Anastasia C. "Nancy" (nee Fronczak) Holtz, age 97, of North Tonawanda, peacefully on September 8, 2014, while surrounded by her family. Nancy was an elementary school teacher at St. John the Baptist and St. Francis of Assisi from 1960-1983. She loved her teaching career and was a mentor to many students. She and her husband, Charles, were the proprietors of Holtz Deli in the City of Tonawanda from 1962-1969. She enjoyed quilting and reading and traveling. She had an avid interest in social and political issues. She was beloved and cherished by her family and many friends and will be greatly missed.
She was the wife of the late Charles F. Holtz, Sr. Beloved mother of Charles (Patricia) Holtz, Jr., Susan (Gary) Rice, John Holtz and Betsy (George) Koch. Cherished grandmother of Kristen Holtz-Twombly, C. Adam Holtz, Jeffrey Rice, Rick Rice, Lisa Gingras, Andrea Gregwire, Joanna Alexander, Rebecca Clinton, Matthew Holtz, Sara Holtz, David Koch, Jenna Koch and Jill Everett, 34 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild; sister-in-law of Corrine (Larry) Tynan and Pat (Fred) Holtz.
Friends may call at the Fretthold Funeral Home, Inc., 1241 Oliver St. at Ward Rd. in North Tonawanda on Thursday from 3-7 PM. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Friday at 10 AM. Interment will be in White Chapel Memorial Park. Flowers gratefully declined. If so desired, memorials may be made to the Olmsted Center for Sight, 1170 Main Street, Buffalo, NY 14209, or the American Legion.
