, Sandra (Bruno of Grand Island, NY) Moretti and David Boyd.



The family will be present to receive friends on Saturday, November 12th from 3-7 PM in the Chapel of the OTTO REDANZ FUNERAL HOME, 2215 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY (297-9007). Family and friends are invited to attend a funeral service on Wednesday, November 16th at 11:00 AM in St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, 616 Cayuga Drive, Niagara Falls, NY. EVERYONE PLEASE ASSEMBLE AT CHURCH. Burial will follow in Acacia Park Cemetery, North Tonawanda, NY. Joanne (nee Boyd) Johnson, 77, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed from this life on Friday, May 10, 2013 in Niagara Hospice House in Lockport, NY, while surrounded by her loving family. Born on September 9, 1935 in Springdale, PA, she was the daughter of the late John L. and Esther (Schafer) Boyd, Sr.
Mrs. Johnson came to the Niagara Falls area as a child with her family and attended local schools. On September 19, 1964, Joanne married Robert J. Johnson in Prince of Peace Church. Throughout her life, she was primarily a home maker. Mrs. Johnson was a member of St. John de LaSalle Roman Catholic Church. Joanne loved taking care of her family, which was the most important aspect of her life. She also enjoyed reading, cooking and politics.
In addition to her beloved husband of forty-eight years, Mrs. Johnson is survived by six daughters, Linda (David) D'Angelo of Wheatfield, NY, Cheryl (Gerard) Kline of Amherst, NY, Diane Fegatilli of Grand Island, NY, Darlene Fegatilli of Wheatfield, NY, Barbara (James) Dotts of Niagara Falls, NY and Mary Elizabeth (David) Ungaro of Grand Island, NY and was predeceased by an infant son, Robert Joseph Johnson, Jr. Joanne is also survived by nine grandchildren, Mark (Stefanie) D'Angelo, Nicholas (Carla) D'Angelo, Kevin Kline, James Kline, Thomas Kline, Matthew Dotts, Jessica Ungaro, Joshua Ungaro and Anna Ungaro; three great-grandchildren, Lauren and Maya D'Angelo and Alexander Dehn-Kline; her lifelong friend, Anita Nart of Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. In addition to her parents and infant son, she was predeceased by her first husband, Victor Fegatilli, who passed away in March of 1960; and five siblings, John L. (late Geraldine "Jerry") Boyd, Jr., Rosemary (late Paul) Schul, Donna (Robert of the Town of Niagara, NY) Wade, Sandra (Bruno of Grand Island, NY) Moretti and David (Barbara of Massachusetts) Boyd.

Search efforts continued today for the bodies of two men
who were swept over the Canadian side of the Horseshoe
Falls Saturday night after their outboard motorboat
apparently became disabled in the upper Niagara River.
The men, both presumed dead, have been tentatively
identified as David A. Boyd, 29, of 4714 Pomeroy Ave.,
Town of Niagara, and Donald Walker, 19, of 327 10th St..

Niagara Frontier State Parks Police, members of the
U.S. Coast Guard, station at Youngstown, and Canadian
authorities were searching the whirlpool area below the
falls today for signs of the two men. Parts of the 16-foot
fibreglass boat and some of its equipment have been
recovered.
Hundreds of spectators on both the Canadian and
American shores watched helplessly as the boat capsized
and plunged over the 176-foot falls at about 7:30 p.m.
Several witnesses said the boat appeared to have lost
power in the upper rapids as the occupants tried
unsuccessfully to steer the craft away from the brink of
the precipice.
After the boat capsized, one of the two men reportedly
clung to the craft as it went over the falls. The second
man, seen wearing a lifejacket, reportedly tried to swim
against the strong current, but was also swept over the
falls.
After the incident, Canadian and American authorities
launched a check of area marinas and other launching
sites seeking clues to the victims' identities.
Boyd's car and an empty boat trailer were found at the
City of Niagara Falls boat ramp on Cayuga Island.
Niagara Falls Police Detective Lt. James Gray said
parts of the wrecked boat have been identified by Boyd's
wife.
Friends of Donald Walker said the youth, who was
employed as a mechanic at Bahama Marina, 2109 Military
Road, Niagara Falls, had been working on Boyd's boat and
believe the two men may have decided to take the craft for
a test run.
Witnesses reported the boat's motor was running
intermittently before the accident. Police speculate the
rapids might have been too much for the small motor to
handle.
An earlier report that the craft might have run out of gas
was discounted after police on the Canadian side of the
Niagara River recovered two full cans of gasoline,
presumably from the wrecked boat.

Richard L. "Rick" Wade, 60, of Wheatfield, NY, passed from this life on Wednesday, January 6, 2016, from injuries sustained in an industrial accident. Born on June 17, 1955 in Niagara Falls, NY, he was the son of Robert E. Wade, Sr. of the Town of Niagara, NY and the late Donna Jeanne (Boyd) Wade.

Rick was a lifelong resident of the Niagara Falls area. He attended local schools and graduated from the former LaSalle High School in 1974. Rick was the owner and operator of the former Rick's Mr. Pizzeria in Niagara Falls, NY and was also employed by Carborundum. Most recently, he worked for Tonawanda Coke Corporation, where he was affectionately known by his co-workers as "Shorty". Rick was an avid Dallas Cowboys and New York Yankees fan.

In addition to his father, Rick is survived by two sisters, Joyce E. (Tony) Rotella and Theresa A. Wade; one brother, Robert E. (Karen) Wade, Jr.; nieces and nephews, Maryjoyce, Virg, Sarah, Glen, Donna, Jason, Amber and Alexis; seven great-nieces and nephews and several aunts, uncles and cousins. He is also survived by his former spouse, Renee (Balassone) Wade; his longtime companion, Jan Lemon; three step-children, Lisa (Nick) Lane, Yavonne (Donald) Packey and Steven (Valerie) Grabowski; four step-grandchildren, Shane, Derek, Steven and Shanna and his furry baby, Cody.

life from complications with surgery, while surrounded by his loving family.
Born on January 21, 1967 in Lewiston, NY, he was the son of Robert E. Wade,
Sr. of the Town of Niagara and the late Donna Jeanne (Boyd) Wade. On May
14, 1994, he married the former Karen L. Woika.

In addition to his father and wife of over twenty-two years, Rob leaves
behind his children, Jason, Amber and Alexis Wade; one grandchild, Jordynn
Wade; two sisters, Joyce E. (Tony) Rotella and Theresa A. Wade;
sister-in-laws, Sue (Jack) Braham and Bernadette Ford; his furry daughter,
Sasha and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great-nieces,
great-nephews, cousins and friends. In addition to his mother, Rob was
predeceased by his brother, Richard L. "Rick" Wade.

Rob graduated from LaSalle High School in 1985 and also attended Niagara
County Community College. For over 27 years, he was employed as a
Mechanical Assembler for Edwards Vacuum, where he worked until his passing.
Rob was an avid Washington Redskins fan and bowler. In 2005, he bowled a
perfect game (300).

Visitation will be on Friday, June 3rd from 4-8 p.m. in the Chapel of OTTO
REDANZ FUNERAL HOME in the Town of Niagara, where a funeral service will
