    NEWFANE. Mar. 29.-Funeral ser-
    vices for Massey Wiseman, age
    were held from his late home Mechanic
    street. Sunday. afternoon at 3 o'clock
    the Rev. F. L. Harburn, pastor of the
    Methodist Episcopal church officiat-
    ing.
    Mr. Wiseman was born in England
    but came to America when young.
    Most of his life was spent in Herkimer
    and Niagara Counties. He moved to
    Newfane in 1906. He was one of the
    oldest masons and also Old Fellows
    in the county. At the time of his
    sickness he was tiler in the former and
    chaplain in the latter. Following the
    services on Sunday his body was taken
    to Salisbury Center for further ser-
    vices and burial today. His wife,
    Mrs. Gustine Krupp Wiseman, and
    three daughters, Miss Minnie Wiseman
    of Newfane, Mrs. William Grassel of
    Salisbury Center and Mrs. Charles
    Faussen of Albany survive. Many lov-
    ely and hympathy fro organizations
    and friends.

    NEWFANE-Funeral services for
    Charles Wiseman, 87, were held Saturday
    afternoon at the home of his
    daughter, Mrs. James Robinson, 600
    West avenue, Lockport, with his
    nephew, the Rev. Boyd Little, of
    Montour Falls, officiating. Mr:
    Wiseman was a resident of the
    Town of Newfane most of his life,
    going to Lockport to live with his

    daughter about four years ago. He
    was a farmer until ill health caused
    his retirement.
    Mr. Wiseman is survived by four
    sons and two daughters, William, of
    Hatter road, Newfane; John, of St.
    Petersburg, Fla.; Eugene, of Ide
    road, Newfane; Lee. of Iona. Mich.;
    Mrs. Robinson and Mrs. Thomas
    Devereaux, of Appleton; also 12
    grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren
    and two sisters, Mrs. Josephine
    Mills, of Main street. Newfane,
    and Mrs. Minnie Allen, of
    Montour Falls.
    Internment was m Corwln cemetery,
    Newfane.

    NEWFANE. Aug. 26-Mrs. Jose-
    phlne Mills, 84. died at her home
    here on Saturday after a brief ill-
    ness. Mrs. Mills is survived by one
    son, Ray Hooter, and two grandsons,
    Lawrence and Alvin Hooter, all of
    West street, Sanborn. Mrs. Mills
    was the widow of Thomas Mills and
    a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs.
    John Wiseman. She was born in
    the family home in the Saunders
    Settlement road, two miles east of
    Sanborn. Several nieces and nephews
    also survive. Mrs. Mills had always
    lived in Sanborn and vicinity until
    a few years ago when she came to
    make her home here.
    The funeral services will be held
    tomorrow afternoon at 2:30 o'clock
    at the home of the son at Sanborn.
    The Rev. Frank N. Taft, of the
    Sanborn Baptist church will offici-
    ate assisted by the Rev. Ernest H.
    Hammond, of the Methodist church.
    Interment will be in the family plot
    at Mountain View cemetery at
    Pekin.

    Wednesday in Herkimer Memorial
    Hospital. Before entering
    the hospital Dec. 31, 1970, she
    had resided at the Middleville
    Rest Home.
    Miss Wiseman was born in
    Onondaga County. In 1897, she
    moved to Newfane where she
    was employed at the Lockport
    Felt Co. She moved to Salisbury
    Center in 1951.
    Miss Wiseman was a member
    of the United Methodist Church
    of Salisbury Center and a
    charter member of the church's
    WSCS. She was a former member
    of the OES and the DAR of
    Newfane.
    She leaves a sister, Mrs. Flora
    Grassel of Salisbury Center and
    a step-sister, Mrs. Jessie Wiseman
    of Lockport.
    The funeral will be at 2 Saturday
    from the Kenneth M. Drier
    Funeral Home, Dolgeville, with
    burial in Salisbury Center Rural
    Cemetery this spring.
    Calling hours are Friday
    afternoon and evening and Saturday
    until time of services.

