    WHEATFIELD - Josephine A. Moll, formerly of Errick Road, Wheatfield, died Tuesday in DeGraff Memorial Hospital, North Tonawanda, after a long illness. She was 88.
    A North Tonawanda native, the former Josephine Pankow was a member of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, where she enjoyed attending Bible class. She was a member of the Wheatfield Senior Citizens, and her hobbies included knitting, crocheting and doll making.
    Mrs. Moll worked in the cafeteria of Niagara County Community College. She moved to Northgate Health Care Facility in October 2002.
    She was the widow of Howard J.
    Survivors include a daughter, Karen Petro of Millersville, MD.; a brother, Harold Pankow of Wheatfield; and two sisters, Lorena Heuer of Port Orange, Fla., and Jane Heuer of Wheatfield.
    A funeral will be held at 10:30 A.M. Friday in St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Niagara Falls Boulevard and Ward Road. Burial will be in St. John Lutheran Cemetery.

    Wallace A. Pankow, 78, a retired industrial foreman, died Wednesday (Oct. 15, 1997) in his home on Washington Street.
    A native of Wheatfield, Pankow served in the Army during World War II. He was employed in the Bonded and Abrasives divisions of Carborundum Co. for 43 years until he retired as a foreman.
    He was a lifelong member of St. John Lutheran Church, where he had served as an elder. He also was an active volunteer with Tri-Community Ambulance Service and enjoyed gardening and cooking.
    His wife, Dorothy Cheatwood Pankow, died in 1996.
    Survivors include three sisters, Lorriane Heuer of Florida and Jane Heuer and Josephine Moll, both of Wheatfield; a brother, Harold of Wheatfield; a granddaughter; and a great-grandson.
    Services will be held at 10 A.M. Saturday in St. John Lutheran Church, Niagara Falls Boulevard and Ward Road, Wheatfield.

    WHEATFIELD - Harold E. Pankow, a longtime member of St. Johnsburg Fire Company, died Saturday in DeGraff Memorial Hospital, North Tonawanda, after a brief illness. He died a day before his 83rd birthday.
    Mr. Pankow was born in North Tonawanda and was a lifelong member of St. John Evangelical Church. He attended parochial school.
    He worked at National Grinding Wheel, Walck's Dairy and the state Department of Transportation, retiring in 1985.
    Mr. Pankow had been a fire company member for 50 years. He enjoyed doing crafts and spending his winters in Florida.
    He is survived by his wife of 59 years, the former Jennis A. Walck; a daughter, Betty Cash-Willis of Fort Myers, Fla.; a son, Robin of Rome; two sisters, Lorena Heuer of Port Orange, Fla., and Jane Heuer of Wheatfield; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
    Services will be at 10:30 A.M. today in St. John Evangelical Church, Niagara Falls Boulevard and Ward Road. Burial will be in St. John Lutheran Cemetery

    WHEATFIELD — Jane E. Heuer (Pankow), age 84, of Wheatfield, was called, peacefully, to her heavenly home on April 18, 2011, at her residence. Born in the Town of Wheatfield, NY on January 31, 1926 to the late William and Charlotte (McGill) Pankow. She was a 1944 graduate of North Tonawanda High School, a lifelong member of St. John Ev. Lutheran Church in Wheatfield, was a loving and devoted mother, and enjoyed cooking.

    Survivors include four children, Curtis (Jeanne) Heuer, Mary (Henry) Striewing, Mark (Minerva) Heuer and Steven (Ann) Heuer; five grandchildren, Nathan Heuer, Michael and Matthew Striewing, Virginia Kahmann and Jonathan Heuer; a great-granddaughter, Briahnna Lynn and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her husband, Harold H. Heuer on August 29, 2010; four brothers, George, Vernon, Wallace and Harold Pankow; and two sisters, Josephine Moll and Lorena Heuer.

    Friends are invited to attend a memorial service, officiated by the Rev. Ronald Oravec, on Thursday at 4:00 PM in St. John Ev. Lutheran Church, corner Niagara Falls Blvd. and Ward Road. There will be no prior visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the church. Arrangements were by the DUBOIS FUNERAL HOME.

    George W. Pankow Jr., operator of the former Pumpkin Village on Nash Road, died Thursday in Kenmore Mercy Hospital after a long illness. He was 64.
    Mr. Pankow was born in North Tonawanda and graduated from North Tonawanda High School.
    He worked at Ashland Oil Co. and the Chevrolet engine plant in the Town of Tonawanda, but his hobby was growing pumpkins.
    Mr. Pankow's father founded Pumpkin Village, a seasonal attraction every fall, on Niagara Falls Boulevard. After his father died in 1981, Mr. Pankow moved it to Nash Road, where it continued into the 1990s.
    In the early 1980s, Mr. Pankow and his father also operated the first hydroponic greenhouse to grow tomatoes in Niagara County.
    Survivors include his wife of 43 years, the former Katherine J. Vossen; a son, Michael S. of Virginia Beach, Va.; two daughters, Patricia Snider of Chicago and Mary Childs of Orlando, Fla.; a sister, Alice Licht of Wheatfield; and five grandchildren.
    Services will be held at 10 A.M. Monday in St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Niagara Falls Boulevard and Ward Road.

    7 Year Old Dies of Asphyxia
    Linda Pankow, 7, of Ward Rd Town of Wheatfield, died yesterday morning at DeGraff Memorial Hospital of asphyxia due to and acute case of bronchitis. The cause of death wass determined after a post mortem, according to Dr. G. Norris Miner, North Tonawanda Health Officer. Linda was rushed to the hospital by her father, Harold Pankow after he found her stricken in her room. Deputy Sheriffs escorted him to the hospital. Linda's mother Mrs. Jenice Pankow, 30, suffered a fractured ankle, when she fell on a flight of stairs when she hurried to a phone for a doctor. In addition to her parents, Linda is survived by a sister Betty, a brother Robin, and her grandparents Mr. and Mrs. William Pankow, and Mr. and Mrs. Felix Walck. Funeral services will be at 2:30 pm Friday at Fretthold Funeral Home, 1241 Oliver St. the Rev Walter J. Thiemecke officiating. Burial will be in St John's Lutheran Cemetery.
