Miss Agnes Rutland, daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Richard Rutland, of
North Main street, whose marriage
to Waldon Dempsey, of Lockport, will
take place on Saturday, has been
guest of honor a t several gatherings.
Her aunt, Mrs. K. B. Corwin, and
cousin, Miss Isabelle Newberry, of
Ketchum avenue, entertained 16 guests
from Lockport and Newfane at dinner
on Saturday. Bridge and 500 were
played, prizes being presented to the
honor guest. Many lovely personal
gifts were received.
- Mrs, Thomas Adamson and Mrs.
Olive Dockstader entertained 12
guests at the Green Door Tea Room,
Newfane, on Monday evening. Bridge
and pinochle were played. A variety
of gifts was received by Miss Rutland.
Guests attended from Sanborn, Lockport
and Newfane.

NEWFANE, Oct. 23. - Miss Agnes
Irene Rutland, daughter ot Mr. and
Mrs. Richard Rutland, of North Main
street, and Waldon James Dempsey, of
Lockport, were united to marriage
at the local Methodist Episcopal
church parsonage at five o'clock Saturday,
the Rev. Grover C. Bucher,
pastor, officiating.
The bride' wore an ankle length
blue velvet dress, with hat, shoes and
accessories to correspond. She ° wore
a shoulder corsage of red roses and
gypsophella tied with tulle. Her attendant.
Miss Ruth Dempsey, of Newfane,
sister of the groom, wore cerise
velvet with corresponding accessories.
Her corsage was yellow roses and
gypsophella. Alan Rutland, brother of
the bride, was the groom's attendant
Mr. and Mrs. Dempsey win reside in
Lockport. Pre-nuptial events to honor
of the bride included a shower by
Mrs. E. B. Corwin and Miss Isabelle
Newberry, one by her sister, Mrs.
Thomas Adamson, and Mrs. Olive
Dockstader; one by Mrs. Leon Demp-
sey, of Lockport, and one by Miss
Ruth Dempsey, of Newfane. She will
be guest of honor Wednesday evening
when Mrs. Charles Mahl and Mrs.
Richard Rutland, Jr. will entertain in
the home of the latter at Willson.