    NEWFANE, April 19
    -William
    Edwin Wiseman, one of Newfane's
    older residents, died Saturday night
    at Lockport City Hospital where he
    had been a patient for two weeks.
    Mr. Wiseman was born Feb. 20,
    1877. at Pekin, son of the late
    Charles and .Mary Brown Wiseman,
    with whom he came to the Town of
    Newfane 75 years ago.
    He owned and operated a farm
    in the Hatter road for the last 36
    years. He specialized in turkey
    raising. On Dec. 1, 1897, he was
    married to Miss Marian Grechman.
    He was a charter member of
    Newfane Grange, a member of the
    Farm Bureau for 35 years and a
    member of the Newfane Methodist
    Church.
    Besides his wife, he is survived
    by two daughters, Mrs, Arnold
    Ferris, Lockport, Mrs. Reuel Mooney,
    Kenmore: two granddaughters;
    two sisters and three brothers, Mrs.
    Thomas Devcreaux, Appleton: Mrs.
    James Robinson, Burt; Eugene
    Wiseman, Newfane; John Wiseman,
    St. Petersburg, Fla., and Lee Wiseman,
    Ionia, Mich.
    Services will be held at the family
    home, Hatter Rd., tomorrow at
    2:30 p.m.. with the Rev. Robert
    Ismay, pastor of the Methodist
    Church, officiating. Burial will be

    in Mount St. Mary's Hospital.

    A 65-year-old employe of
    the Walter S. Johnson Building
    Co. Inc. was killed late
    Monday afternoon
    when he
    fell f r o m a
    crane carried
    atop a slow-
    .moving flatbed
    trailer in Buffalo
    Avenue.
    Dead is Ben-
    jamin C. Wise-
    man of 2517
    Seneca Ave.
    The accident
    occurred about
    4:45 p.m. in front of 7906
    Buffalo Ave., according to po-
    lice. Mr. Wiseman died an
    hour later in Memorial Hos-
    pital. Hospital officials said
    he suffered head injuries.
    Lt. Michael Mianakian and
    Traffic Officer Martin Aloian.
    reported that Mr. Wiseman
    was attempting to climb down
    a ladder leading from the
    crane cab when he fell.
    Crane Being Moved
    The crane, topped by a 60-
    foot boom, was being moved
    to a construction site at 64th
    Street and Buffalo Avenue.
    Police said Mr. Wiseman
    was on the left side of the
    cab when he fell backward
    about 20 feet and hit the
    street.
    The trailer on which the
    crane sat is owned by the
    Falls Equipment Co., Hyde
    Park Boulevard and Seneca
    Avenue. Its driver was listed
    as J. T. Pace, 3208 Belden
    Place.
    Mr. Wiseman was pronounc-
    ed dead about 6 p.m.
    Police said the trailer was
    traveling about 20 miles an
    hour.
    Orders Autopsy
    Coroner Eugene Ingram
    withheld the issuance of a
    death certificate pending
    further investigation. He
    ordered an autopsy.
    Born in Model City, Mr.
    Wiseman was an employe of
    the Johnson Building co. for
    the last 15 years. He was a
    veteran of World War I with
    the U.S. Marine Corps.
    Surviving are his widow
    Mrs. Marion D. Wiseman, this
    city; a son, John Wiseman,
    Lewiston; a daughter, Mrs.
    Charles Wellner, Dunedin,
    Fla.; three brothers, Frank
    Wiseman, this city, Walter
    Wiseman, Model City, and
    Glenn Wiseman, Dunedin; a
    sister, Mrs. Walter S. John-
    son, Lewiston, and four grand-
    children.
    Funeral services will be held
    at the Cobler Funeral Home
    Thursday at 2 p.m. with Rev.
    Robert E. Backstrom officiating.
    Interment will be in North
    Ridge Cemetery.
    Friends may call from 2 to
    5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.
