NORTH TONAWANDA. Nov. 21 -
Albert H. Wolanske. 64, of 461 Ward
road, died last night after a long
illness! He was a lifelong resident
here. He leaves his wife, Mrs. Louise
Wolanske; six sons, Wilbert. Raymond.
Truman, George. Albert and
Walter, all of this city: two daughters,
Mrs. Albert Rappleyea. of this
city, and Mrs. Truman Lafleur, of
Tonawanda; 14 grandchildren and a
sister. Mrs. Robert Cramer, of this
city. The funeral will be held Wednesday
at 2 p.m. at the home and at
2:30 at St. Mark's church in Washington
street. Interment will be In
St. Matthew's cemetery.

records up to date at their
recent annual reunion in Mayor's
Park, North Tonawanda.
Wilbert Wolanske was the oldest
member present and monthold
Diana Gail, daughter of John
and Janet Nowicki of Buffalo,
was the youngest One marriage
was recorded during the year-
that of Donald Wolanske and Anita
Smith. Two births were recorded,
a son to Richard and
Sharon Hodge and a daughter to
John and Janet Nowicki, both of
Buffalo.
During the business session the
group elected Walter Wolanske,
president; Mrs. Kenneth Heim,
secretary - treasurer and Mrs.
Casey Cech and Laverne Ensminger
of Lockport, committee for
the 1965 reunion program.
The third annual reunion was
planned for June 1965 in Mayor's
Park.
Families brought basket picnic
fare for luncheon* and supper.
Games provided entertainment
for the 27 adults and 36 children
attending.

Mr. Wolanske, .65, owner of
Wilbert's Tavern, 2448 Niagara
Road, Town of Wheatfield, died
early Sunday (Feb. 11, 1968) in
Niagara -Falls Memorial Hospital.
He had suffered an apparent
stroke.
He was a lifelong resident of
the town and was employed as a
machinist for Buffalo Industries
before he operated the tavern'.
He was a charter member of
the St. Johnsburg Volunteer Fire
Co. and an exempt member of
the Bergholtz Volunteer Fire
Co.
Survivors include the former
Esther Schimschack: two sons.
Donald and Albert, both of the
Town of Wheatfleld: seven
grandchildren; two brothers.
Truman of Grand Island and
Waiter of North Tonawanda; a
sister, Mrs. Truman LaFleur of
North Tonawanda.

Mrs LaFleur owned and operated
with her husband, LaFleur's Delicatessen
on Tremont St., in North

Friday in Buffalo General Hos-
pital after a brief illness. He is
survived by his wife, Pearl

ry Albert. He was the brother of

Wolanske's Body Returns on Friday For Reburial Here
The body of Pfc. Albert Wolanske of 461 Ward Rd., killed in action in Holland, Nov. 17, 1944, will arrive at the North Tonawanda New York Central depot Friday morning for reburial. The train is due at 7:30. A squad from Tonawandas Post, American Legion, will escort the body to the Fretthold Funeral Home, 1241 Oliver St., where services will be held Sunday at 2 p. m. and in the St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church at 2:30 p. m. The Rev. Paul Fretthold will officiate and interment will be in St. Matthew's Cemetery. Tonawandas Post will confer military honors. Pfc. Wolanske was born in North Tonawanda July 4, 1914. He attended the St. Mark's Parochial School and the North Tonawanda High School. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Mary Wolanske Kehr; a daughter Patricia; five brothers Truman, Walter, Wilburt, George, and Raymond all of N. Tonawanda, and a sister, Lillian LaFleur, also of N. Tonawanda.

Betty Jane (nee Rappleyea) Cech, of Tonawanda, passed through this life and departed from us on Wednesday, September 3, 2014 at the age of 84. Betty was born in North Tonawanda and married her teenage sweetheart, the late Casimer Cech. Her joy in life was her family, followed closely by bingo, tending to her garden and throwing tea parties for her grandchild and great-grandchildren.

Loving and devoted mother of Kathie (William) Mogensen, David Cech and Dennis Cech, all of Tonawanda; proud grandmother of Jennifer Mogensen, Jason Mogensen, Cory Cech, Adam Cech and Nick Cech; great-grandmother to eight; survived by two sisters, Janet Nowicki and Maria Campbell.

A Mass followed by a reception will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, September 6th, 2014 for family and friends of Betty at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 107 Scott Street, Tonawanda.

WHEATFIELD - Donald W. Wolanske, who worked at a Niagara Falls manufacturing company, died Thursday at home after a lengthy illness. He was 61.
A Wheatfield native, he was a graduate of Niagara-Wheatfield High School.
Mr. Wolanske worked at Pyron Corp. in Niagara Falls for many years.
Survivors include his wife, the former Janet Strandt; two daughters, Donna Robertson and Nicole Youngs; two sons, Robert and Steven; and a sister, Lois Haseley.
Services will be held at 1 P.M. Tuesday in DuBois Funeral Home, 2436 Niagara Road, Bergholz.

NORTH TONAWANDA - One youth was killed and
two others were injured when they were struck by a hit-run
car while walking in Erie Ave. Saturday evening,
Raymond Wolanske Jr., 19. of
590 S. Wall St., was pronounced
dead on arrival at DeGraff Mem-
orial Hospital. Police said he died
almost instantly.
Thomas Dotterweich, 18, of 444;
Schenck St, was admitted to the
hospital with a broken leg. His
condition was reported good,
Richard Lea Zellner, 18, of 1005
Erie Ave., suffered bruises but de-
clined treatment at the hospital.

Niagara County deputy sheriffs
Sunday morning were interrogating
a Lockport man in connection
with the hit-run case. His car was
impounded pending determination
by deputies whether it was involved
in the fatal accident.
Police in 13 states were alerted
for the death car, described by hor-
ror-stricken eyewitnesses of the hitrun
accident as a dark blue Ford
with a broken headlight and Hollywood
mufflers. The car was described
as between five and eight
years old.
The youths were struck from
behind as they were walking east
near Erie and Walck Aves., police
said.
The hit-run vehicle continued
toward Niagara Falls Blvd. A few
minutes later Buffalo police
thought they had caught the driver.
But the suspect was released
after questioning, police said.
Paint May Be Clue
According to police, the three
were walking toward the Zellner
home, where they were repainting
an automobile, when the accident
occurred.
A can of paint carried by one
of the youths was sprung open by
the impact and smeared on Zellner.
Police believe some of the
paint may have gotten on the hit-
run car.
State Police at Lewiston initiat-
ed a Troop "A" radio alert,
warning all cars and stations to
be on the lookout for the death
car. The 13-state general alarm
went out by teletype.
A graduate of Felton Elemen-
tary School, Woranske was a feding
member of St. Martin's Lutheran
Church. He had been employed
by the Van Raalte Co. here until
recently.
Surviving in addition to his
parents are a brother, Gary, 16,
at home, and two sisters, Mrs.
Mary Louise Jungier and Miss
Sharon Wolanske, both of this
city.
