  1. 1.  DAVIDSON, George Carl was born on 8 Aug 1931 in Niagara Falls, Niagara County, NY; died on 14 May 2019 in Niagara Falls, Niagara County, NY.

    Notes:

George C. Davidson, age 87, passed away on May 14, 2019 at his residence under the care of Hospice of Buffalo.  Born on August 8, 1931 in Niagara Falls, NY, he was the son of the late Alfred and Edna (Porter) Davidson.
George served in the U.S. Navy upon graduation from Niagara Falls High School, eventually returning home to live in Western New York for the remainder of his life.  He was employed as a pipe fitter, first at DuPont, then at General Motors, retiring from the later in June of 1991.  He was an amazing baseball player, jack of all trades, had a love of animals and was simply an all-around great guy.  He especially enjoyed his time with friends at the mall, right up until he was physically unable to make the trip.  And, when he was no longer able to go to the mall, his best friend Phil came to him, for which he was deeply grateful.
George is survived by his children, Paul (Lenore) Davidson, Ruth (David) Meyers, and Glen (Kimberly) Davidson; step children Mark Dunn and Tracy (Kevin) Kensinger; his grandchildren, Lauren, Terri (Michael), Kyle, Reilly, Andrew, Marian, and Lizzy; great-grandchildren, Tyler, Blake, Michael, Austin and Paige; his sister, Barbara Davidson Lanich; several nieces, nephews and step grandchildren, and his beloved cat, Willy.  Last, but definitely not least, George is survived by his companion, Alice Martin, her daughter, Linda (Pat) Olson, and her granddaughters Maegan (Mathew) Humel and Jessica Grant who welcomed him into their family for the past decade and took great care of him in his final days.  In addition to his parents, George was predeceased by his wife, Nancy and stepson, Ian.
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Hospice of Buffalo for the comfort and care given to George.
By George’s wishes, cremation has already taken place.  A Celebration of Life for all those who wish to attend will be held on Monday, May 20 at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY 14304 from 9 – 11 A.M. with services at 11 A.M. officiated by George’s son, Rev. Glen Davidson.  Please come prepared to share your favorite “George stories” – we know there are a ton!
